Enthroned Parts With Bassist
After ten years of membership, Phorgath has decided to leave Enthroned. The band will continue with a new member and looks forward to the forthcoming concerts and recording an eleventh album later this year.
Phorgath comments: "I would like to say a big 'thank you' to Enthroned for doing my part on these four albums and for giving me the opportunity to produce three of them. I will miss being with and travelling the world with the guys. I have only good memories, but it's time for me and Enthroned to focus on our new projects. Hail Enthroned & The Blackened Horde."
Enthroned had this to say: " We're sad to see Phorgath go, but we totally respect his decision and send him all our support for the future. The past ten years have been beyond intense, we've gone through a lot together, as brothers, as musicians and as partners in crime. There is no animosity or tension between us. All our best wishes go to Phorgath; may all your future projects go according to your plans!
"The four of us will now continue with a new bass player, who is none other than long-time friend Norgaath, known for his duties within Nightbringer / Coldborn /Grimfaug. We're looking forward to finishing the composition and starting the recording of the new album with Norgaath and go on the road together." More...

Beneath Posts "Eyecatcher" Video
Next month, Icelandic death metal unit Beneath will unleash third full-length album, "Ephemeris." Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Fredrik Nordström at the acclaimed Studio Fredman in the fall of 2016, "Ephemeris" features new recruit Mike Heller at the drum stool.
The result is nine tracks of relentless brutality, and today one of those cuts comes online. Check out the "Eyecatcher" lyric video below.
Notes guitarist Unnar Sigurðsson: "'Ephemeris' is our very best release so far. We wanted to do an album more dynamic and natural than those before and we are extremely proud of the outcome. It has elements from all of us combined into something very different from the other releases."
Adds Jóhann Ingi Sigurðsson, "'Ephemeris' has been a demanding album for us personally and in many ways, it represents a turning point for the band. We've always pushed ourselves in ways that keep us invested and engaged in our music, and on this album, that meant making big changes to our overall sound. There are songs that are a marriage of pure heaviness and brutality, while on the other spectrum there are some very challenging technical arrangements pushing the limits of our playing abilities. In the end, we ended up with an album that feels musically multidimensional and that we are extremely proud of." More...
