Barishi Streaming "Grave Of The Creator"
Vermont's gritty progressive metal outfit Barishi has announced details regarding a new full-length album, titled "Blood from the Lion's Mouth."
This is the band's second album, and first for Season of Mist, will be released by worldwide on September 16th. Pre-orders for "Blood from the Lion's Mouth" are available here.
Barishi is also streaming the first new track from the album: check out opener "Grave of the Creator" below. Regarding this new track, the band comments: "'Grave of the Creator' came together in the middle of the album's writing process. The majority of the song was written on an old acoustic guitar in a hundred year old log cabin in the middle of Maine. It's been fun hearing its transformation since then." More...
Psalm Zero Posts "Not Guilty" Video
"Stranger To Violence" - the second LP by NYC-based Psalm Zero - is nearing release via Profound Lore Records later this month. In addition, the band has announced a new string of Eastern U.S. and Canadian tour dates to support the album later this summer.

Power Trip Kicking Off North American Tour
The Texas savages from Power Trip will return to the road on another massive live excursion tomorrow, joining The Life & Death tour 2016.
This caravan sees Power Trip alongside Harm's Way as direct support for Terror, with additional acts Angel Du$t, Fury, and Red Death also taking part in the widespread North American trek. The tour begins today, July 6th in Chicago, with twenty-two shows to follow, the final set to take place in Anaheim on July 30th.
Following The Life & Death tour, Power Tripo is also slated to play at This Is Hardcore in Philadelphia on Saturday, August 6th. Power Trip will soon announce more info on an upcoming second album for Southern Lord. Despised Icon Discusses Recording Process
Montreal based deathcore pioneers Despised Icon will release Nuclear Blast debut, "Beast," on July 22nd. Today, the band releases the third of several videos discussing the making of that album.
"Beast" was produced and engineered by former guitarist Yannick St-Amand and mixed/mastered by Andy Sneap). Artwork was created by Alexandre Goulet.
End-Time Illusion Parts With Three Members
Guitarist Dave and vocalist Adam from End-Time Illusion just issued this announcement about parting ways with the rest of the band:
"At this point in time we have found it critical to remanifest the current structure of the band. Yanni, Scott, and Gary have parted ways and we sincerely wish them the best in all future creative endeavors as well as appreciate the years of commitment to End-Time Illusion's objectives.
"E-TI is a philosophy and lifestyle that extends well beyond individual members which is why the show will go on. We are excited about expanding upon the base that we have built by tapping into additional influences and sounds yet known. This includes the addition of a full time keyboard player in lieu of second guitar.

Fabio Leone Guesting On Twilight Force Album
Swedish adventure metal band Twilight Force is set to release new studio album "Heroes Of Mighty Magic" on August 26th through Nuclear Blast.
Today, the band can proudly announce the guest bards on this forthcoming record. Fabio Lione from Rhapsody Of Fire joined on the track "There And Back Again" while Joakim Brodén from Sabaton appears on the the title track.
Joakim commented: "When one of the best bands to come out of Sweden in a long time turns out to be your friends and people you have played with many times over the years, it's quite easy to feel proud about being invited to sing on the title-track on their new album, fantastic!"
The band adds: "It is an honour to have two of the most powerful, esteemed and renowned voices of the genre appear on 'Heroes Of Mighty Magic.' Joakim Brodén and Fabio Lione are two very different sonic entities. They each bring something very unique and captivating to our tonal landscape. Our old and revered friend Joakim appears on the title track of the album, and provides an excellent contrast to Chrileon's voice, at just the right moment in the song. Lotus Thief Signs With Prophecy Productions
Lotus Thief is a San Francisco band that merges post-black metal, space rock, and ambient music, seamlessly blending the genres into a unique and greater musical whole.
Originated by two members of Botanist – drummer Otrebor and multi-instrumentalist / composer Bezaelith -- Lotus Thief has signed to Prophecy Productions and will release new album "Gramarye" this autumn.

Obscura Posts Drum Playthrough
Following a music video for the track and a subsequent bass playthrough, Obscura and skinsman Sebastian Lanser have just shared a new drum playthrough for the "Akroasis" single "Ten Sepiroth."
In addition to a series of festival appearances this coming summer, Obscura also announced a stacked new European tour this coming October. Full dates are available after the jump.

As Paradise Falls Posts "Digital Ritual"
Brisbane deathcore outfit As Paradise Falls today gives the world a chance peer into an upcoming record with a new video clip for the "Digital Ritual" track.
Late 2015 saw the band travel to Thailand to lay down the follow-up record to "Save Yourself." What followed was heartbreaking to the say the least - friend and brother in music, Glen Barrie, passed away unexpectedly and without warning, in his sleep. All of Glen's work on the record remains as he played it.
"Digital Ritual" is the first track to be released from this new record and its a definite shakeup in style for As Paradise Falls as a very short instrumental track. In another shift for the Brisbane 5-piece, the group also recently underwent a change of vocalist and guitarist.
This new track comes with a film clip created by Third Eye Visuals and it gives punters a sneak, albeit covert, look into who the new vocalist and guitarist are... can you tell who it is? More...
Psycholies Releasing New Album
Psycholies is a four-piece industrial dark glam / metal band from Bari (Italy) gearing up to release a debut album this coming October.
In the two years of working on the album, Psycholies has also played at festivals such as the Total Metal Festival 2014 (Bari), Trash Fest VII (Helsinki), and Gothic Castle (Germany) along with touring Slovakia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland and Austria.
Now the group is announcing its signing with Alpha Omega management, commenting: “We are really proud to be part of the professional Alpha Omega management agency! We are sure that together we will do a good work!”
Alpha Omega adds: “We’re glad to welcome Psycholies to our roster family! Despite the band’s young age, these guys have been around a lot, playing on big stages and gaining in a short time a solid fan-base all around Europe! Robots And Monsters Streaming "King Of The World"
"King Of The World," the lead track to the impending "Nothing To Fear Nothing To Fight" EP by New Jersey-based metal/hardcore quartet Robots And Monsters, is now available for public streaming below.
The band will independently release "Nothing To Fear Nothing To Fight" on CD and digital formats September 2nd.
Robots and Monsters continues to book shows through the summer months in preparation of the new EP, including a show in New London, Connecticut on August 6th, a show in Brooklyn supporting All Out War on August 13th, with more one-off shows and widespread tour dates to be added.

