Glass Mind Releasing "Doedcaedro"

Mexico City-based instrumental prog metal foursome Glass Mind released the “Doedcaedro” album in Europe back in May via Rockshots Records, and now North American fans will get in on the action this coming September 8th.

"Doedcaedro” is a conceptual album where each song represents an element of nature: fire, air, water, earth and ether. Because there are no lyrics in Glass Mind’s music, this allows the group to transcend borders and boundaries and make connections with all lovers of music no matter what their nationalities.

Influenced by everything from Metallica and Dream Theater through to Ryuichi Sakamoto and Philip Glass, guitarist Pablo Berthir describes the band's sound as “eclectic, spiritual, dramatic, colourful and energetic.”

Serge Timmers Releasing New Book

Music journalist Serge Timmers (Merchants Of Air) is pleased to announce that he will be releasing his debut book "Cecilia's World" this fall. The book will be available in both PDF and physical versions.

Because of her father's job in a major bank, Cecilia and her family have moved many times. Now, a few months before her seventeenth birthday, she once again finds herself in a completely new environment, an apartment on the eleventh floor overlooking the big city. On the first day in her new school, she meets her music theory teacher Johan. He and her other new friends gradually initiate the girl into the widespread world of alternative music. But as times are troubled and political games are being played, Cecilia learns more than she had ever before.

You can pre-order your copy via the crowd funding campaign here. Here's what a few bands that appear in the book had to say:

Telepathy: “It's an honour for Telepathy to be featured in Serge Timmers latest novel and we have great memories of the concert that this scene is based on."

Dead Neanderthals: "When we started the band, it never crossed our minds that someone was going to mention us in a book. But now it happened and it is super cool!" More...

Sicarius Premieres Lyric Video For New Song

Sicarius premiered the title track from the upcoming new album "Serenade of Slitting Throats" over at Invisible Oranges at this location or by simply pressing play in the player at the bottom. In addition, the band unveiled the artwork for the album (shown below).

“This is probably my favorite track on the album,” explains guitarist Argyris. “It just has everything in it -- power, speed, violence, and atmosphere. It's a very well-rounded hitter that I'm very proud of both on a musical standpoint and a lyrical one. It just flowed together on its own when I composed it. It made perfect sense to make it the flagship track of the album, and unleash it first as an appropriate means of showcasing where Sicarius is at first glance. It swallows you up in a wave of violence and grabs you by the throat and only relents at the end, which symbolizes the death of the quarry.”

“The lyric video was directed by David Thelen. I saw his work for the German band Attic and thought it was fantastic. His lyric videos are gritty yet well composed. We were kind of in a pinch and he was very kind to fit us into his schedule and delivered a great piece. He captured the vision that myself and album artist/designer Misanthropic Art had for the visual aspect. We couldn't be happier.”

"Serenade of Slitting Throats" will be released via M-Theory Audio on Friday October 13th. The album can be pre-ordered now via the label shop over here and will be available on CD, as well as a limited edition old-school cassette with red shell (only 100 copies available) and exclusive t-shirt bundle options. In further celebration of "Mutilated and Assimilated" release, the band has prepared a new music video for the pummeling single, "Outback Incest Clan", which can be seen below.

Guitarist Jeremy Wagner commented: "What's in a name? Our song titles usually say a lot, and OUTBACK INCEST CLAN should tell you what's in store. I got the idea for the subject matter straight from our sick vocalist, Damian Leski, who has can given me a few lyrical ideas. This song is based on TRUE EVENTS! I'll give you the Wikipedia lowdown: It's about the 'Colt family incest case,' dubbed by media as the 'Colt incest clan,' an Australian family discovered in 2012 to have been engaging in four generations of incest beginning with 'Tim and June Colt,' a brother and sister who emigrated from New Zealand in the 1970s. The family grew to nearly 40 members ranging from grandparents to mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, aunts, uncles, nephews, brothers and sisters all engaging in various forms of incest. Many of the children suffered from deformities and medical problems. More...

A New Era Of Emortualis Is Born, New EP Detailed

Emortualis was formed under the name Hellraiser in 1989 to play pure death metal. After some rehearsals and gigs, the demo titled "Written by Death" was recorded in 1991. Grandiose Malice Announces First, And Final, Album

Hells Headbangers is proud to present Grandiose Malice's first (and final) album "The Eternal Infernal" on CD and vinyl LP formats.

The album is the final will and testament of Steve Childers, otherwise widely known in the metal underground as Tregenda, founding guitarist of the legendary Black Witchery. Worldwide, Childers was revered as a master of stark simplicity, his riffs burrowing immediately into the brain with total violence and force, but underneath all that sturm und drang lay a master songwriter. Sadly, Childers departed this mortal coil on February 2, 2016.

Before his untimely passing, Childers was working on a new solo-project, and had a demo for it. He sent the demo to a few close friends for feedback, but tragically, it was never released. Within days of his death, Demonic Christ's Dana Duffey (who received the demo tracks from Steve) reached out to Joel Bagley, Steve's best friend, to discuss making sure Steve's work would not be forgotten and be given a proper release on a killer underground label done the way Joel and Dana feel Steve would have wanted it. After shopping labels, they landed on Hells Headbangers, which was eager to be a part of making sure Steve's legacy lived on. More...

2. Unearthly Glow
3. Forefathers
4. Terraforming (Feat. Maurice de Jong)
