The Faceless Cancels European Tour
After the gigantic clusterfuck earlier this very month when The Faceless cancelled an Australian tour last minute, the band has now reportedly cancelled a European tour without (as of this writing) issuing a statement to the fans.
News of the cancellation came via the U.K. Tech Metal Festival when that fest's organizers issued this announcement via Facebook:
"We regret to inform you that The Faceless cancelled all EU dates this year, we are awaiting an official statement from the band. Apologies to anyone who was hoping to see them, we have done everything within our power to make this dream a reality!
"We would like to thank Artery Global and their agent Liam John Byrne for their professionalism in handling the matter and their support for Tech-Fest, they too have done all they can to make this happen. Chins up, we will reveal the final secret headliner shortly! Thank you all for your continued support, not long until July 6th now."
Stay tuned for more info as it becomes available. We'll update this story with any statement from the band when its released. More...
Odium Announces New Album
The new album from German melodic thrashers Odium (not to be confused with the Canadian band of the same name) will be titled "As The World Turns Black" and will be released on July 14th via Black Sunset / MDD.
"As The World Turns Black" was recorded and produced at the Gernhart Studio in Troisdorf under the direction of Martin Buchwalter (Tankard, SuidAkrA). Björn Goosses of Killustration (Sodom, Six Feet Under, Death Angel) is responsible for the cover artwork, which is today also presented to the public for the first time and is a striking realization of the album title.
"As The World Turns Black" will contain nine songs and will be the tenth release of the Frankfurt maniacs gearing up to celebrate a 25th anniversary next year. Fans can catch Odium live:
19. August - Hasselroth, Rock in Schröth Open Air
04. November - Nijmegen (NL), Rockcafe Backstage More...
Jason Richardson Announces U.S. Tour
Guitarist Jason Richardson, formerly of All Shall Perish, Born of Osiris, and Chelsea Grin, is embarking on a headline tour this summer playing with drummer Luke Holland. Special guest openers will be The Reign of Kindo and Stolas.
"I am insanely turbo excited to be out playing all of these songs," Richardson said. "Luke and I are going to be playing almost the entire album every night! Seriously, I can't wait to meet all of the fans and bring the best show possible.
"Neither of us thought we'd ever being touring off this album, so to be doing a headliner almost a year later is very humbling and we're gonna bring the sickest show possible." More...
Exist Releasing "So True, So Bound"
Maryland-based progressive/technical death metal outfit Exist recently announced label debut, "So True, So Bound," is scheduled for worldwide release on June 9th, 2017.
Formed by Max Phelps, who cut his teeth as a touring member of Cynic and Defeated Sanity (and as frontman for Death To All, the touring tribute band to Chuck Shuldiner), Exist is rounded out by bassist Alex Weber, guitarist Mathew Rossa and technical drumming legend Hannes Grossman (Necrophagist, Obscura).
Today, Exist reveales a brand new music video for the track "Fault's Peaks" - check it out below. Front man Max Phelps comments: "'Fault's Peaks', the album closer, is probably the best overall representation of So True, So Bound and our sound as it includes all of our elements from psychedelia to heavy, dissonant riffing with a little improvisation sprinkled in. We've jokingly referred to this song as the 'bleed etude', as the right hand pattern is very reminiscent of the Meshuggah song off obZen, no shame there. This song was (and continues to be live) a real bitch to pull off technically, but it was worth it as we're very proud of the composition itself."
New album "So True, So Bound" was self-produced by the band and mixed by Nolly Getgood (Periphery). The album features eight tracks clocking in at just over 60 minutes and bears artwork by Sebastian Jerke (Ahab, Zodiac).
1. Take My Picture
2. Happily Ever After (For a Week or so...)
3. So True - Imitation's Flattery
4. So Bound - One of the Herd
5. Peer Prejudice
6. To Sever the Strings (feat. Bobby Koelble)
7. Shade From My Fire
8. Fault's Peaks More...
Mutank Releasing New EP
Montreal thrash champions Mutank return with a new EP titled "W.H.A.T.S.T.H.A.T." due out June 16th via Boonsdale Records. This five track demolisher was produced with Topon Das (Fuck The Facts).
The new EP from the 2014 Wacken Metal Battle Canada winners is a short, but sweet to follow up to debut cassette "M.E.C.H. Metal" and is a taste of what's to come from the band's full-length album planned to be unleashed later this year.
