Grave Pleasures Signs With Century Media

Century Media Records is proud to announce the signing of the apocalyptic post-punk band Grave Pleasures. The group just finished recording second studio album, "Motherblood," at Orgone Studios in the UK (Ghost, Paradise Lost, Ulver).

This upcoming album has been scheduled to a worldwide release for late September/early October 2017 via Century Media Records worldwide. Risen from the ashes of Beastmilk, Grave Pleasures features the writing talents of Mat McNerney (Hexvessel, Beastmilk, Code, DHG) and Juho Vanhanen (Oranssi Pazuzu, Atomikylä). “Motherblood” features fresh artwork by Finnish artist Tekla Vály.

Mat McNerney comments on the record deal signing: “Jens came out to see our show in Sweden at the end of last year and enjoyed it so much he made it clear that he wanted to work with us. For me that’s the greatest way to work with a label, to hang out with the people involved, to be friends and to enjoy good music together. That way it’s much more than a business relationship to us. It becomes part of the experience of why we do this. It’s very comforting to know that we will have the best, most hard-working and friendliest team working on our record. We’re proud to be a part of their family with Grave Pleasures.”

Century Media’s A&R Jens Prueter says: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Grave Pleasures on Century Media. There are not too many artists who have enough talent and visions for being involved in very different bands such as Hexvessel, Oranssi Pazuzu and Grave Pleasures. And it’s always great to work with a group of friends and like-minded spirits. Thanks to the entire band and their manager Andy Farrow!” More...

Graspop Metal Meeting 2017: Day One

The Graspop Metal Meeting festival in Belgium has become one of the biggest and most popular events on the European summer circuit. Seemingly every year they put together a fantastic line up, mixing the classics, the young blood and cult favourites to really give something for all head bangers. This year was no different, with such legends as Scorpions, Deep Purple and Blue Oyster Cult all booked, as well as plenty for the kids like Chelsea Smile and Architects. It all promised to be a hell of a weekend and indeed it was.

Though the festival doesn't begin it's "official" schedule until Friday, weekend campers arrive the day before and are met with plenty on offer, including a number of live bands and the Metal Cafe. Being too tired after travelling from England to Belgium, we were only able to catch one full performance, though we also caught the last ten minutes of Belgian stoner metal act, King Hiss, who would probably please fans of Mastodon but left little impact. This was followed by the very short journey to the Jupiler Stage, which housed most of the weekend's hardcore and deathcore groups to watch Dutch hardcore veterans, Born From Pain. The quintet are regarded as one of Europe's best hardcore groups and it's easy to see why, particularly in the live setting where their brand of positive energy spreads to the audience very quickly, making for a very enjoyable live set. Invidia To Hit The Road With Wednesday 13

It may sound trite, but Invidia is truly a brotherhood. Each member of this brotherhood has a story that reflects the quote above. When the band came together to make "As The Sun Sleeps" (Steamhammer/Oblivion/SPV), each member knew just what they didn't want and how far they were willing to go to make it work on their terms. Invidia features current members of Five Finger Death Punch and Skinlab.

Recently, Invidia announced the addition of Evan Seidlitz as the newest member of the band, replacing vocalist Travis Johnson. Seidlitz is no stranger to the frontman spotlight, known for his work in Vyces, Thrown Into Exile and Grimace. The band is very excited to be on this new journey with Seidlitz and has no doubts that fans will be pleased with what he has to bring to the table.

Hot on the heels of the release of the debut record, Invidia is set to return to the road this summer first in support of Wednesday 13 through July. Then following a quick break the band will devastate the nation again as part of the Metal Alliance Tour alongside Overkill, Crowbar, Havok and Black Fast. A complete list of all dates can be found below.

Bassist Matt Snell cannot wait to get back out on the road with Invidia: "When offered the Wednesday 13 tour we were thrilled... for us it's a total 90 degree turn and a unique challenge as a band. We are all fans of Wednesday 13, and we know we have the goods... its just time to deliver! Get your creepy on!"

He continues: "The Metal Alliance tour is yet another dream come true for us. Having opened for Overkill myself when I was just a kid in River Grove IL, in 1994, I can only hope to have the Overkill guys sign my tour flyer from that show. But more important for us as a band is the significance of festivals that stray just enough from the mainstream to remind us all that music is art!"

Confirmed dates are as follows: More...

Confessions Of A Traitor Issue New Music Video

British hardcore group Confessions Of A Traitor issued a new video clip for the song "In Darkness, Ignite The Spark," which you can check out in the player below. The song appears on the new EP "Illuminate," which is available now through Sliptrick Records.

The band commented: "The song is about constantly battling, looking for a way out of constant pain, having a brief break from it and plummeting further into self doubt. It then takes a positive twist about eventually cutting the negativity from your life and realizing that you need to take time to heal yourself before you can concentrate on anything or anyone, and having the strength to overcome it.

"The video vaguely reflects this with the imagery of Steve stuck in the chains and the performance element being the release. It’s all relative on a personal level, this is how we interpret the lyrics and hopefully anyone who listens and watches, will interpret them in their own way."
