The gritty southern metal groove chiefs known as Undercover Devil just premiered an official music video for “Burn It Black" - check it out below. The band also comments:
“We are excited to finally unleash this song as it basically gives an inside view into our overall sound. We are a groove based band. No Groove is no good. If you don't leave hummin' that chorus then you might want to re-evaluate your life. Everyone has those days when they want to just burn it all down. We are the soundtrack to your bad days.”
Undercover Devil is a 5-piece group from Malvern, Arkansas for fans of Down, Pantera, and Crowbar or anyone with a relentless urge to head bang with the Devil.
Band manager Mark Müller from Extreme Management Group mentions, “These guys have a sound that reels you in, their roots are strong and they know how to put it all out there. Volur Posts "Breaker Of Skulls"
Toronto-based experimental doom trio Volur will release sophomore album, "Ancestors," on June 2nd via Prophecy Productions. Produced by the band and mixed by Charles Spearin (Broken Social Scene), "Ancestors" is the follow-up to Volur’s debut album "Disir."
In advance of the record's release, today new song "Breaker of Skulls" comes online and can be heard below.
“‘Breaker of Skulls’ is a dark, sludgy slab of doom inspired by the ancient Icelandic warrior poet Egil Skallagrímsson, a man who fought terrible battles across the North Sea," comments the band. "He was at once barbarous and poetic. A man who would commit a brutal act of violence and then recite a beautiful poem immediately after. The song was inspired by his epic poem, ‘The Loss of My Sons'. It moves from a combative, gnarly sludge riff to a bittersweet and almost beautiful conclusion, all the while filled with yearning chromatic movement. The piece finds the band at its most aggressive, and almost its most experiment with disjointed improvised passages paired against bleak heavy doom.”

MRTVI Announces New Album
Mysterious underground entity MRTVI has reared its ugly head with another groundbreaking album that defies conventions and bends perceptions. "Negative Atonal Dissonance" will drop July 30th via Transcending Obscurity Records.
A twisted interpretation of black metal laced with ambient textures and unpredictable experimentation turns the professed genre on its head. Like contrasting mental thoughts, the music is a cacophony of various influences clashing in a seemingly indecipherable pattern, with chaos reigning but only on the surface; underneath, it's a carefully planned web of inextricable melodies and bursts of emotions.
MRTVI comments: "'Negative Atonal Dissonance' is not an album. It is a statement, a philosophy, an experiment; a rejection and reaction to the current trends within the mainstream and underground alike. Extreme metal has painted itself into a corner.
"Production values that serve no other purpose other than to sound recognizable and palatable. Arrangements, rhythms and harmonies that are more concerned with being identifiable and 'viable' than with originality.
"In an infinite universe, music is endless; a spectrum of emotion, of atmosphere, a vibrational connection running through and joining all frequencies; a spiritual, meditative practice, a dream and a nightmare connecting the creation with the creative force..." More...

Unleash The Archers Posts "The Matriarch"
The definition of matriarch: "A woman who rules or dominates a family, group, or state; specifically a mother who is head and ruler of her family and descendants."
"The Matriarch" is also the brand new track and music video off off Unleash The Archers' upcoming album "Apex," due out June 2nd via Napalm Records.
Brittney Slayes states "This track is chapter three in the story, and in it we are introduced to our antagonist "The Matriarch" in all her malevolent glory. We call this one our 'quick banger' because it's fast, catchy, and fun, and hopefully it won't take long to learn the words!
"It is sung from an omniscient point of view, drawing the listener in with tales of The Matriarch's depravity. The best part is the bridge, because the song is so dark, and then it launches into this flowing wraithlike guitar melody that is so memorable, I sing along to it every time and I think the fans will too! Absolutely cannot wait to play this one live ;)"

