Pro-Pain Vocalist Assaulted In Brussels
Pro-Pain has officially cancelled upcoming tour dates after vocalist / bassist Gary Meskil was violently assaulted and robbed in Brussels earlier this week. The band issued this update via Facebook:
"This past Monday night, Gary was the victim of a robbery and attempted murder in Brussels. He was pick-pocketed of cash, credit card, and passport, struck on the head with an ice pick and then subsequently attacked by a gang of individuals.
"The police have confiscated more than one weapon and they have established the identities of some of the suspects. Gary was quickly admitted to ICU after suffering head trauma (including several fractures to his face and jaw) and massive blood loss.
"Since then he has stabilized and is trying his best to recover, but future surgery may be necessary. We regret to inform the fans that the shows scheduled for Roeselare (July 7th) and Osnabruck (July 8th) are now officially cancelled.
"We will make sure to keep you all informed of any other cancellations and on Gary's progress. Thanks for your support at this difficult time." More...

Ancient Gearing Up For Latin American Tour
Reactivated Norwegian group Ancient just announced their cities and dates for a Latin American tour kicking off on September 7th in Mexico. Frontman Zel stated:
"We are very excited and proud to announce the Ancient tour in Latin America in September. This has in many ways been a dream come true for us, to finally tour this corner of the world. The tour that took place in 2007 was not with a full band line-up and I was not even there myself, but this time we will bring the most powerful and energetic line up Ancient has ever had, with Mr. Nick Barker himself on the drums!
"A lot of fans from countries like Honduras, Puerto Rico, Bolivia, Venezuela and especially Brazil, have been writing to us asking why we will not visit these places during the tour. The thing is, that it does not depend on the band, we would play in every single country if we had the chance. These decisions are always made by the booking agency and the local promoters in each country. Sometimes the expenses (especially with travelling) are simply too high to make it happen, but we will do our best to return again with an even bigger tour next time! Let's keep the Ancient spirit alive!" More...

Bloody Hammers Streams "Gates Of Hell"
The new EP "The Horrific Case Of Bloody Hammers" is just over a week away from release (July 14th) and Bloody Hammers has opened the "Gates Of Hell" by streaming the opening track in the player below. The physical release is strictly limited to 300 copies.
"The Horrific Case Of Bloody Hammers" desends from the dark mountain peaks of Transylvania. Here somber-sacral organ symphonies slide over cruel hammering staccato riffing. Our master of horror is Anders Manga, who delivers a bombastic, powerful voice over his wife Devallia's sinister synthesizers. The ice-cold nostalgia of 70's b-list thrillers shoots through the veins directly into the heart. In "The Beyond" their piercing Gothic sound shifts to a sensual, The Cure-esque brand of pop. A soundtrack for the exploration of past lives
The track listing for the EP is:
1. Gates of Hell
2. Blood (see video here)
3. The Beyond
4. Vultures Circle Overland
5. All The Colors Of The Dark
6. The Bloodsucker Leads The Dance

Bittered Releases "Badge Head" Video Clip
Pennsylvania sludge/doom act Bittered released a video clip for the new song "Badge Head." The song appears on the band's second full length album "Foreign Agenda," which was originally independently released by the band back in May, but which will see official release via Sliptrick Records this fall.
This is the first video release in support of "Foreign Agenda." "Badge Head" makes a strong political and social statement about an all too familiar problem in the US. Here’s the description of the track in the bands own words; “The track 'Badge Head' is obviously about the police …ha ha. It’s a song that rails against the practice of racial profiling and about the fact that most people stopped and searched by the police are minorities. Here in America, our prison system is filled mostly with minorities. We believe the policies of the police and justice system here in America are racist, which obviously, we are against. There is too much power given to the police, and the majority of personnel working for the justice system are power hungry and self-serving rather than serving and protecting the people equally.”
The track listing for the album is:
1. Intro
2. Follow Your Leader
3. Media Crook
4. Planetary Meltdown
5. Brick by Brick
6. Mind Loss

