Slomatics Posts "Supernothing"

Slomatics today reveals "Supernothing," a new track from upcoming Black Bow Records album "Future Echo Returns." You can pre-order "Future Echo Returns" on CD at this location. The band also comments:

"We're really excited about the new album. It's the final part of the three album sequence we started with A Hocht, and hopefully brings together all the aspects we've touched on with that record and Estron.

"This one is more of everything and feels like our heaviest and most diverse so far. The narrative of the previous two records ends with this one, so there's a sense of finality throughout. We were delighted with the recording process both in Skyhammer and StartTogether, and trust us, if there was an amp or synth in either studio, it's on this record." More...

Draconian Cancels Upcoming Shows

Draconian has nixed a few upcoming European shows due to visa issues. The band issued this statement about the situation:

"We regret to inform our fans that we unfortunately had to cancel our upcoming shows in Germany (Sunstorm Festival & Rockharz Festival) and in Romania (Dark Bombastic Evening). Now let us shed the light of truth on the situation.

"As usual, the bureaucratic forces of 'you're just a case-number and we don't give a shit what plans you've made for this year' have decided that Heike should wait anything from 12 to 15 months for a residence permit renewal. This is largely due to the Migration board having their hands full with the refugee situation in Sweden.

"This however means that she is stuck in Sweden for the time being. Management is working hard behind the scenes to try speed up the process, so that hopefully no further cancellation (and frustrations) have to take place this year.

"We are truly sorry for those who spend their hard earned ching to come see this elusive gang of misfits we call Draconian. Telepathically join forces in your minds and send those good vibes toward Heike getting her visa sorted ASAP." More...

The Five Hundred Releases "Winters" Video

The Five Hundred just released a new music video for the song "Winters," which can be seen below. The band also comments:

"The track is about the miserable and negative people that try to bring you down to their level. The lyrics go: 'The winters of your grief, Shut off that sound it’s deafening, Ripping away belief, A worry that weighs a ton…'

"Every musician or band starting out has had to deal, at some point, with the naysayers, the killjoys and the downers - the people who are so miserable in their own existence that they spend their energy and time trying to bring others down. 'Get a real job. Get a career. Get a mortgage, a pension plan, financial security. Quit this rock n roll pipe dream.' So, this song goes out to them. All of that noise and negativity just spurs us on, and we wouldn't be where we are now if it wasn't for their inspiration.

"The video was recorded by Shaun Hodson of Loki Films, who's recently done some wicked videos for bands such as Black Tongue, Heart In Hand, and TRC. Filmed in some undisclosed location in the woods of Nottingham (we weren't allowed to be there and had to switch off the power and hide in the dark a few times so we wouldn't be spotted!). It was cold, rainy and miserable, which is exactly what we needed it to be for this video." More...

Hailing from South Wales, the aggressively nihilistic sludge / death metal group Tides Of Sulfur is on the cusp of unleashing an "Extinction Curse" upon all mankind this coming July 15th.

It's a call to action, a spit in the face of 21st century fascism. Every dog has its day, every empire crumbles, dictatorships fall, the truth always emerges."

The sludge veterans in -(16)- are pleased to share"Landloper," the latest single from their forthcoming seventh full-length album "Lifespan Of A Moth."

Comments -(16)-'s Cris Jerue, "The song 'Landloper' is a tension-filled little ditty that deals with the inner craving to quit everything and live off the grid. Or take up residence on a blanket at the beach. Or subsist in the doorway of a bank. It doesn't fucking matter.

"Just get yourself anywhere else as soon as possible and become a free, unfettered hominid before time runs out. It's easily the most negative, positivistic song on the record."

Ayin Aleph Releases "Crystal Bell" Video

Classically trained pianist, composer, vocalist Ayin Aleph recently released her operatic new single "Crystal Bell" via Elliptic Entertainment. Today, Ayin is finally giving fans what they've been waiting for by releasing an accompanying music video - a visually extravagant offering accenting the Baroque/opera-influenced metal style of the track.

The video for "Crystal Bell" was shot in Los Angeles over the course of three non-consecutive days. The video features three distinct locations, directed with the assistance of three different directors and cinematographers. Under the direction of Aying Alpeh, Denis Sobolev coordinated the group scenes, cinematographer and "Crystal Bell" video editor Gene Avakyan oversaw the glamour scenes and drone camera operation, and the underwater scenes were filmed with special techniques at the direction of Alex Sherman.

The song was "born in a moment of realization that we spend our lives searching for love while despising the ones who love us," states Ayin Alpeh. She adds, "The video marks a turning point of the visual and musical expression. Blurring the lines of fantasy and reality, the video portrays Ayin as an array of extravagant female archetypes - a sexy 50's pin-up character, an opera singer, a victim of drowning symbolizing love, a sexy vintage casino manager getting killed after a fight, and beyond. The video was shot in three days in Los Angeles with different cinematographers, notably because of the technical requirements of underwater filming and drone shots. Pulling together this profusion of elements with the amazing editing support of my drummer Shad Wilhelm was a challenging and tremendously rewarding experience!" More...

"The track ‘Buried With Him’ reveals a part of the spirituality of Baptism, our journey through the trials and conquests of this thing called ‘Life’, which is as much relating to ‘Death’ at the same time.

"Like much of the philosophy behind Baptism, it represents the Gnostic side of Satanism, the one holding the values of our true self.
