New Deitus Album Set For July Release

Comments Deitus on the new single: "'A Scar For Serenity' is our new, neck-breaking single after more than 4 years of silence. Deitus is here to bring genuine danger to this overly sensitive, sterile scene."
Formed in 2004 in York (UK), Deitus create sonic terror through the medium of black metal with no limits and no compromises. Death Reich Releases New Single
Today Swedish death metallers Death Reich unveiled the new single "World War," taken from their debut album "Disharmony" which will be released on March 17th 2023 via Non Serviam Records. You can listen to it below.
"‘World War’ is a song about oppression of humans. The inhumane world view carried by the ones in power. As long as there is profit and power to gain no human cost is to great. Humans are mere pawns to be sacrificed as they see fit as long as it suits their agenda," comments the band founded by Jonas Blom (Runemagick, ex- Sacramentum, Trident, Grief Of Emerald and One Man Army and the Undead Quartet) in 2018. Texas Hippie Coalition Announces New Album
Heavy southern rock band Texas Hippie Coalition have announced the release of their seventh studio album, The Name Lives On, on 21st April 2023 via MNRK Heavy. The hard-hitting 10-track collection is another riff-heavy, sonic assault from beginning to end.
The first single, "Hell Hounds," proves this dog hunts right out of the gate. With a punishing riff, frontman Big Dad Ritch growls, "And I know that you think you're so strong/And I've been sent to prove you wrong." You can check out the song below.
THC frontman Big Dad Ritch commented: "Where there once was an appetite for this style of music, I witnessed a hunger grow and now I see the lovers of real music starving for it. The name lives on is an album that is a dinner bell ringer… I was sent to ring that bell!!!"
Texas Hippie Coalition are often compared to the many great southern rock and Texas bands that came before them. But they are proving to the world that THC is not just following in their footsteps, they are leaving giant footprints. Not only is the band etching out a place for themselves in the multi-genre fields of music, but they have also created their own genre in "Red Dirt Metal." You have to hear it to understand it. Words are not enough to convey how powerfully big their sound is. More...
Trold To Release Debut Album In May
Once upon a time, there was a bunch of trolls from the dark north. Deep in the caves of the woods, they partied all night long to their own tunes of flutes, mandolins and accordions. They mostly surrounded themselves with clubs of meat and mugs of mead, but also liked a princess or two. Although they were some lazy bastards, they still traveled the vast kingdom to play their trollish music for the good folks. And finally, after countless raids, their tales of adventure, misadventure and other fairy tales have now become their debut record "Der Var Engang...."
Trold plays folk metal with a mischievous smile, which is guaranteed to kick off the party from inside the large, dark Danish forests. The storytelling and melodies are in focus when playing with different instruments and heavy guitar rhythms to create the perfect atmosphere. The stories grow, hiss, and are sung, while the listeners/audience are taken on a host of adventures.
Trold has its roots well planted in the Nordic soil where inspiration is found in a wealth of fairy tales and mythologies. Giants, Gods, the animals of the forest, and the marvelous world of the sea are just some of the places Trold takes the listeners to.
When the trolls are on stage, you can be sure that the party will start and the good mood will be kicked off.
"Der Var Engang…" will be released on LP (gatefold black vinyl, limited to 300), digipack CD and digital formats via Mighty Music on May 26th, 2023. More...

Adam Zaars (guitars) comments:
"We've been meaning to do a BÖC cover for over a decade now, and finally got around to doing it. They've been a constant source of inspiration throughout the years as they always seemed to find new creative ways of doing their thing, which is what we're always striving for. It will stand out a bit from what we usually do as anyone listening will find out soon enough!"
Skáld Drops "Elverhøy" Music Video
French Nordic-themed cultural collective Skáld have dropped a video for "Elverhøy," taken from their brand new album "Huldufólk," out now via U Music. You can check it out below.
To cross the lands and forests of the hidden people is to risk losing one's life, or to be trapped in a bewitching elven circle. In this elven circle, humans find themselves bewitched, in a trance, caught in a hellish loop of dance until exhaustion, oblivion or death. The music video illustrates this dance of tow powerful spirits of light and darkness, which symbolises, in a poetic way, the beliefs of the Icelandic folklore of the Huldufólk. The possessed human is condemned to get lost eternally in the legendary bewitched path that protects the access to the other world. More...
Elvenking Posts New Music Video Online
April 28, 2023 will see the masters of heavy metal, pagan, folk and melodic death metal, Elvenking, return to fantasy with their epic, new album "Reader Of The Runes – Rapture," through AFM Records! The band's eleventh studio album marks the sequel to their 2019 magnum opus "Reader of the Runes – Divination."

