Enepsigos Signs With Osmose Productions
With debut full-length album “Plague of Plagues” released at the beginning of the year on Drakkar Productions, and with work progressing steadily on the follow-up album, black metal crew Enepsigos has now inked a deal with Osmose Productions.
The band was formed in the summer of 2016 by V.I.T.H.R, otherwise known as Doedsadmiral, the founder and frontman of Nordjevel, Svartelder, and Doedsvangr. For this project, V.I.T.H.R has called on the services of former Sarkom guitarist Straff and drummer Thorns (Blut Aus Nord, Fides Inversa, Frostmoon Eclipse).
Commenting on the decision to sign with Osmose, V.I.T.H.R had this to say: “It was a natural progression to a bigger label who could take us further along the road. I already knew how Osmose worked, because Nordjevel is signed with them, and it has been a close collaboration, with everyone having an input and exchanging ideas. It’s a very productive way to work as far as I’m concerned." More...
Tetrarch Unveils "Freak" Album
Tetrarch is currently trekking across the states on the "Scream Out Loud" tour, hyping fans up for new full-length album "Freak." Today, the band is thrilled to reveal confirmed details on that album, which is due hit stores on September 29th, 2017 and in the spirit of independence, pre-orders will go live on July 4th.
Check out the title track "Freak" below. Although "Freak" is not a concept album, the album title depicts themes close to lead guitarist Diamond Rowe's heart.
"'Freak' is basically about embracing the weird things about yourself that other people may find bizarre," says Rowe. "I guess you could say I'm a bit of a freak. I'm not what you would consider your typical guitar player in a metal band! Honestly, it's great though. I like seeing the look on people's faces when they find out how huge of a metalhead I am, and even more so when they see me on stage ripping it up with the guys. Essentially, I'm what some might consider an outcast, or a freak, and I love it and embrace it. This song and album are for the people who, like us, are willing to flaunt their individuality."
"Recording Freak in Denver, CO with Dave Otero was honestly such a privilege," adds Rowe. "We want to grow creatively with every release. We really tapped into a lot of different influences on this record and tried new things that we never did with some of our previous EP's. We challenged ourselves to think outside of the box, and are extremely happy with how it came out. In some ways, this record is a lot heavier than anything we have ever done, and in other ways it's a lot creepier and mysterious. I think there's a little something for everyone on this record." Blackfinger Announces New Album
Singer Eric Wagner - formerly of Trouble and currently of The Skull - brings his unique and legendary voice to the next Blackfigner album, "When Colors Fade Away." Now based in Pittsburgh, PA, Eric has a new Blackfginer lineup including another familiar name in doom circles, guitarist Terry Weston (Dream Death and Penance).
M-Theory Audio is pleased to announce a September 15th release date for the album on CD, limited edition colored vinyl and digital. Pre-order are up now at this location.
“Colors were a common theme throughout the first record… I think it was a reference for life, or maybe it was hope,” explains Eric Wagner. “What happens when colors start to fade or you feel like all hope is lost? I think there comes a time in everyone’s life when you need to confront your dark side in order to get to the light. When I saw the photographs of the old abandoned funeral home by Matt Bluejay, I thought it would make the perfect album cover for When Colors Fade Away, and the start of the journey to feel good about oneself again.” More...
Bonfire Signs With AFM Records
After German hard rock act Bonfire's latest studio records "Glörious" (2015) and "Byte The Bullet" (2017) both made it to the Top 50 of the German album chart and more than 160 live shows played in the last two years, AFM Records and Bonfire decided to strike a new path together.
During the more than 30 year-long history of the band, there were of course several different label partners releasing the sixteen studio records and some were not available at times. So in Autumn of 2017, big parts of Bonfire's back catalogue will be made available again before the new album will be released in Spring 2018.
Besides being in the studio to record their next record, Bonfire will be on tour for the rest of the year. Confirmed dates are: More...
Susperia Signs To Agonia Records, New Album Next
Norway's melodic extreme metal act Susperia, comprising former members of Dimmu Borgir and Satyricon, just inked a record deal with Agonia Records, with plans to release new album, "The Lyricist." By the same token, the band will close the eight-year gap that separates the last opus, "Attitude" (2009).
