Abbath Kicks Off Tour With Amon Amarth
After walking off stage mid-set at Inferno Fest and never issuing a statement explaining the situation, Abbath has now kicked off a Latin American tour alongside Amon Amarth.
The "Jomsviking Latin America Tour 2017" launched in Rio De Janeiro on Friday and will run through mid-June, coming to an end in Guadalajara - a listing of full upcoming dates is available below.

Tau Cross Announces New Album
Tau Cross - the multinational punk / heavy metal collective revolving around Amebix bassist and frontman Rob “The Baron” Miller and Voivod drummer Michel “Away” Langevin - just announced details on a second full-length album.
"Pillar Of Fire" is due out July 21st on CD/2xLP/digital formats via Relapse Records. Additionally, the band has premiered a music video for the new song “Deep State,” directed by Jakub Moth. Check it out below.
Tau Cross commented on the new album: “'Pillar of Fire' is the continuation of some of the ideas that were explored on our first Album, this time we have managed to share the songwriting more equally and introduce some other textures to the songs. This should help to establish Tau Cross as less of a one off phenomena and more of an ongoing musical collective producing our own distinctive sonic environment.”

Conan Added To Desertfest Lineup
Four new bands have been added to the Desertfest 2017 lineup, with the festival organizers issuing this statement:
"Back once again with a hot slew of names to fuel your Desertfest cravings! We are still sitting on some very exciting headliners, but as you probably know by now: we live by the creed of 'all killer no filler.'
"I think you'll all agree that Conan is indeed a killer, if you don't they'll probably lob your head clean off. You see where this is going? Hailing from Arcata, California, White Manna is a cosmic noise outfit who will rock you straight into orbit.
"We welcome back Stoned Jesus from Kiev, a class doom act in its own right. And finally, your classic rock urges will be soothed by the sounds of supergroup Spidergawd.

Alestorm Announces New Tour Dates
After fucking all the fans with an anchor last week, Alestorm today announces a new roundup of European tour dates with Aether Realmm and Troldhaugen. The band comments:

New York solo outfit Gridfailure will issue the demoralizing "Scathed" album next week through DIY dark ambient/noise label Darker Days Ahead.
Today the grinding "Cut The Hard Line," one of the more abstract/ambient noise-based tracks from "Scathed," has come online and can be heard below.

Sign Of Cain Signs With Apostasy Records
Sign Of Cain consists of well-known names like Tomer Hasenfratz (Viscera Trail), Tomy Minas (The Sin), Tuval Refaeli (Viscera Trail, Equilibrium), David Mauritzon (Razorrape) and none other than Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates, The Lurking Fear). The band just signed to Apostasy Records, with the label commenting:
"We are very honored to announce that we will put out the first sign of life of this project 18 years after its initial spark in 1999: 'To Be Drawn And To Drown.' Old school death metal and doom full of melancholy and sorrowful melodies, which pave their way through painful and repulsive harmonies.

The twosome's opening salvo features nine tracks of primitive but powerful thrashing sounds in the vein of classic South American black metal bands. Sierpes had this to say about the new song we've unleashed today:
"It talks about the circle of destruction for a new creation linked to the four elements and the sacred magic of Abramelim, it was written just one month after the Mocoa/Colombia tragedy were an overflow of rivers of Putumayo destroyed the city and many people died."

Godhead Machinery Signs With Inverse
Finland's Inverse Records and Swedish unorthodox extreme metal band Godhead Machinery have come together to strike a record deal. The full-length album named "Ouroboros" is now slated for release in the autumn 2017.
First single "Praise The Flesh" will drop June 14th, but for now check out an album trailer below. Band founder Robert "Kail" Karlsson (Misericordia) comments on the new record deal:
"We are very honored that Inverse believe in our tunes and our cause against the malevolent order that rules today! This collaboration will be the fuel that we need to keep focusing on the analyses of the world and on our music."
