Destroying The Devoid Posts New Lyric Video

"Paramnesia" is the impending new full-length album from progressive death metal project Destroying The Devoid, led by Craig Peters of Deeds Of Flesh and formerly Arkaik.

"Paramnesia" takes its listeners through a dark exploration of the human psyche, specifically how an individual's personality and perception of the world are molded and eventually dictated by their personal relationships and experiences. Through repeated interactions, once unique strangers gradually morph into fragmented pieces of one another, now completely interspersed. This is essentially paramnesia: the inability to distinguish between fact and fiction.

In advance of its release next month, today you can see new lyric video "The Endless Cycles Of Lunacy" below.

Elaborates Peters: "'The Endless Cycles Of Lunacy' is a song that takes you through the mind of someone losing sight of reality. The music is very frantic but sways in and out of moments of schizophrenia and sorrow. It is a musical representation of the darkest polarity of the human psyche." More...

Crystal Eyes Recruits New Drummer

Vocalist Mikael Dahl from Crystal Eyes just checked in with this announcement about recruiting a new drummer:

"The reason for the lack of Crystal Eyes news lately is simply because there's hasn't been any band to write about. In February last year we had reached a point where the chemistry of the band didn't work and we just couldn't agree on anything.

"Because of this I had lost my passion for writing and playing music so when Niclas wanted to leave the band for the 3rd time I saw no other way but to split up the rest of the line up. There was no news about this because I didn't want to end the name Crystal Eyes after so many years and I knew the desire to create music would come back.

"So here we are today and the time is right for a new beginning. After 19 years together Claes Wikander is of course still in the band and there's no way I could do this without him. 2 years ago I met a drummer who had the same musical taste, influence and vision as me and instantly became a good friend. When my and Claes other band Defenders Of The Faith (Judas Priest tribute) needed a new drummer in late 2014 he did an audition that completely blew us away and after a year playing together we begin to realise that there was a future after all. He's without any doubt the best drummer we've ever played with and a big reason for getting our inspiration back to continue the path of Crystal Eyes. Welcome to the band Henrik Birgersson.

"Right now we're busy writing songs and just having fun. When the time is right we'll announce the second guitarist. Watch Henrik warming up on the drums in the clip below." More...

Pentagram Releases First Music Video

45 years into its career, Pentagram is ecstatic to announce a first ever promotional video for the title track from latest album "Curious Volume" - check it out below.

The video for "Curious Volume" was produced by David Hall, known for his work with The Melvins, Pig Destroyer, Phillip H. Anselmo and the Illegals, Venom, Brutal Truth, Ken Mode and more, with the live footage shot on tour March - April 2016 by Jerry Moore, Chris Navarro, Joe Shuerger and Dan Lively.

Pentagram frontman Bobby Liebling said of the video: "We wanted our first ever video to, in-a-way, be a connection to the past as well as the present. The song can be interpreted as a personal and collective journey that we've been on for close to half a decade. It's a trip that's both physical and mental and I feel that Dave's end result illustrates that for us and everyone. The video stands as both an escape and an introduction to us as artists and people. You can feel the rigors and rewards of tour life through the visuals. We love the stardust and psychedelics as well as the raw rock-n-roll energy felt throughout the song and video alike. We hope you connect with it like we do." More...

Red Fang Details New Album

Red Fang recently announced the October 14th release of "Only Ghosts" via Relapse Records. The band is als now streaming “Flies," a new song from the Ross Robinson-produced album.

"Only Ghosts" was recorded earlier this year at Robinson’s Venice, California studio. In a recent Revolver Magazine interview, bass player Aaron Beam joked that the experience of working beachside was “pretty miserable,” later adding that working with Ross encouraged the band to take a different approach to recording. “He really digs into the meaning behind the songs so that when you’re recording, you’re doing it with conviction and purpose. It’s less about the little technical things. He’s more concerned with getting a performance and focusing on what you’re trying to give the world by making this music in the first place.”

Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Tool, Melvins) mixed the album. “Working with Ross and Joe on this record was a huge leap forward for us,” said the band jointly. “The process was very challenging and rewarding, and I think we’re a better band for it. This album expresses exactly where we’re at. We’re super proud of it and can’t wait for people to hear it!”

2. Cut It Short
3. Flames
4. No Air

Psykosis Announces Debut Album Details

Anyone who has seen Psykosis live can attest to this; these guys are the epitome of what party thrash is all about. High energy live performances, fast paced action on stage and riffs to boot with memorable hooks and crowd sing-a-longs, not to forget the all important lashings of tongue-in-cheek, and often childish, humour.

