OnlineAthens.com is reporting that Khaotika's Sergio Jose Quesada has been charged with DUI and three counts of homicide for a deadly crash back in April of last year.

That vehicle crash took the lives of Khaotika drummer Nick Crisostomo (a/k/a Dyret) and Wormreich members Ian A. McKinney (guitarist/keyboardist) and Paul Truesdel (Bass). An excerpt from the article follows:

An Athens man was charged in an April 2015 wreck that killed three members of two rock bands when their 15-passenger van wrecked along Interstate 85. Sergio Jose Quesada, 28, of Nona Drive, Athens, was charged with DUI, failing to maintain a lane and three counts of first degree homicide by vehicle.

Those killed in the April 6 wreck in Jackson County were Nicholas Crisostomo, 25, of Round Hill, Va.; Ian McKinney, 30, of Madison, Tenn.; and Paul J. Truesdell, 29, of Mableton, Ga. Those injured and killed were members of either Khaotika, an Atlanta-based occult metal band, and Wormreich, a Huntsville, Ala., based band described as black metal.

Quesada was booked into the Jackson County Detention Center on Monday and released on a $17,800 bond.

The crash hasn't stopped the music though, as we recently premiered a triumphant return track from Khaotika, which can be heard below, and an update from the band months after the crash can still be read here.
