Mac Sabbath Announces "Clown Power" Tour
The kings of "extra cheesy" metal covers from Mac Sabbath are back this September to slay you with their fast food-themed renditions of Black Sabbath anthems.
Dubbed the "Clown Power Tour" 2016, Mac Sabbath will be joined by equally mesmerizing one-man, painted Elvis Presley project Clownvis Presley, originally discovered on Season 5 of America's Got Talent.
Blissfully unaware of his own tour package, Ronald Osbourne unnervingly offered, "The clown Elvis bloke? Yes I know him, we clown folk stick together, he's a magical mate with a show like nothing I've....What the bloody hell? On our tour??? You got to be kidding me! Who does he think he is! But you realize I'm the clown ozzzzzzz--"
"... Sorry, I think what Ronald is trying to say here is that Mac Sabbath will be joining forces with Clownvis Presley for a magical fun-tastic experience this summer on the Clown Power Tour 2016," interjected manager Mike Odd, laughing nervously as he tightened Osbourne's straightjacket.
The "Clown Power Tour" 2016 begins on August 25th in Las Vegas, NV and will run for about a month, ending in Tucson, AZ on September 17th. The band will perform a one-off show in Los Angeles on August 5th. See below for a full listing of Mac Sabbath tour dates. More...

Asphyx Reveals Album Artwork
Dutch death/doom outfit Asphyx is fiendishly pleased to reveal the cover art and track listing for upcoming full-length offering, "Incoming Death," which has been slated for a September 30th, 2016 release date through Century Media Records. Asphyx vocalist Martin van Drunen checked in with the following comment about the album:
"'Incoming Death,' the third Asphyx album after our resurrection in 2007, contains 11 furious songs in the traditional death/doom style which we are known for so well. Only more unmerciful than ever! Lyrical themes include gore humor, death, doom, war, sci-fi, the varying trustworthy Asphyx subjects, each fusing perfectly with the metal of the tracks.
"The album title already existed two or three years ago, being a phrase that doesn't really exist but refers to what entrenched soldiers cry out when under severe artillery fire. Thus 'Incoming Death' implies another relentless bombardment of monstrous Asphyx death/doom metal!"
Once again, the album's artwork was imagined by the always prolific Axel Hermann (Sodom, Grave, Morgoth, etc.), who commented on the artwork approach as follows:
"'Incoming Death' is my tenth collaboration with Asphyx. Instead of visualizing the obvious, which would have been a reaper just collecting the soul of a dying man on his deathbed, I tried a maybe more sinister approach, simply by giving the concept a slightly different twist. A demon-infested living cemetery filled with decaying souls, forever being tortured with their own consciousness...or worse!" More...

Dead Announces "Untitle" Release
Australian power duo Dead punch above their weight to bring you "Untitle," album number two in The Trilogy (A Series of Four). The oddly named "Untitle" is due for release as summer ends via We Empty Rooms. Stream new song "Don’t Pray For Us" below.
For "Untitle," Dead shifted into three-piece mode with the addition of cult one-man weirdo band BJ Morriszonkle***. No one knows exactly what he played on the record and maybe it’s safest not to know. Armed with a DIY recording setup, he entered a garden shed filled with broken instruments and emerged days later covered in sweat, clutching a USB, his parts contained therein.
Recorded and mixed by Mike Deslandes (Cosmic Psychos, The Nation Blue) "Untitle" by Dead will be released on the 30th of September, 2016 via We Empty Rooms. More...
Sabaton Parts Ways With Guitarist
Sabaton has parted ways with guitarist Thobbe Englund. The band issued this statement online about the situation:
"Our colleague and brother Thobbe Englund has decided to part ways with Sabaton. We wish him nothing but success and good luck in the future, and we salute him for all the good years and the fantastic moments we shared both on and off the stage!
"Thobbe will do some more shows during the summer and play his final gig with Sabaton in our hometown Falun, on our own festival Sabaton Open Air, for the release party of our new album 'The Last Stand.' After that a new guitar player will carry on. Do not fear friends, the show will go on!"
Thobbe himself had this to say: Dear friends! Today I have decided to announce my leave from Sabaton. Why? …many may ask.
"There is this thing that I truly believe in, and that is that one should always follow the heart.
I have in recent years become more aware of what would make me feel real happiness and content, and that is to expand my own creativeness in combination with a somewhat stiller life, where I will not tour all year round at the speed of light. More...
Problem Of Pain Streaming Full Album
Problem Of Pain's forthcoming album, "Burn What My Hands Wrought," is streaming in its entirety below. The album will be available worldwide on July 29th via Blood & Ink Records.
“We want to break down formats and thought processes to challenge others to think critically, and even counter culturally,” shares Garrett Finch, who plays guitar and serves as co-vocalist.
He goes on to say, “[Our goal is] to use art as an expression and outlet of the inner dissension that I process daily. Embodying these thoughts through the sounds that we create with our ‘experimental’ sound; and the lyrics we write gives way to be honest with not only others, but also ourselves.” More...