When asked about his inspiration for the cover, Klayton, the sole member of Scandroid replied, “I was inspired by artists like Tomita who re-imagined iconic Star Wars themes with synthesizers. I was excited to cover the 'The Force Theme' because I wanted to blend classic analog synthesizers with a re-orchestration of the original song. "We actually shot this video on NASA's property in Florida,” states vocalist Mikey Carvajal. “We were riding to a show with the director, Nathan Mowery, and saw a spot that looked good to dig some graves down a gravel road. Once a NASA helicopter started hovering right above us, it was pretty apparent that we probably should have picked another spot. Thankfully, we were already done shooting. Also, we didn't find any aliens, sadly."
On the track, he continues, “Lyrically, when I was writing 'Casket,' I felt like I took a page out of the Johnny Cash playbook. I think the song speaks for itself, it's a jammer."
Before teaming up with road comrades Korn, Islander has announced a batch of summer headlining dates with special guests Bad Seed Rising and The Funeral Portrait. More...
Niklas Kvarforth Covered In "Cold Void" Film
Niklas Kvarforth, founder of the controversial Swedish metal band Shining, is featured as the focal point of a new documentary produced by Art House Films.

Empyrean Throne Signs With M-Theory
Southern California black / death metal group Empyrean Throne has signed with M-Theory Audio, helmed by Marco Barbieri (former president of Century Media Records and Nuclear Blast America). The group's debut album, “Chaosborne” – produced by Mick Kenney of Anaal Nathrakh – will be released this summer.
Over the past five years, Empyrean Throne - which describes itself as a “clandestine order of Chaos-Gnostic black metal practitioners" - has built a steady regional following through theatrical performances alongside the likes of Nile, Overkill, Kataklysm, Aborted and Cattle Decapitation, as well as two West Coast tours. 2013 debut EP “Demonseed” and subsequent digital singles (including a cover of Behemoth's “Ov Fire and the Void”) have hinted at the promise that's on full display on “Chaosborne.”
Comments Empyrean Throne vocalist Andrew Knudsen, “Marco is a man of vision, and his continuing hard work and achievements in the music industry are a testament to this. His excitement and enthusiasm for what our Order hopes to achieve and cultivate is what we have been searching for in a label. We are hungry for the growth Marco has planned for us and are ready to carve a path of sonic destruction across the face of the extreme music scene. We’re both honored and humbled to join Marco and the M-Theory ranks for the release of 'Chaosborne.'” More...

Foscor Posts "Instants" Video
Foscor just revealed a video for the next track taken from forthcoming fifth full-length, "Les Irreals Visions," which has been slated for release on June 9th. Check out the "Instants" clip below. Forscor comments:
"One of the most immense and intense tracks on our album, 'Instants' revolves around the concept how humans must turn all their moments to eternal, achieving reconciliation between the far beyond and the here. The course of history is always explained through big events and how they change the turning of the world. But here we praise the value of everyday life, which is shaped by a huge amount of small ordinary moments, which are affecting our behaviour.
"If we don't value those moments, we value nothing. Its magic explains how we are, and there's no other intention behind this lyric video than to open the gates of your memories. Musically speaking, as the album's opening track, it's a declaration of intentions in itself. There are no boundaries in order to try to reach beauty in this dreamlike landscape."

"'Hoinar,' the Romanian word for 'wonderer' is a statement of solitude and introspection, a simple but ample opportunity to escape in one self’s own world where anything and everything can shape up and be coloured in all possible tints. A soul’s journey up the ladder of life, past, present and future. A dive into the unknown of one’s mind and an open door in the mirror of eternity.”

Dark Sermon Calls It Quits
Johnny Crowder from Dark Sermon just issued the following statement about the band deciding to call it quits:
"Hey all, J here. My eyes are flooding as I type this, but you deserve to hear it. Dark Sermon has been my life’s work for nearly a decade – an unforgettable whirlwind of sweat, flat tires, and insane tours. In my head, DS would live on forever, but life rarely follows the imaginary paths we paint for it.
"At this point, we have fulfilled our contracts with eOne and Nuclear Blast. This, coupled with a rather unforgiving season of rotten luck, led several members to retire from touring altogether. While I was stubbornly determined to press on, the remaining members decided that now would be a good time to let DS rest.
"Initially, I couldn’t accept it, but now I understand. Since high school, we’ve barely had a moment to tend to anything outside of the band. Looking back, I see how undying dedication to one solitary thing can lead to imbalance.
"Is Dark Sermon done? Unfortunately, that is not up to me. However, I can’t just stop writing music and sharing it with the world. This is why I created my new band, Prison. You can watch our new music video or pre-order our new record if you’d like to support us. More...
