Warbeast Streaming "Punishment For Gluttony"

As Texas thrash group Warbeast prepares for the release of the "Enter The Arena" album through Housecore Records in early August, today molten new track "Punishment For Gluttony" comes online and can be heard below.

Issues Warbeast guitarist Scott Shelby of the new track, "'Punishment...' is a power house song that has all the key elements that make thrash what it is. When it was written I knew this was a heavyweight contender for us."

Adds vocalist Bruce Corbitt, "Thanks to Revolver for the premiere of one of my favorite tracks off our new album! To me this song is vintage Texas thrash and defines what Warbeast is all about... pure aggression and adrenaline from start to finish.

"For the lyrics, I envisioned a guy like Tony Montana, who does everything in life to the extreme. So much so that he becomes his own worst enemy. There are some actual lines in this song directly from the movie Scarface that some of you will probably catch. Luckily before I had to retire we performed this song live several times... and it always got a good reaction from the crowd. So, I'm really excited that the rest of the world is finally able to hear it." More...

Breaking News

Linkin Park Front Man Reportedly Commits Suicide

Update: the singer's death has now been confirmed with the L.A. County coroner by AP News.

TMZ is reporting that Chester Bennington of Linkin Park has passed away from an apparent suicide at the age of 41.

The celebrity gossip site issued this update:

"Law enforcement sources tell us the singer hanged himself at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates in L.A. County. His body was discovered Thursday just before 9 AM.

"Chester was married with 6 children from 2 wives. The singer struggled with drugs and alcohol for years. He had said in the past he had considered committing suicide because he had been abused as a child by an older male."

This news follows in the wake of Chris Cornell from Soundgarden's suicide back in May, who was a close friend of Bennington.

Linkin Park's latest album "One More Light," which took a major turn away from the group's nu-metal beginnings, was released earlier this year and the band was scheduled to kick off a tour at the end of the month. More...

Apothesary Releases New Video

Two weeks out from the release of Apothesary's latest album "Accept Loss Forever" on M-Theory Audio, the Nor Cal band releases another promo video, this time for the song “You’ve Met with a Terrible Fate, Haven’t You?” once again produced by Tsunami Films.

"We're all extremely happy to premiere 'You've Met with a Terrible Fate, Haven't You?' on Bravewords! This song was one of the last to be written for the album - at a time when you couldn't force me to write much of anything,” explains guitarist Clayton Cagle.

Clayton goes on to say, “You've Met's lyrics deal with a pretty fragile point where I was struggling to find value in myself. I was stuck sort of contemplating who in my life really mattered and who I felt still cared. The list seemed short, as it usually does for someone in that state of mind, so the lyrics really serve to reflect that feeling of hopelessness I held in that moment. It was a very dark time, for sure, so I'm grateful I had a pen and a notebook to spill those thoughts onto."

Apothesary describe the emotionally charged "Accept Loss Forever" as an ode to suffering, as the album chronicles the various challenges and difficulties the group has overcome. If you missed it, the lyric video for "Tempest (Even Tide)" can be seen here. More...

Bloodstock Announces Final 2017 Bands

With three weeks to go til the metal hoards descend on Catton Park for a weekend of heavy merriment, the Bloodstock organizers are pleased to reveal the final bands for this year's edition, issuing the following statement:

"Joining the Ronnie James Dio main stage on Sunday will be hotly tipped five-piece Venom Prison. The Welsh death metallers romped home with the Best New Band gong at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards last month.

"Regrettably, we’ve two switches as Mantar had to withdraw from their slot on the Sophie Lancaster stage on Saturday, but the very capable Red Rum will fill their boots. Hailing from the Saxon county of Notts, don’t miss this folk-metal collection of cut-throat pirates, epic Vikings, and bloodthirsty warriors!

"Also due to circumstances beyond our control, Scarab will no longer be able to appear, so UK thrash heroes Xentrix will make a welcome return debuting their new singer (who they met at Bloodstock last year) and step into their Saturday evening Sophie Stage spot.

"Bloodstock can also now announce the final batch of bands from this year’s Metal 2 The Masses competition. Performing on the Hobgoblin New Blood stage Friday will be Hitchin victors Raze The Void with their brand of prog meets melo-death, Oxford metal champions K-Lacura, and tech riffers Embodiment who won in Bristol. Saturday welcomes Yorkshire metalheads Hoofknuckle, who took first prize in Selby, and Lincs tog dogs Hundred Year Old Man. More...
