Today we're teaming up with hard rocking quintet Lydia Can't Breathe to premiere a video for "Adventure Out," taken off upcoming album "Tastes New" that is due out October 10th.
The video clip tells the story of a guy that picks up a girl at a bar and what ensues after their encounter. Fans of Killswitch Engage and Atreyu will want to check this one out below. Vocalist Kyle Bolduc comments on the clip:
"We are proud to announce the video release for 'Adventure Out' the first single off our upcoming album 'Tastes New.' The song was written after a night out with my drummer Josh. It is based on a guy meeting an attractive female while out with his friends.
"After pursuing her, the two hook up, however the guy moves on quickly and she is left upset thinking about what they could have had. We wanted to write something relatable from both perspectives. As an example of how love can be cruel and one sided at times. This song is ultimately about the trials of finding love and realizing things are not always what they seem." More...

Pit Stories: Gothic Throw Down
Today we've got a midweek Pit Story for you all about the mosh!
After eight year olds being carted on stage at a festival and a very out of place band at a black metal ritual, this week we're headed back where we belong: throwing down in the pit!
Vocalist Raf Salazar from Century Media rock band Loaded Guns recalls this story about learning your place in the pit:
I remember being at a Marilyn Manson concert in the pit & going absolutely nuts (how you're supposed to) but this one tough looking dude wearing a pentagram on his a back is looking very annoyed & trying to protect his girlfriend from us maniacs.
Anyway the pit is super crowded (It's Marilyn fucking Manson) & you can tell he is getting increasingly annoyed with the pushing / moving crowd. Anyway, I accidentally fall on him & he picks me up & tries to punch me, I duck & instead he punches another really big gothic guy & they go at it. Anyway pentagram dude gets beat up & when security came they escorted only him out. Was definitely a fun time & hopefully he learned a lesson.
Loaded Guns just released debut EP "Unstoppable" this past Friday, August 25th through Century Media Record. Check out a music video for "Bring Us Down," produced and directed by Matt Akana, in the player below. More...

Fleurety announced the third studio album entitled "The White Death" and released the first song "Lament Of The Optimist," which you can check out below. The album is set for release on October 27th via Peaceville Records. Pre-order now at this location.
"The White Death" is another dark and disturbing experimentalism from the Norwegian avantgarde-metal legends. Fleurety formed in Ytre Enebakk, Norway in 1991, and are known for an experimental and boundary-breaking approach to black metal. Peaceville Records is proud to welcome them to the label’s roster for their upcoming opus.
The new album marks almost two decades since the release of "Department of Apocalyptic Affairs," and shows the band returning to the style of the legendary debut "Min Tid Skal Komme" (1995); however, this time the music is more experimental, sarcastic and concise. The lineup for "The White Death" features guitarist Alexander Nordgaren and drummer/vocalist Svein Egil “Zweizz” Hatlevik, now joined by bassist/vocalist Czral-Michael Eide (Virus, Aura Noir), vocalist Linn Nystadnes (Deathcrush, Oilskin), plus flutist Krizla (Tusmørke, Alwanzatar) and backing vocalist Filip Roshauw (The Switch).
"The White Death" was recorded by the band themselves and mixed by godfather of Norwegian noise music, Lasse Marhaug. Mastering was performed by longstanding partner of the band Greg Chandler (Esoteric) at Priory Studios, with artwork courtesy of Trine+Kim Design Studio (Ulver, Darkthrone).

The band is often lumped in the doom category but their sound is most often described as sludgy math rock, “Neurosis as a stripped down, noise rock outfit” (noecho.net).

