Former Malevolent Creation Singer Passes Away
Former Malevolent Creation frontman Bret Hoffman has passed away at the age of 51, following a bout with colon cancer, a message from his wife has confirmed. Her post on Facebook reads:
"Today is the saddest day of my life I just lost my soul mate the love of my my best friend has passed away I will always love u Bret Malev Hoffmann RIP my love."
Hoffman performed in the first three Malevolent Creation albums and was also known for his work with Fire For Effect and Down The Drain.
Sarcófago To Re-release "The Worst"
Greyhaze Records has announced the August 24th reissue of Sarcófago's The Worst on vinyl and cassette formats. The reintroduction of this classic album for the first time on vinyl and tape, complementing the already-existing CD version, comes with massive audio and visual improvements. The album's audio went through a high-quality remastering process, including audio sourced from original master tapes. The Worst's reissue also comes with an expanded visual package including previously unavailable photos from the album's photo session.
Originally released in 1996, Sarcófago's The Worst was to be the band's last full-length album. Despite criticism on its use of a drum machine, the album serves as a manifest of metal's elemental counter-culture stance. Crowbar Bassist To Leave The Band
New Orleans metal veterans Crowbar has announced that original bass player Todd Strange, who rejoined the group in 2016, will once again be leaving the band following their tour in support of the 20th anniversary of "Odd Fellows Rest." A message from the band reads as follows:
"Crowbar will be performing Odd Fellows Rest 20th anniversary show at Southport Music Hall August 4th! We did it at Roadburn Fest in The Netherlands, and want to share this classic in our hometown!! Sexy T will be playing this show but will no longer be our touring bassist. All of us in Crowbar believe that family comes first! Gonna be a great show!! Be there!!!"

Devin Townsend has debuted a live video of “By Your Command” being performed in Bulgaria with the aid of the Orchestra of Plovdiv State Opera. The footage comes from his brand new live set, “Ocean Machine – Live At The Ancient Roman Theatre Plovdiv“ which was released on July 06th. That release primarily captures a special 20th anniversary performance of “Ocean Machine: Biomech” that took place on September 22nd, 2017 at the Ancient Roman Theatre in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