The thrash outfit hail from Dublin, Ireland and started in 2008 after a booze fuelled binge and desire to inject some good fun into the rich but sombre Irish metal scene. The band began honing their sound on the stages of Dublin and progressed to headliner gigs and support slots with internationally recognised acts such as D.R.I., Sacred Reich, Evile, Blaze Bayley and Gama Bomb. The band got their first break in mainland UK when they were invited to Bloodstock Open Air in the summer of 2014. Their performance has gone down in the history books of the festival as during their set Psykosis and their crew threw out hundred's of bottles of home brew just prior to performing the song 'Beach Party', a song which the band were more than happy to share their inflatable beach toys with the appreciative crowd for. From that moment the band have been inviting folk all across the UK to their fun filled shows as well as having set sail and ventured to far flung places (from little old Ireland at least) such as Metal Days in Slovenia and more.

They say time flies when you're having fun, and that is indeed the case with Psykosis because after eight years in existence the band have only recently hit the studio with producer Steven Rats Rahaman and recorded their debut album, a collection of songs which have already gotten a good thrashing on the live circuit and has garnered an enthusiastic audience seal of approval.

Entitled Welcome To The Psyko Ward, this album "is loud and in your face!" as put by vocalist/guitarist Grant Walsh. "We tried keep the energy up as to what we would be like on stage, so it's like having us play live in your house or car or wherever! After a prolonged wait for this album coming out that day is almost among us and we cannot wait to share it with everyone."

The album will be self-issued on September 16, 2016. The artwork is shown below - which was created by Andrej Maggotmeister Bartulovic.

The track listing is as follows:

1. Rise To Fall
2. Hunt To Kill
3. Driller Kller
4. Mortar Platoon
5. Tag Your Dead
6. Terror At 3am
7. Toxic Fugitive More...

Aktaion Unleashes "The Parade Of Nature"

Swedish metallers Aktaion released a new lyric video for the new track "The Parade of Nature," which features Christopher Amott (Armageddon, ex-Arch Enemy) on guitar. The song is the title track from the new album, which also features Amott's Armageddon bandmate Joey Concepcion (Dead By Wednesday). The album is out on July 29, 2016 via Bandcamp.

Francis Larsson says: "Working with Christopher Amott on some of the songs was quite surreal. Being a longtime Arch Enemy fan and Arch Enemy being the band that dragged me into the metal world it was quite the experience to have Chris in my living room. He had heard the song before and tried out some ideas for a couple of turns. After he got some basic stuff down for the start of the solo he more or less performed the whole solo that you hear on the finished song, and blew us away. I knew we had it right away and the song got lifted into a whole other level becuse of his contribution!"

"The Parade of Nature" features the following track listing:

Operation: Mindcrime Details Its "Resurrection"

Frontiers Music srl is excited to announce the release of "Resurrection," the new album from Operation: Mindcrime, the brainchild of ex-Queensryche vocalist Geoff Tate. The album is set for a worldwide release on September 23, 2016.

"Resurrection" is the second part of the musical trilogy from iconic metal vocalist Geoff Tate. Tate continued, "I'm excited for people to hear and experience 'Resurrection' because I think it answers some of the questions that were posed in the first album, 'The Key.' Musically, it offers some of the most diverse and challenging material that I've ever written."

UMC Begins Announcement Barrage For 70K 2017

UMC - promoters for the Original and World's Largest Cruise Festival, 70,000 Tons of Metal - have unleashed the first barrage of bands that will appear on the 2017 edition of the annual cruise.

The first 16 of 60 bands announced are: Amaranthe, Amorphis, Annihilator, Anthrax, Cruachan, Death Angel, Equilibrium, Grave Digger, Haggard, Kalmah, Kamelot, Nile, Orphaned Land, Powerglove, Suffocation and Therion.

70,000 Tons of Metal 2016 will set sail on February 2nd-6th from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and for the first time will port in Haiti at Labadee.

The festival will once again be hosted by The Independence of the Seas (via Royal Caribbean). The ship will accommodate four stages: The Alhambra Theater is a five-story concert hall in which they spare no expense to remove part of the (very comfortable) seating so you have a real Mosh Pit on the High Seas; The more intimate Egyptian themed Pyramid Lounge offers the local club atmosphere; The third indoor stage is in Studio B, the ice skating rink featuring a maritime version of the Arena experience and last but not least their jewel: The Pool Deck stage - The World’s Biggest Open Air Stage Structure to ever sail the Open Seas, surrounded by multiple bars and pools, plenty of room to sunbathe on several decks and even hot tubs incorporated into the Pool Deck stage to soak in while you watch the shows!

The All-Star Jam band, which returned this past January will also be back, led by Annihilator's Jeff Waters and members from the various acts aboard performing cover tunes live.

Ticket prices include all on board entertainment, most non-alcoholic and non-carbonated beverages, all meals in the dining rooms, most on board restaurants and even 24 hour room service. For more information or to book your high seas metal adventure, head on over to 70000tons.com. More...