Cripper Wants You To Follow Me "Into The Fire"
Trying to describe Cripper's musical style can be challenging. Maybe as early as 2014 with the album Hyëna, but definitely now in 2017 with the barnstorming "Follow Me: Kill!," you cannot simply file the five-piece from Hannover, Germany, as a thrash band. The album will be available on September 15th via Metal Blade Records, with pre-orders available at this location.
Ever since the debut album, the band has shifted from rather technical thrash towards a unique approach to extreme metal. All the while, Cripper has never been afraid of transgressing genre boundaries, giving free reign to creativity.
About the new album, the group says: "These are ten ass-kicking tracks, at times lightning fast, at other times atmospheric or epic, but never standard fare - always intense and firing on all cylinders."
"Follow Me: Kill!" adds fresh, exciting elements into Cripper's music. Still, the band never forgets where it came from and stays true within the frames of musical progression. The result is an effort that maintains the heaviness and groove the band is known for, while also containing atmospheric parts, capably realized and granting diversity.
Cripper unfolds their creative potential far beyond their music. Apart from designing their artwork and merchandise by themselves, they even conceive and produce their ambitious video clips on their own. This is also why Cripper appeals to big business partners such as the international label Metal Blade Records. For the second time around, the company will promote an album of theirs, with plans to take them to the next level with Follow Me: Kill!, and beyond!
The track listing is as follows:
1. Pressure (available for streaming here)
2. Into The Fire
3. World Coming Down (limited Digipak CD only)
4. Mother
5. Shoot or Get Shot
6. Bleeding Red

In Twilight's Embrace Releases Video For New Song
Polish death metal veterans In Twilight's Embrace recently announced that the fourth studio effort from the band will be entitled "Vanitas." The album drops on September 22nd via Arachnophobia Records. Today, the band premiered the stunning music video for the new track “As Future Evaporates." You can check it out at this location, or even more conveniently in the player at the bottom.
"Vanitas" was recorded, mixed and mastered in 2017 by Marcin Rybicki at Vintage Records and Left Hand Sounds.
The video was shot "amidst the woods and lakes of the Western Pomerania region, where I come from," explains vocalist, Cyprian Lakomy. The band traveled to a desolate island in that region, with no access to electric power and a very weak cell phone reception. Cyprian visits this place whenever he needs to detach himself from people and everyday realities. He confesses that "the solitude and total silence of this place enabled us to capture the mood of the song accurately."
The video reflects the atmosphere of the entire new album. Cyprian explains: "The video conveys the leitmotif of our entire new album – that death accompanies our whole lives. We encounter it at different stages and its growing awareness should drive us to make the most out of the time we were given. Sadly, few have enough guts to aim at something more than barely surviving." More...

Five Of The Eyes Premieres New Single
Ready for some catchy prog to kick off the day? Today we've got the exclusive premiere of new single "Mirrors" from Portland, Maine group Five of the Eyes -- check it out below and let us know what you think!
"Mirrors" comes off the band's soon to be released LP "The Venus Transit," set to drop on September 29th. The album was tracked at Maine's The Halo studio with producer Jonathan Wyman. Five Of The Eyes will subsequently embark on a month long national tour to support the release alongside In The Presence of Wolves.
Lead singer Darrell Foster comments: "'Mirrors' is a passionate moment of self awareness. It’s the realization that only when I'm fighting for what I love do I feel alive. When my life shatters around me, which version of myself will I reconstruct from the broken pieces?”
Drummer Pete Griffith adds: "'Mirrors' is an expression of that fear and loneliness, the things in life that tear us down and drive us apart, and how they make us feel. It is the return to the dried up garden yet to be watered."
Guitarist Ned Rich caps us off by stating: "Like most of our songs, 'Mirrors' started out with the instrumental arrangement, which started with Tim’s guitar line. Tom and I came up with the chords that went underneath it, and that became the main groove of the song. We recorded an instrumental demo which I think was at least 6 minutes long. When Darrell was writing lyrics and the vocal melody, he trimmed that demo down to like 4:15, which I was initially pretty hesitant about. At the time I think it was the softest tune we had done, and I liked the long meandering path of the tune. Over time and after the vocal part had solidified, I grew to love the arrangement and the arc of the song. We decided to start the song with drums, which is cool because we don’t have a lot of moments like that, and also because it shows off the dope drum sound Wyman crafted for us.” More...

I can’t disclose too much about the deal, but building up this company to a million record sales in just five years is a tremendous accomplishment for the fans, our artists and the team. I’m humbled and appreciate each and every band I’ve ever had the honor of developing at Artery Recordings. As we hand over the keys to Warner, I’m not quite sure their plans for the label or catalog, but I hope they keep the legacy alive. With new Slaves and Capture albums on the horizon, I’m sure the fans will be ecstatic."
In the past Artery Recordings' output included releases from Attila, Chelsea Grin, Kublai Khan and various others. Vents guitarist Jacob Harmond of Chelsea Grin, who put out 3 albums through the label, on the matter via Twitter: More...