Miserable Failure Vocalist Passes Away
Mika Bleu of Miserable Failure passed away this previous weekend, with label Kaotoxin Records issuing the following statement:
"We’re speechless. We’re absolutely speechless.
"No word can start to describe the feeling of utter pain and absolute sadness that’s flooding our hearts while writing these lines in what’s a miserable attempt to pen a tribute to one of our artists who passed away yesterday night.
"He was joy. He was positivity, optimism. He was love. He was party. He was honesty. He was respect. He was absolute friendship. And he’s no more and no one will ever replace him in that special place he had in our hearts.
"Mika Bleu, ex-Season of Mist and current Hiraw Clothing staff member, singer for Miserable Failure and Blobfish Killer aged 34 only, died yesterday in the streets of Maureillas, France, ran over by a car whose drunk driver cowardly fled away. Mika’s girlfriend is still hospitalized as we speak and a friend of them got lightly injured too.
"We have no word, really… Our thoughts are with his countless friends, his relatives and his family. He’s most surely partying hard with Satan as we speak. All hail Bleu. We love you, wherever you are, whatever you do. We wish all the best to his girlfriend, Fanny, in the hope she’ll get well in no time." More...

Faith No More Re-Releasing Two Albums
Last summer, Faith No More treated fans to "Sol Invictus," the group's first new studio release in almost 20 years. This year, the band will revisit two classic albums with deluxe editions of "King For A Day" and "Album Of The Year."
Each album will be available as a two-disc set that includes the original release accompanied by a second disc filled with rarities related to the album. In addition to the CD set, there will also be a double LP, 180 gram heavyweight black vinyl format of each album, featuring the remastered original, along with rare bonus tracks.
Following the Grammy nominated album "Angel Dust," Faith No More returned in 1995 with "King For A Day... Fool For A Lifetime." Recorded at Bearsville Studios near Woodstock, New York, it was the first album without longtime guitarist Jim Martin, whose departure had an influence on the direction of the album.
In the new liner notes, keyboardist Roddy Bottum writes: "As a result, we wrote and recorded some of our most radical, out there songs, like 'Cuckoo For Caca' and 'Ugly In The Morning,' some of our mellowest like 'Take This Bottle,' 'Caralho Voador' and then some or our most high-drama, like 'Just A Man.'"
Among the eight bonus tracks are the b-sides "Spanish Eyes" and "Absolute Zero," as well as the band's cover of the Bee Gee's "I Started A Joke," which was originally released as a b-side in 1995, and then as a single in 1998. More...

The Devil Wears Prada Announces New Album
The Devil Wears Prada today unveils the details for sixth full-length album, "Transit Blues," which will arrive October 7th via Rise Records.
This release follows last year's "Space" EP that bowed at #18 on the Billboard Top 200. The band retreated to both Watertown, WI and Sawyer, MI last winter to write "Transit Blues," for the first time living and creating in a shared, full time space.
The Devil Wears Prada re-teamed with "Space" producer Dan Korneff (Pierce The Veil, Motionless in White) in the spring of 2016 to record the 11-track "Transit Blues." Overall, the album reflects themes of transition, separation, and mourning.
"It's like zooming out on a commute," explains vocalist Mike Hranica. "It's the notion of getting from one place to another. Most people go from their homes to work while we go from date to date on tour. Either way, it's the inevitable process of growth and change. There are moments of anger, but the pervading theme is separation. Drawing the full circle, it is separation that is inherent in moving from one place to another."
A video for first single "Daughter" can be seen below, and the track nods to a passion Hranica has yet to properly write about: literature. Specifically, it takes a page from Simone de Beauvoir's novel "The Mandarins."
"It's strange," smiles Hranica. "I will write EPs based on subjects that aren't super close to my heart like 'Zombie' or 'Space' because it opens the door for me to make my own stories based off the topics. When we did 'Transit Blues,' it was only natural to incorporate fiction. 'Daughter' is the most forthright example." More...