Formed in 2011 by Christian Palin (Panorama, Magic Kingdom, ex Adagio), Random Eyes began writing material and laying down the foundation for the band. The debut album "Eyes Ablaze" was released in 2003 and it featured gothic metal influences. The second album "Invisible" was released in 2008 followed by the third "Light Up" in 2011). Seven Spires Posts New Song "Serenity"
After the bad ass rockin' "The Cabaret Of Dreams" the power metal hymn "Stay" and the blackish "The Paradox" (premiered via MetalUnderground.com), U.S. theatrical metal outfit Seven Spires show off another new face with "Serenity" and prove that the band is far away from having reached its musical boundaries. This time the highly talented four-piece deliver a modern melodic death cocktail accentuated with subtle symphonic arrangements:
"We wanted to write something moshable, straightforward, and catchy," says vocalist Adrienne Cowan, "but more importantly, 'Serenity' is a song about the fear of pain, and the lengths people will go to escape it." Check it out in the player at the bottom.

The Minerva Conduct Announces Debut Album
The Minerva Conduct is hailed as a supergroup in India with members of Demonic Resurrection, Gutslit and Albatross coming together to create something unique. The band will release the self-titled debut record on September 15th via Transcending Obscurity.
For too long Indian bands have played well within the confines of the extreme metal genre of what is tried and tested, but finally here is a metal band that's daring to expand the perception of the genre as a whole. Forward-thinking and cutting-edge, the band's progressive music deals with clever experimentation and even the incorporation of subtle layers of atmosphere to elevate the experience beyond the ordinary. The more you listen to this album, the more you will get enamored by it. With a gorgeous artwork adorning the instrumental music, and with drumming and synth done by Entheos, ex-Animals As Leaders member Navine Koperweis, this is a world class album that should be heard by all fans of contemporary metal music.

Argus To Release New Album "From Fields Of Fire"
Four years after the release "Beyond the Martyrs," mighty U.S. heavy metal torchbearers Argus will release "From Fields of Fire" on September 8th via Cruz Del Sur Music! "From Fields of Fire" is the defining moment from a band that has delivered the goods album after album. It is the highlight of the band's career to date and it is an album that will be seen as a highlight in heavy metal circles, not just this year, but for years to come.
Argus no longer needs an introduction. Three studio albums, three EPs, several European tours and US showcases and festival appearances have established the name of Argus as an established force in the heavy metal universe. Yet, Argus is a band not content to rest on its achievements. This is a band that is still hungry - a growing and strengthening animal that shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.
Judging from the outside almost nothing seems to have changed this time around on "From Fields of Fire." Another exceptional and visionary cover provided by Brad Moore (shown below), and an Intro/Outro on the track list, another of Argus' trademarks through all the records. But it's when you get on the inside, when you bite this album below the flesh to the bones that you realize Argus has not only been able to maintain uniqueness, but the band has raised the quality of the creativity and therefore raised the stakes for the future. There's a definite step ahead in terms of production and songwriting, which has reached the highest quality with the addition of producer and guitarist Dave Watson and bassist Justin Campbell in the line-up. The tense opener "Devils of Your Time" and the emotional closing "No Right to Grieve" are the songs that most clearly express their courage and confidence of exploring unusual sonic paths. More...

Morphesia Signs With Sliptrick Records
Sliptrick Records announced the signing of U.S. blackgaze metal act Morphesia for the new album "I Forever End," which is expected for release later this year.
Formed in 2005 the San Diego based band began as Zombie Thirteen’s one-man black metal project that later expanded into a full band. Following various lineup changes and some independent releases, Morphesia has returned as a one-man band to showcase "I Forever End," a new album which steps away from the black metal blueprint and incorporates a post-metal/blackgaze style, focusing on a diverse and experimental sound.
Morphesia is well know for hypnotic live performances on the San Diego scene which transcend the fact the this is a one musician project with the use of loops created through an effects board and guitar, creating a massive wall of beautiful noise. It’s always an intense experience.
Stay tuned for more information. More...
