Hostile Array Premieres "Devoid" Video
Hostile Array (formerly known as My Ransomed Soul) is gearing up to release a debut album under the new name later this year.
Today we're stoked to premiere the first official Hostile Array single - check out "Devoid" below! "Devoid" focuses specifically on U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East.
"We have exacerbated issues due to a long history of foreign intervention," explains vocalist Brendan Frey. "We have been waging endless wars for years. The majority doesn’t seem to understand the concept of blowback. We dehumanize others by adopting an us vs. them mentality. We excuse countless civilian casualties, referring to them as ‘collateral damage.' The blame is on both sides of the political spectrum."
Politics and art have a long history together. Music, in particular, has been used to protest, educate, and even to propagandize. Hailing from Frederick, Maryland, Hostile Array aims to bring the band's own unapologetic perspective to an increasingly divisive culture. Like what you hear below? Be sure to follow the group at Facebook here.
"We have allowed fear and ignorance to influence our culture for far too long" comments Frey. "We go to war based on false narratives. We give up our rights in the name of security. We place our faith in the government, which by nature uses its power to oppress. In order to bring about any real change, our society will need to drastically shift its perception." More...

worldwide via Metal Blade Records. You can hear the new single "Mother of Unbelievers" below. Metal Blade also comments:

Featuring music that spans from monumental orchestrations to songs whispered over fading pyres, Amain contains layers upon layers of grand melodies woven between jagged shadows. On this new release, Crimfall also continues to sing the stories of wars waged in vain, advocating freedom from religious dogmas and the bloody chains of tradition."

Cold Blooded Posts "No Hope = No Problem"
A new video from death/thrash/grind outfit Cold Blooded just came online this morning. “No Hope = No Problem” is taken from the newly released album "Throneburner," which dropped via Blackhouse Records. Though a dark and cathartic track about the ills of society, vocalist Ethan Kennedy has a different perspective on the “No Hope = No Problem” video itself.
Kennedy said: "it’s primarily a live video as we recorded our performance as well as off-stage antics. We filmed this during the Volume Music Festival in Spokane. It was an especially great night as the organizers (the Spokane Inlander newspaper) were cool enough to let Blackhouse records have a whole night to showcase their vast roster. Being able to share the stage with Slug Christ and Ras Kass as well as our regional counterparts in Zan, Scatterbox, Infrablaster and Narrow Minded made the shoot truly memorable.”
Cameos from many of the Blackhouse family (including label honcho Scott Rozell) also appear in the video. Inspired by the division in the country during the recent presidential election as well as violence in America, "Throneburner" is a particularly turbulent album. Further adding to the sonic fury is Bill Nieman in the Producers chair and Topon Das (of avant-grind freaks, Fuck The Facts) who contributes several sound-collage interludes and masters the record.
The band has several upcoming live shows scheduled, including:
8/18 Seattle, WA The Kraken Klaw
8/19 Everett, WA Tony V’s Garage Klaw, Method 13
8/31 Spokane, WA The Pin Decapitated, Thy Art Is Murder More...
Almanac Unveils New Album
Victor Smolski's Almanac stands for a new dimension of symphonic power metal, featuring three singers: Jeannette Marchewka (Lingua Mortis Orchestra), Andy B. Franck (Brainstorm) and David Readman (Pink Cream 69).
In March of 2016, Almanac unleashed debut album "Tsar," followed by a European tour alongside Orden Ogan, as well as EU headline tour in the spring. Within the past few weeks, Almanac completed the recording of a second long player entitled "Kingslayer," which was recorded at HeyDay Studios in Wuppertal, Germany.
"Our second strike is complete," reveals guitar player Victor Smolski. He goes on to say, "’Kingslayer’ is the logical follow-up to ‘Tsar,' just more compact, heavier and faster. The experience now under our belts gained from our many live experiences, including the two tours and festivals, has been fully implemented in the studio. The band has grown closer and stronger, you can feel this unified energy within the new tracks. We took a lot of time and gave our very best. ‘Kingslayer’ is a crafted metal album with a lively power sound!"
New album "Kingslayer" will be released on November 3rd via Nuclear Blast. The cover artwork was once again created by Hungarian artist Gyula Havancsák (Accept, Destruction). More...

Becomes Astral Premieres "Paleblood Sky"
Ontario technical death metal crew Becomes Astral is gearing up to officially release new album "Paleblood Sky" this coming August 18th, 2017.
Ahead of that release, today we are immensely pleased to exclusively premiere the title track - check it out below and let us know what you think! If you dig it, pre-orders are online here.
This song was written as an introduction track to next song, "Praise the Sun," and if you couldn't tell by the song titles, the lyrics are loosely framed around a Dark Souls / Bloodborne theme, games that both visually and conceptually inspired the band to write two very lengthy full songs.
"Paleblood Sky" will include six pulverizing tracks and was recorded and mixed by Christian Donaldson and Marco Frechette at The Grid. Upon the release of the album, the band will set out on tour throughout Canada, starting on the eastern leg with Eye of Horus and later adding Into Eternity for the western leg of the tour.
Become Astral's Layne comments: "This is our breakthrough into the minds of the creators, early development in our quest of outcasting ourselves. Dark souls will manifest themselves in these hymns of insanity."
