Scratch Releasing New EP, Posts "Das Waltz" Clip
Punk pioneers Glen and Chuck, aka the brothers Stilphen, are perhaps best known for their time as teenagers in Boston's Gang Green from 1984-1986, at the very height of the band's relevance and popularity.
Chuck wrote the ferocious music for the band's biggest song, the party anthem "Alcohol" (which also appeared on the soundtrack of Jackass 3D), and the brothers appear on the band's most successful record "Another Wasted Night." 30 years later, the brothers still get along.
The new EP by Scratch, "El Monstro," contains four songs - two tracks which appeared on 2013 compilation "Drop The Needle," along with two never-before released songs, recorded in 1995 and shelved (and nearly forgotten about), until now. A limited pressing 12" Green Vinyl LP will be released in September. More...

The response to this record has been really, really overwhelming. There have been some pretty dramatic changes in the way that our audiences react to our songs, and I couldn’t be happier about that.”
Baroness recently announced an Australian/New Zealand tour for December, marking the band’s first Oceanian shows since the release of "Purple." More...

"Voice from the Void" will drop on October 14th worldwide and was recorded by Jesse Gander at Rain City Recordings. Regarding the new track, guitarist Chris Dyck comments:
"Once the song started to take shape we noticed it was headed into power ballad territory (for Anciients). We all had a laugh, started calling it 'The November Rainer,' and just went with it. I love how this song turned out. [To me] there's shades of late 80's Metallica/GnR riff-wise and shades of Soungarden vocally. I'm glad we put a song like this on Voice of the Void, and how it opens the door for us to do more slow and wide-open songs in the future. We really hope everyone enjoys it!" More...

This comes as great disappointment to everyone involved, not least of all us in Gloryhammer, as we have invested vast amounts of time and money in trying to make this happen. In no way, shape or form, are the show promoters responsible for this, and we really hope to make it up to them (and all of you fans) as soon as we can.
"The positive news is that we are planning to make this up early next year with our first full headlining tour in North America...more details to come."

Vanexa To Release "Too Heavy To Fly"
Italy's Vanexa is set to make its return with the first new full length release in 22 years. On October 25th, the band will issue the new album "Too Heavy To Fly" via Punishment 18 Records.
Vanexa was one of the most prominent Italian metal bands from the late '70s and early '80s. The band was formed in Savona in 1979 with a typical British sound in the wake of the NWOBHM with the debut album "Vanexa."
The second album "Back From The Ruins" (recorded in the legendary Carimate Studios) was released in 1988 and was received as a metal milestone. Following the first two albums there was a break of a few years after which the band was back with the new album “Against The Sun," in which the vocal duties were assumed by Roberto Tiranti (Labyrinth, Wonderworld).
After extensive touring to promote "Against the Sun," the band members took an extended break to launch new musical projects. After the departure of original guitarist and founding member Roberto Merlone, Vanexa re-formed in 2009 with a new line-up featuring two guitarists: Artan Selishta and Alex Graziano.
From 2010 to 2015 the band temporarily quit making music, however some members kept working in various concerts around Italy until the F.I.M. Festival of Genoa in the August of 2015. There, the band reformed to play with new guitarist Pier Gonella and were introduced to who would become the band's new singer Andrea ‘Ranfa’ Ranfagni. More...

Hanging Garden Releases "Penumbra" Lyric Video
Hanging Garden released a lyric video for the new song "Penumbra," which features guest vocalist Mikko Kotamäki (Swallow the Sun). The song will appear on the new EP "Hereafter," slated for release on October 7th via Lifeforce Records.
Past – present – future: this triad is omnipresent on Hanging Garden’s new EP “Hereafter”. The fourth album of the Finns - “Blackout/Whiteout” – was released a year ago. Since then, the band engaged in reflecting its own musical progression in order to find new approaches for further development. In doing so, Hanging Garden is well-supported by prominent vocalists such as Mikko Kotamäki (Swallow the Sun), Alexander Högbom (October Tide, Centinex, Volturyon), and Victor Wegeborn (The Moth Gatherer).
With changing the context and adding guest singers, the atmospheric sound of the Finns further gains in importance and emotional impression. Dark and light moments – it is both in there. “Hereafter” runs through Hanging Garden's career, but also gives an idea of what the future of this open-minded and adventurous band will sound like.
The track list for "Hereafter" is:
1. Penumbra (Feat. Mikko Kotamäki (Swallow The Sun))
2. Sirkle of Onan (Feat. Victor Wegeborn (The Moth Gatherer))
