U.D.O. Reveals New Album Details
German metal gods U.D.O. will release their new album "Steelfactory" on August 31st worldwide via AFM Records. An official video for the new song "One Heart One Soul" is available for streaming below.
With "Steelfactory," U.D.O return to their core competence, clearly influenced by their past shows with Dirkschneider, the songs in their rousingly simple straightness have a hymn character, as it is only known from the past.
"Steelfactory" has become a timeless metal album and thus the impressive statement of a master of his craft. With its earthy, punchy and handmade sound - with the participation of the Danish producer Jacob Hansen (among others Volbeat) - "Steelfactory" meets the nerve of the time, which may be triggered again since the successful Dirkschneider tour worldwide.
Steelfactory will available in the following formats:
- Ltd. Boxset
- Ltd. Digipak
- Gtf. Red/Yellow Splatter 2-Vinyl / AFM Exclusive
- Gtf. Silver/Black Marbled 2-Vinyl / AFM Exclusive

Korpiklaani Posts New Video Online
Finnish Folk Metal Superstars Korpiklaani are set to release their new studio album 'Kulkija' ('Wanderer') on September 7th 2018 via Nuclear Blast. Today, the band have unveiled the second single, "Harmaja," in the form of a thought-provoking music video. Watch the clip, directed by Ville Lipiäinen (Nightwish, Beast In Black, Powerwolf), below.
Says Jonne; "'Harmaja' is an unusual Korpiklaani song with its slow tempo and emotional strength. The song is about longing and I managed to charge it with a great emotional atmosphere. When making the album we mostly used the first takes; we didn't get stuck in details when there was no particular need to.
"I was surprised - although in a positive sense - that Nuclear Blast wanted to release 'Harmaja' as a single and a video. Usually they prefer more uptempo, fun drinking songs. The new album 'Kulkija' of course has that material too since being over an hour long it contains the entire scope of different emotions. More...

Psychostick Brings The Joy To London
One of the great things about heavy metal is the ability to laugh at itself. Going back to the days of spoofs like Bad News and Spinal Tap to the more modern takes like Okilly Dokilly, Dethklok and Steel Panther. One of the most popular group of jokers in metal today is Psychostick of Tempe, Arizona (though drummer Alex "Shmalex" Dontre is Canadian.) Facing the task of celebrating Independence Day in London (which was continuously referred to as "traitor's day" by the crowd,) the band opted to perform without a support band and instead play two sets at The Borderline in Soho.
First of all, The Borderline is a very impressive venue. It comes across as somewhere between a jazz club and a love letter to Stanley Kubrick, drawing comparisons to the Korova Milk Bar from A Clockwork Orange in the main area and a surreal lighting in the corridor leading to the toilets and backstage exit which was reminiscent of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Drinks were also surprisingly cheap and the bar staff were superb. I personally would like more gigs to be held here in the future. More...
