The band comments: “We want to give the fans a pure and unfiltered listening experience, one that reflects us and where we are at in our musical journey and our lives. It is as much a reflection of who we are as musicians as it is of us as people.

"The philosophy behind ’Make It Last’ is a reference to always trying to make the good times in life last as long as you can. As much as possible, try to live every minute like it could be your last…Time is fleeting, so…Make It Last!”

Baroness Parts With Pete Adams

Baroness’ longtime guitar player, Pete Adams, has amicably left the band, electing to spend less time on the road and focus on a burgeoning non-music business and his home life.

“I would like to say thanks to all of the Baroness fans far and wide and all of the support through the ups and downs along the way,” says Pete. “I feel beyond fortunate to have had the chance to travel great distances with Baroness and to meet so many of you. I honestly never thought I would be able to do what I have done with Baroness. Playing alongside my oldest friends, playing music that isn’t simply readily accepted by the masses, and sharing the stage with some of the best musicians and bands from around the globe. That said, it’s time for me to focus my energy closer to home and not on the road. However, this isn’t the end of my musical career by any means as I plan to continue working with Valkyrie. Again, thank you to all along the way, and most importantly thank you greatly to the current, past and future members of Baroness.”

Band founder John Baizley commented on Pete’s departure: “I need to take a moment, on behalf of myself and Baroness, to recognize and sincerely thank one of my oldest friends and bandmates, Pete Adams, as he moves on from Baroness to pursue a new phase in his life. I feel fortunate beyond words to have shared the stage with you for nearly 25 years, since we were barely teenagers. It would be impossible to articulate the value and impact of the personal history, friendship and musical bond we have enjoyed throughout our lives and within this band. Through Baroness, we’ve seen that friendship grow further and often in unexpected ways; we’ve taken part in so many adventures together that it’s difficult to keep track of them all." More...

Vintersorg Posts New Song

There are only four more weeks to go until the official release date of "Til Fjälls del II", Vintersorg's sequel to groundbreaking 1998 album "Till Fjälls," a milestone in the genre of black/pagan metal.

The album will be released worldwide on June 30th via Napalm Records and available as a 2CD 6 page digipak or as a 2LP gatefold edition. Today a new track comes online from the release - check out "Jökelväktaren" below.

Andreas Vintersorg Hedlund comments: "This song is kind of a sequel to the song called 'Jökeln' from the 'Till Fjälls' album from 1998. I really wanted to tie it back to that lyrical theme that deals with glaciers. The first episode on that old album is more of an observation of the mightiness of a glacier and how it effects its surroundings, including mankind.

"On the new episode I took a different path lyric wise. It's much more from an environmental stand point dealing with sustainability. Mankind continues to treat this planet as garbage in some aspects to the point that we actually contribute to melting poles. So, the lyric is about a human being that sees this and tries to address this problem. Still it has a lot of nature scenery-worship-style. The music has both harsh and soft edges with a very powerful chorus." More...