Vocalist/bassist Stephen Reynolds comments: "Someone is gonna hurt their neck listening to this…This upcoming EP ‘W.H.A.T.S.T.H.A.T’ sort of started as a joke. I just thought it would be funny to force an acronym for ‘what’s that?’ and I came up with ‘We Have Alottta Thrash Songs That Have Abbreviate Titles’. From there we came up with the concept of an EP with a bunch of forced acronym titles. The EP itself was written somewhat conceptually with the individual songs being very short thrash songs that come together to make one longer progressive thrash track, which harkens back to the title since we don’t even know what it is! We have a ton of new material in the works as well, people can expect new stuff sooner rather than later!” More...

Bruce Corbitt Retires From The Music Scene
After being rushed to the hospital earlier this week, Bruce Corbitt has now checked in with bad news about his deteriorating health situation.
Corbitt posted a video here with an update on his condition and announcing his retirement from fronting Warbeast. Following that clip, he then issued the following message online to fans via Facebook:
"Well fuck, more results not going my way. Will be lucky to make it a year, and it will be a miserable year with all they told I'm about to go through. Preparing for first radiation. Wish me luck! Love y'all!"
White Wizzard Signs With M-Theory
2017 marks the return of the true metal crusaders from White Wizzard. Mainman and bassist Jon Leon returns energized and re-joined by classic members vocalist Wyatt “Screaming Demon” Anderson and guitarist James J. LaRue for a new album of timeless heavy metal coming via M-Theory Audio.
"White Wizzard is very excited to be signing with Marco Barbieri and M-Theory Audio. I’ve had several talks with Marco about his new label over the past few months and felt we shared a similar vision,” explains Jon Leon.
He goes on to say, “I came away feeling he was a really good guy and in the music industry for the RIGHT reasons and I felt like I could trust him, which is rare for me in this business. That inspired me to take a chance on someone that is on a path that I feel will be successful. Marco has a lot of passion for music and I am hopeful we can both find greater heights through this venture. White Wizzard has been through a lot of adversity and this album means a lot for many different reasons and it's something we are all very proud of. With Wyatt ‘Screaming Demon’ Anderson and James J. LaRue back in the band we have the best of our past whilst creating a vision to take it to the next level with a powerful dynamic musical force.” More...
Wildspeaker Posts "Cinders"
Dallas-based blackened crust band Wildspeaker will release upcoming album, "Spreading Adder," on June 23rd via Prosthetic Records. The blistering 11 track album offers a non-stop grind of driving riffs and thick, weighty atmosphere.
Thematically and lyrically, "Spreading Adder" focuses on the resilience of nature and downfall of human civilization. Check out new track "Cinders" below.
Vocalist Natalie Kahan says, "'Cinders' is about the anxiety and unease of changing states. Ultimately, we are still able to burn after the chaos around us cools. The song starts out pummeling fast then becomes punishing and slow. There are a lot of dark layers and tension to 'Cinders' that'll make you clench your teeth."
Wildspeaker consists of Kahan, guitarists Nelson Favela and Zak Pitts, bassist Garry Brents (Cara Neir), and drummer Ricky Rivera. Self-produced in Brents' home studio, Spreading Adder will be released on LP, CD and all digital formats. Pre-orders are online here. More...

Exmordium Releasing "Into The Sepulchral Spectrum"
Tridroid Records is pleased to announce that "Into the Sepulchral Spectrum" by Exmordium will be the first album to be released as part of the Tridroid Lost Releases series.
In the spring of 2016, Tridroid Records changed ownership from Andrew Rehberger to Christine Kelly. Because of the changeover and Andrew’s tragic death soon after, a few releases were buried in the shuffle and remained unknown. After organizing the back catalog, Christine uncovered them. Her goal is to give them the recognition that they didn’t have before and to dedicate them to Andrew’s memory.
Tridroid Lost Releases will donate all proceeds to an organization close to Andrew’s heart, the Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Exmordium’s Evan French and Evan Page came together at the end of 2011, melding furious black metal atmosphere with melodic instrumentation and classical guitar. In 2012, the duo recorded the "Disembodied Souls," "Monolith of Dread," and "Prophets of Doom" demos, the last of which featured Jacob Yelle. "Apocryphal Deities of Ageless Stone" was unleashed in 2013, the last of the recordings featuring Yelle. More...
