Asphyx comments: "Salutations Asphyxians! The Agonist Posts New Video
As The Agonist gets ready to hit the road, the band just released a video for "The Raven Eyes," taken from Napalm Records debut album "Five," which was released late last year.
Guitarist Danny Marino comments: "Writing this was a departure for Vicky and I but it may have been one of the most rewarding as songwriters. It allowed us to explore sounds and emotions we've always wanted to but could never quite get to in a metal setting.
"Also, working with Igor Khoroshev (Yes) really helped bring out the full depth of Vicky's piano and string arrangements. The lyrics were originally inspired by stories of the renaissance plague doctors. FTB Visuals was able to take these themes and create a modern world storyline with an equally dark overtone that captured the painful emotions in the song."
The band is currently preparing for a headline Canadian tour starting August 4th in Montreal, QC and running through August 29th in Regina, SK. A complete list of dates can be found after the video. More...

Dreadnought Streams "Within Chanting Waters"
Dreadnought, the Denver co-ed foursome whose sophomore album "Bridging Realms" was released in 2015 (reviewed here), now returns with "A Wake In Sacred Waves" on October 6th via Sailor Records.
Check out the first new music from the four-song, 51-minute "A Wake In Sacred Waves" album with a stream of the advance track “Within Chanting Waters” below.
“Each album is loosely based on an element,” explains singer/guitar player/flautist Kelly Schilling. “'Lifewoven' was earth, 'Bridging Realms' was ether, and this is our water album. You could think of them like Zelda temples. We wanted to make this a little bit darker and heavier because we were going through heavier parts of our lives. This record tells a story about the process of life and death. A sea creature evolves into an apex predator, takes over everything, and then falls from grace. It mirrors humanity’s own existential struggle.”
The band, which features drummer/saxophone player Jordan Clancy, bass player Kevin Handlon and singer/keyboard player Lauren Vieira, recorded the new album at The Boar’s Nest (Salt Lake City) with SubRosa’s Andy Patterson recording and mixing the collection. Catch the band live on these dates:
July 19 - Covington, KY @ Madison Live w/ Winterhymn, Automaton
July 20 - St Louis, MO @ The Sinkhole w/ Path of Might, Dracla, Dibiase
July 29 - Denver, CO @ Moe's BBQ w/ Free Slamander Exhibit (members of Sleepy Time Gorilla Museum) More...

No middle ground; EyeHateGod is either wonderfully loved or instinctively hated. Predicting the future accidentally and preaching the end time message, see the band LIVE now before something else bad happens..." More...

Forgotten Tomb Finishes New Album
Italian black/doom metal crew Forgotten Tomb has finished recording new album, "We Owe You Nothing." It will include 6 songs for approximately 40 minutes of music.
The album recording sessions started in December 2016 with drums being tracked at Big Pine Creek studio in Italy, but were abruptly interrupted when singer/guitarist Ferdinando "HM" M. was involved in a life-threatening car accident that left him unable to play for months.
Recording-sessions were resumed and completed in May 2017 at SPVN Studio in Italy, while mixing and mastering were done in June 2017 at Planet-Z studio (Hadley, Massachussets) by Chris "Zeuss" Harris The album is due in fall 2017 on Agonia Records.
In the words of the band, "The new album is another step into our constant evolution. Our trademark sound is still there but this record is heavier than anything we've done before. It's a varied one and it includes some new solutions that might catch some people off guard. It's a pissed-off record but also extremely gloomy". More...
