Rosetta Announces New Album, Tour
Philadelphia avant-metal band Rosetta will embark on a headline North American tour this fall in support of forthcoming 6th studio album, "Utopioid," which is due out on September 1st. The band will be supported by Tucson sludge act North, and Rosetta also had this to say:
“We're thrilled to play shows throughout the Western US and Canada this Fall, in support of our new album Utopioid. And we're especially proud to be joined by our longtime friends in North, who we've had the pleasure to tour with several times over the years.
"Even beyond our brotherly kinship, they bring a level of inspired creativity to the stage night after night. For our part, we're crafting a setlist pulling from the new album as well as many of our past releases, and look forward to connecting with old and new friends along the way. Can't wait to see you out there."
Guitarist / vocalist Eric Jernigan further states: "Composing 'Utopioid,' we were wholly devoted to realizing the concept, disciplining ourselves to let the narrative shape all parts of the album -- not just the lyrics, but everything down to the subtle ways rhythm or effects could alter the mood. We quickly let go of the imperative to write for live performance; although we will play many of these songs live, we felt freedom to explore the furthest reaches of our skills and imaginations." Exhumed Unveils New Album
Lock the mausoleum doors and chain up the cemetery gates, because the long-standing gore metal maniacs from Exhumed re-emerge with disgusting new album "Death Revenge."
The band's sixth full-length is a concept album: a musical melodrama in thirteen parts based on shocking true events. "Death Revenge" takes place in the late 1820s in Edinburgh, Scotland and tells the macabre tale of a series of brutal murders where the victims' cadavers were sold to anatomists, amid a grisly underground trade of grave-robbery.
Recorded with producer Jarrett Pritchard (Goatwhore, Eternal, Gruesome), "Death Revenge" takes the band's signature gore-drenched, death metal mayhem to theatrical and ghastly new depths. The cover illustration is by Orion Landau with interior illustrations by Lucas Ruggieri.
Frontman Matt Harvey comments: "We're very excited to see this record come out. It's been a long time since we've fucked up your stereos! I think this record has a darker vibe than the last two, with a pretty gnarly tale of grave-robbery, dissection, murder, and all sorts of general skullduggery. We dig it and we hope you filthy animals will too." More...

Decrepit Birth Posts Playthrough Video
U.S. technical death metal crew Decrepit Birth has shared a playthrough video for the song "Hieroglyphic," taken from new album "Axis Mundi," out now via Agonia Records (Europe / ROW) and Nuclear Blast Records (North America).
"We’ve gone through an evolution throughout the years" says founding member and primary songwriter Matt Sotelo. "The last couple of albums we had, 'Diminishing Between Worlds' and 'Polarity,' were more progressive death metal. They were different from '…And Time Begins,' which is a different genre of death metal. It’s more brutal.
"I’m the type of guy who likes to experiment. '…And Time Begins' has no solos. It’s all really fast palm-muted riffs. The other albums breathed more with the guitars. I let chords ring out on 'Diminishing Between Worlds' and 'Polarity.' 'Axis Mundi' is combination of all the stuff I’m into. I like it a lot right now. It’s more melodic. The riffs repeat intentionally. I want to have fun with these songs".