"The Lyricist" will be the first studio album to showcase new vocalist, Bernt Fjellestad (a.k.a. Dagon, Guardians of Time), who's official stage debut with the band was made at last year's 70,000 Tons Of Metal Festival at sea.
The band commented on the signing and upcoming material: "Susperia is proud to announce the signing with Agonia Records for our upcoming album 'The Lyricist.' It’s going to be a harder and more grim album, going back to Susperia’s black roots!"
Susperia may have it's roots in the Norwegian black metal scene, but it is merely a starting point for a band that describes the music as "extreme metal with melodic twists." A simple philosophy of "no boundaries" demonstrates that the band has no hesitation in embracing and exploring a variety of musical avenues with ease. More...

Wolves In The Throne Room Details "Thrice Woven"
Wolves in the Throne Room re-imagines black metal as an ode to rain storms, wood smoke and the wild energies of the Pacific Northwest. The band is considered one of the most potent and highly regarded in heavy metal today. Now, a portal into the mythic ethereal heathen landscape opens once again as on August 23rd the new album "Thrice Woven" will unleash on the band's own Artemisia Records. The release is a glorious return to the blazing and furious black betal that the band alone can create.
The album begins with "Born From the Serpent’s Eye" a true thrashing black metal epic that is bisected with a haunting northern lament sung by Swedish star Anna von Hausswolff. The band worked with metal documentarians Peter Beste and Nico Poalillo to create a video for this track which captures a bonfire-lit performance in the forest near their Olympia compound. More on this very soon; to tide us over, check out a trailer that hints at what's to come in the player below.
"The Old Ones Are With Us" opens with the crackling of a fire and the voice of Steve Von Till (Neurosis) invoking the springtime thaw. It then storms into a dirge inspired by 90’s Finnish doom with lyrics that celebrate Imbolc, the holy day which marks the end of winter and the first stirrings of spring. Figures from Norse mythology intertwine with personal heartbreak and rebirth in the bleak "Angrboda." The song is named after a frost giantess who birthed Fenrir Wolf, a beast who was destined to destroy the world and murder the gods.
Fenrir Wolf also appears on the cover of "Thrice Woven" in a painting by Russian occult artist Denis Forkas. Forkas’ obscure medieval painting techniques perfectly compliment the music of Wolves in the Throne Room, you can explore the glimmering painting at the bottom of this post.
A raven’s wings stir the air in the interlude "Mother Owl, Father Ocean". Anna von Hausswolff returns in a duet with Turkish harpist Zeynep Oyku, forlorn industrial atmospheres haunt the mix, Hausswolff’s lyrics, sung in Swedish, echo over a barren grey seascape. "Fires Roar in the Palace of the Moon" is the classic Cascadian Black Metal epic, the third eye opens to see holy rivers being born from the ice on the tallest peaks, the lyrics offer blessings to the waters of the earth as they flow from the high places to the source of darkness, the ocean.
When the band returned to the road in summer 2016 long-time touring guitar player Kody Keyworth was welcomed as a full member of Wolves in the Throne Room. On "Thrice Woven," Kody contributes raven’s screams and some of the most brutal and dark riffs. The live line-up also features Peregrine Somerville (Sadhaka) playing 3rd guitar and Brittany McConnell (Wolvserpent) on keyboards and percussion. The effect of three guitars on stage is mesmerizing and reflects the dark psychedelia of the band’s albums.
The track listing is:
1. Born from the Serpent's Eye
2. The Old Ones Are With Us
3. Angrboda
4. Mother Owl, Father Ocean
5. Fires Roar in the Palace of the Moon More...

Sunwalter Signs To Sliptrick Records
The Sunwalter project was launched in Moscow on August 31st, 2008. The band signed with Sliptrick Records for the forthcoming "Alien Hazard" release.
The band commented: "At a certain point in time the Sunwalter crew was abducted by a group of alien creatures. None of the previous events matter anymore.
