Former Anal Cunt Guitarist Josh Martin Passes Away
As first reported by Vanyaland, former Anal Cunt guitarist Josh Martin has died at the age of 46 following an escalator fall. He joined the band in 1996 before leaving in 2001, then returning in 2006, where he stayed until the group's demise in 2011, following the death of vocalist Seth Putnam. He was also a member of such bands as Adolf Satan and Impaled Northern Moonforest.
“According to Providence Police, the man fell off an escalator from the upper level to the food court area around 10:45 p.m., sustaining severe head trauma,” reports WPRI. “He later died from his injuries. Officials say the incident appears to be completely accidental and there is no indication that the victim intentionally jumped or was pushed.”
WPRI did not cite Martin in its report, but Vanyaland has confirmed with the musician’s friends that it was him who took the fatal fall.

Venom Inc. Guitarist Suffers Heart Attack
Venom founder and current guitarist of Venom Inc. Jeff "Mantas" Dunn has posted a message online in which he revealed that while in Portugal last month, he suffered a near fatal heart attack. His message reads as follows :
Jeff Dunn - Mantas
"April 30th 2018
" A day like any other, sun is shining and myself and Anita leave the house to drive to our next village.
Anita needs a new inhaler so we call into the pharmacy to collect one . . that is when everything changes.
"I start to experience what I can only describe as indigestion, but then the pain gets worse.
I decide to go back to the car and wait but by this time the pain is unbearable. The staff of the pharmacy help me out of the car and take me back inside. An ambulance is called. On its arrival I am taken into the ambulance to be monitored and assessed. The pain is not subsiding in any way and so the the paramedics call for a doctor.
When the doctor arrives with a nurse I am immediately hooked up to an ECG and given the news that it appears that 2 valves in my heart are blocked.
"What happened next ranks easily as the most terrifying experience of my life.
I can remember calling Anita's name and then hearing my own voice saying 'fucking fight!' . . 'dont you dare give up!' . . 'FIGHT IT!' . . . and then, nothing. More...

UFO Vocalist To Retire
Phil Mogg has confirmed that next year’s 50th anniversary tour with UFO will be his last as the frontman of the long-running hard rock band. Consequently, it seems almost certain that at that point they will cease to exist. UFO were formed in London in 1969 and Mogg is their only ever-present member, performing on all of the group’s 22 studio albums.
“This decision has been a long time coming, I’ve considered stepping down at the end of UFO’s previous two tours,” Mogg explains. “I don’t want to call this a farewell tour as I hate that word, but next year’s gigs will represent my final tap-dancing appearances with the band.
“2019 marks UFO’s 50th anniversary, so the timing feels right,” he continues. “There will be a final tour of the UK and we will also play some shows in selected other cities that the band has a strong connection with. But outside of the UK this won’t be a long tour. Being out on the road isn’t always tremendously luxurious and although the playing is as great as it ever was, the stuff that surrounds it becomes very tiresome. I always told myself that when I reached that stage I would step down, and that’s what I’m going to do. This is the right time for me to quit.” More...
Rotting Christ Begins Work On New Album
The Greek veterans of Rotting Christ have entered the studio for the recording of their brand new album, which will be released early 2019 via Season of Mist. The album will be produced by vocalist Sakis Tolis himself, and Jens Bogren will again take on the job of mixing and mastering.
Regarding the new record, Sakis comments: "After almost two years on the road promoting and supporting our latest album 'Rituals', the time has come to create it's follower. An album that will be inspired by the intense artistic worries which arose during those two years on the road, and which seems to be our darkest and most mystical influences yet in our career! Thanks for the support all those years, we will not disappoint you!"

See The Ghost Inside Drummer's New Drumming Device
Drummer Andrew Tkaczyk (The Ghost Inside) carries on to make progress with his comeback to drumming. With the help of his dad he recently created a device without the aid of his prosthetic leg, calling it ‘The Hammer’ and you can check it out below.
Tkaczyk lost a part of of his right leg in the group’s horrid bus crash in November 2015, which left them with many life-changing injuries which the band still continue to recover from.
Says Andrew Tkaczyk:
“This is something I’ve been excited to share for a very long time. My Dad is quite the handy-man, and came up with this great idea. Playing drums with a prosthetic leg just wasn’t working out. The timing was way too off. There was a latency. It was awkward and clunky.
My Dad had a vision of designing me a device where I didn’t need to attach my prosthesis at all. This way there is no weight my limb has to lift which eliminates fatigue, and gives me a FAR better action when striking the pedal. With that said, I still have a long way to go before I get it 100% down, but it’s absolutely the right direction to go in terms of playing as close to my full potential as possible! My Mom coined the name for this device so we’ve been calling it “The Hammer” ??”
This past April saw The Ghost Inside rehearse together for the first time since bus crash, though they are afraid they are still miles away from being able to hit the stage again.
