Unburnt Posts First Single

Guitarist Bo Louther and drummer Joe Mullen from the powerhouse melodic death metal outfit Odium have joined forces with vocalist Eric Burnet, known for his work with Derelict. The trio's combined efforts have yielded a band named Unburnt.

Citing influences that include Children of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir, The Black Dahlia Murder, and The Faceless, Unburnt's music is a death metal assault reinforced with black metal melodies and atmosphere.

The debut single “Harnessing Black Flame” is the band's first collaborative composition and can be heard below.

“I was in the midst of writing new music for a heavier and darker project, and I got the idea to ask Eric if he'd be interested in putting vocals on it,” comments guitarist Bo Louther.

“This first song really spoke to me,” responds Burnet. “The lyrics are about turning the negative energies of depression and rage into positive personal power.”

Unburnt's lineup is rounded out by Joe Mullen, who also handled the production for the debut single at his own Joe Down Studios. “I initially got involved to help Bo track his guitars,” notes Mullen. “But after hearing the demo, I was pretty excited and got to work on my blasting chops.” More...

Inquisition Posts New Song Online

Inquisition just premiered another crushing new track off upcoming album, "Bloodshed Across The Empyrean Altar Beyond The Celestial Zenith." The new song, titled "Power From the Center of the Cosmic Black Spiral," is available below.

Regarding the new track, guitarist/vocalist Dagon comments: "'Power From The Center Of The Cosmic Black Spiral' - this is Inquisition in its mid paced, heavy and hypnotic form; classic Inquisition. Here we have tight neck breaking riffs and percussive rhythms while mixed with an open and wide atmospheric segment that comes later in the song opening an entire new dimension; this contrasting works with the song's theme of: death and destruction from chaos, perfection and creation from order all from within the center of the galactic battlefield where the gods of creation and the mechanics of the universe are one, working as destroyer and creator enabling cosmic evolution. In short, this is tribute to the center of galaxies and their law as an all consuming force, a great Satan."

The new album will be released by Season of Mist worldwide on August 26th, and the full track listing is as follows:

1. Intro: The Force Before Darkness
2. From Chaos They Came
3. Wings of Anu
4. Vortex From the Celestial Flying Throne of Storms
5. A Black Aeon Shall Cleanse
6. The Flames of Infinite Blackness Before Creation
7. Mystical Blood
8. Through the Divine Spirit of Satan a Glorious Universe is Known
9. Bloodshed Across The Empyrean Altar Beyond The Celestial Zenith
10. Power From the Center of the Cosmic Black Spiral
11. A Magnificent Crypt of Stars
12 Outro: The invocation of the absolute, the all, the Satan

Fire From The Gods Posts New Video

Straight from Austin, TX, the five piece Fire From The Gods will release Rise Records debut, "Narrative," on August 26th. The first single comes with music video "Excuse Me," which can be seen below.

Vocalist AJ Channer says: “This album is the personal narrative of a minority man living in major cities and being American. There’s a socio-economic theme throughout the whole record that carries from each song to song. It’s all about the underdog. We’ve all had to fight for everything we have in this band. The political climate in our country is quite racially and socially charged. There are a lot of issues and energy people are expressing along with misguided hate and anger. I want to channel this in music that can resonate. This is where we come from and who we are as a band.”

The Infamous Gehenna Announces Split Release

"Heavy Metal Suicide" pairs together The Infamous Gehenna and Bleach Everything, two intensely physical bands comprised completely of dyed-in-the-wool DIY punk lifers.

The Infamous Gehenna's contributions to "Heavy Metal Suicide: continue to thematically blur the lines between DIY and DUI with song titles on brand new scorchers "Looking To Score" and "Get Fucked Up!" Both tracks capture a point in the band's ongoing lyrical narrative of life and death where there is hardly any separation between the two and both are acceptable (so long as there is an escape therein).

Now scattered between Virginia and California, Bleach Everything turns in a third release (and second split) to date, this one fully embracing the tried and true philosophy of "short, fast, and loud," with each song hovering around the minute flat mark. Thematically, the band tackles topics like inauthenticity ("Witch, Please"), the environmental militancy of particular Godzilla rivals ("Silk And Scales"), and the strange phenomenon of many American adults attempting to address their inner voids with incessant breeding ("Human Mulligan").

For maximum impact across the audio-visual spectrum, "Heavy Metal Suicide" was mastered by Dan Randall at Mammoth Sound, and is packaged within the bleak and non-subtle artwork of Chris Norris (aka Steak Mtn), with two cover color variations being pressed: white/black/red and blue/black/red. Three vinyl colors (red, blue, white) round out the first pressing of this violent pairing. More...
