Mist Of Misery Announces EP Release

After sophomore full-length album "Absence" released back in 2016, Mist Of Misery is returning with new EP "Shackles Of Life," which is the first of the two chapters to be opened and will drop August 31st.

Black Lion Records comments: "The first chapter of dual mini albums, 'Shackles of Life,' features some of the gloomier and utter beautiful crafted work in a long time. it’s simply one of those releases that rarely comes out; if you've enjoyed 'Absence' then this will be a step above. You can expect nothing but greatness of pure melody and melancholy. The mini album offers a fresh new sound, but a good resemblance to the last album 'Absence.' The second chapter — 'Fields of Isolation' — will be followed later of this year or the earlier of the next year.

"This EP also marks the sad departure of Erik Molnar's history in Mist of misery, he took this decision because of being busy with recording and writing for the new Hyperion album. Erik will of course still linger around for this mini release to watch as everyone absorbs it."

The band had this to say: “The themes on both mini albums vary quite a lot from our earlier works, but the original concept of Mist Of Misery is still there. Those who have heard our latest release, 'Absence,' will surely find some similarities to both that album and also to our earlier releases.” More...

Thy Antichrist Signs With Napalm

Hailing from Colombia, South America, Thy Antichrist is an existentialist black metal group showcasing extreme elements that's been making waves in the underground metal community since 1998.

In 2016, Thy Antichrist found a home with Extreme Management Group, as well as joining the roster of booking agency Continental Concerts, and now the band has announced a worldwide signing with Napalm Records.

Andres Vargas comments: "Someone from the past told me that dreams can come true if you work hard for them every day. If you fight for the candle of your dreams, someday they can turn into incandescent fire! It's an honor to be the first Latin American band formed in Colombia to be part of the prestigious Napalm Records roster.

"I want to express a sincere gratitude to my brothers in the band, Robert, Ben and Chris also to our manager Mark Müller, Extreme Management Group and J-F Dagenais, but mainly to our FANS and friends around the world for supporting Thy Antichrist throughout the years. You are our reason to be! I'm accepting with humility the opportunity to be part of the Napalm Records family. A new journey just starts and we are working hard to deliver the best of our wicked art! Cuernos Arriba!"

Warbeast Posts Full Album

"Enter The Arena," the new full-length album from Texas thrash warriors Warbeast, will make its final descent this Friday via Housecore Records. In advance of its release, today the full record has come online and can be heard below.

The album was captured at Philip H. Anselmo's famed Nodferatu's Lair, mixed by Mike Thompson at the Riff Factory, and mastered by Lee Russell. "Enter The Arena" features new Warbeast recruits -- guitarist Drew Shoup and bassist Lyric Ferchaud - and will see release on August 4th.

This release follows vocalist Bruce Corbitt's recent esophageal cancer diagnosis. A treatable though rarely curable disease, Corbitt faces the likelihood that he will never be able to sing again. The singer, who recently completed an intensive schedule of radiation treatments, played his final show on May 27th at the Rail Club in Fort Worth.

Last month the band played a release show for "Enter The Arena" with vocals handled by Philip H. Anselmo, Edwin Neal (Texas Chain Saw Massacre), and Wayne Abney (Hammer Witch) with Corbitt performing a few refrains. More...