Neurogenic Announces New Album Release
Comatose Music and Neurogenic have teamed up to bring you brutal new death metal release "Ouroboric Stagnation."
Neurogenic is comprised of an elite international lineup formed in early 2012 by guitarist Vlad Melnik (Derogation) of Ukraine. He soon recruited the superior drum skills of Marco Pitruzzella (Six Feet Under) from the United States, and followed by adding Russian bassist Anton Zhikharev (Fleshbomb).
While recording a two song demo entitled "Subdural Breeding," vocalist Matteo Bazzanella (Indecent Excision) from Italy joined the band to complete the lineup. The upcoming album is set for a September 2nd release via Comatose Music. More...

Currently everyone in Antarctica is slaving away on preparations for the 7th Annual GWAR B-Q. During a break in the action to step away for a quick hit of crack, the band realized that there was no crack left.
"Since the FBI and CIA have put a huge dent in the human trafficking market we have to resort to touring again to make drug money! We can't catch a break!" exclaimed guitarist Pustulus Maximus!

Ayreon Announces Vinyl Re-Releases
Earlier this year Mascot Label Group announced the signing of Ayreon, the highly acclaimed project from singer / songwriter / multi-instrumentalist / record producer Arjen Lucassen, to its sub label Music Theories Recordings.
After re-releasing the Ayreon catalogue on various digital platforms in April, debut album "The Final Experiment" and follow-up "Actual Fantasy: Revisited" will see their first-ever vinyl release on August 26th, 2016. You can see Arjen talking about the releases in the YouTube clip below.
The Ayreon back-catalogue has been re-released before, but contrary to the rest of Ayreon’s seven studio albums, "The Final Experiment" and "Actual Fantasy: Revisited" have never been released on vinyl.
Lucassen comments: “That makes it perfect for me. I couldn’t have wished for a better start with Mascot Label Group and Music Theories Recordings. The people at Mascot flooded me with ideas and plans for the re-releases. Which is a luxury, really! Take the artwork, for example. They offered to rework it, but wanted to show the original artwork as well. Their ideas were all really good. I’m sure the fans will appreciate this, which is one of my main goals when working on a re-release or a vinyl release. The worst thing to do is forget about quality and details, because people will turn away from you in no time.” More...
Friend Or Foe Streams "True"
Richmond-based Friend Or Foe released the "True" single today, and in conjunction with the tape's availability, the namesake track for the single has been unleashed and can be heard below.
Flatspot Records will release Friend Or Foe's new "Foe" EP on August 19th, but today the label issues a limited, pre-release, two-song cassette single. The tape leads off with "True," the track featuring additional guest vocals by Jimmy Williams of Maximum Penalty, with an exclusive non-EP demo track on the B-side called "Invincible." Carcass Gearing Up For North American Tour
The British metal icons from Carcass will return to North America next week for their "One Foot In The Grave" 2016 headlining tour.
Set to commence on July 16th and level nearly two dozen stages through August 6th, the journey includes performances at Chicago Open Air Festival as well as Heavy MTL. Support will be provided by Crowbar, Ghoul, and Night Demon.
Carcass will be touring in support of "Surgical Steel," released in September 2013 (reviewed here). The record came in at #41 on the US Billboard Top 200 Chart, just narrowly avoiding the dreaded "Top 40 Band" moniker. More...
Hammers Of Misfortune Streams "Flying Alone"
On July 22nd, Hammers of Misfortune will release "Dead Revolution" worldwide via Metal Blade Records. In anticipation of this release, the band has now launched a new track titled "Flying Alone."
Recorded at Light Rail Studios in San Francisco, CA, "Dead Revolution" is more varied than its predecessor (2011's "17th Street"), by using different tones and delving into heavier, darker territory. The full track listing consists of:

Pyres Issues Band Activity Update
Following a year of inactivity on the social media front, Toronto-based group Pyres just issued this statement about what the future holds:
"Sheeeeit! Almost a year since we last posted. Its been a helluva year and while we havent quite been 'on hiatus' or 'inactive,' we also have not been pursuing live gigs. Some of us got hitched or bought homes this year, some started businesses. Being a band with relatively low tour viability, and being four adults with stupid adult problems, PYRES laid low this year.
"BUT! We managed to get together each week and stitch together riffs and drum parts slowly, and now have way more material in motion than with 'Year of Sleep.' The plan is to keep writing away for a while until we have enough material to carefully select for a double LP.
"With the limited time we have as a band, and now three years since 'Sleep,' we felt we owed it to ourselves and fans to really try to make a cool artifact. So check in a little more often as we begin posting videos and stuff.
"And thanks to strong mailorder in recent months, the current CD pressing of 'Year of Sleep' is sold out. Good job guys!" More...