We know that a lot of our fans love this side of Elvenking, so this is also a gift to you. “Reader of the Runes – Rapture” will collect all of the shades of our sound from the more aggressive ever, to songs like Bride of Night so, by listening to the entire album you will travel through a multitude of nuances and atmospheres - we cannot wait for you to hear it in all its epicness!
"Heike Langhans offered her beautiful voice in the chorus backing Damna vocals. The amazing video is once again directed by Matteo Ermeti who did with us "Silverseal" and he couldn't better envision the story – a glimpse of painful romance that captures one of the chapters of the story." More...

Space Chaser Uploads New Music Video
German raging thrash metallers Space Chaser have released a brand new video (produced by Lucas Fiederling / Peregrine Films) for "Juggernaut," a song taken off the bands' latest full-length "Give Us Life" which was released in the summer of 2021. Check out "Juggernaut" below.
Comments the band: "Freeze your ass off in a Berlin club for two days and assemble a disrupted desert landscape from another planet? We thought that was a fantastic Space Chaser idea! Together with our buddies from Peregrine Films we brought the Juggernaut - the merciless, warmongering monster - to life and sent him on a destructive journey. In well known 'sci-fi meets thrash metal' style, we deliver the matching short film for our song „Juggernaut“ and headbang our brains out along the way. Watch out that you don't get buried under the tank chains! BOOM!" More...
Moor Reveals Debut Album "Heavy Heart" Details
Hamburg doom quintet Moor have unveiled their visceral new single / video "Tears From Acrid Smoke" and announced their cathartic debut album "Heavy Heart," set for release on 17th May via Believe Digital. You can check it out below.
Vocalist Ercüment Kasalar commented on "Tears From Acrid Smoke": "Our first single deals with the feeling of the inner fight that you face when you burn a bridge in your life. Crossing it, getting hit by the acrid smoke of the burning pain but leaving it behind and moving on."
The colossal sound of "Heavy Heart," Moor's first album, is created in a vulnerable place. Loud and scratchy, desolate and intimidating, full of despair and an intimate, almost overpowering sense of yearning. And slow, dragingly slow like the shuffling step of death. "I love to move in atmospheric walls of sound, to sink into them and become one with them," band founder Ercüment Kasalar explains his preference for doom. "I can't do that in fast music, it's just too hectic for my relaxed mindset."
"Heavy Heart" was written and recorded by the original line-up featuring singer and guitarist Kasalar, guitarists Ben Laging and David Kaiser, bassist Christian Smukal and drummer Chad Popple. All of them have earned their spurs in other bands or projects and have appeared with Tephra, Sport, The Ocean, Gorge Trio or rha. More...

Enslaved Posts "The Eternal Sea" Lyric Video
Today, Enslaved are proud to release their latest avant-garde creation, "Heimdal." Their breathtaking 16th studio album is both a departure and a communion with roots forged over three decades ago in the turbulent birth throes of Norway’s black metal scene. It's a record that points towards new beginnings, and a dawn that’s on the other side of the apex of the land. Prepare for a psychedelic journey through arcane Norse folklore, to connect with one's ancient ancestors and our future selves.
Enslaved's Grutle Kjellson commented:
"After more than three decades, I still get excited when I hear Ivar’s demos; we may be older now, and as life has evolved are unable to spend as much time on music as we would like, but the song writing process for Enslaved hasn’t changed much. Ivar works on the seeds and shapes of songs, sends them to the rest of us, and we’ll form our own narratives - these phantom sketches eventually come to life and they speak to us, and hopefully they speak to our fans as well.
"In my opinion, our band is even more creative, more experimental, more diverse and somehow more musical than when we started. I suppose one of the main reasons we continue as a band is that we have never reached a place where we bore ourselves. Our passion for telling stories, writing riffs, put words to them and exploring the human condition through music and myth, has only increased over the years and 'Heimdal' is a reflection of who we are as artists, musicians and human beings in the year 2023."
Enslaved has also revealed a masterly lyric video, created by Ingo Spörl, for album focus track, "The Eternal Sea," which can be seen below. More...

Godflesh To Release New Album In June
British industrial metal pioneers Godflesh has announced that they will be releasing a brand new album, "Purge" on June 9th. A digital EP in anticipation of the release, entitled "Nero" will be released on April 3rd.
With the highly anticipated new album "Purge," Godflesh revisits and updates the concepts of "Pure" (1992), as well as bringing a whole host of new dirges and laments. Amongst the many layers of dirt, "Purge" mangles 90s hip hop grooves and puts them through the Godflesh filter to create something futuristic in style - and utterly unique.
Both minimal and maximal, Godflesh deliver alien grooves that swing whilst also retaining the psychedelic, bad trip edge with layer upon layer of filth and heaviness - that Godflesh have always been known for. This is, and always has been, feel-bad music.
The title alone - "Purge" - references directly how songwriter and creator Justin K. Broadrick utilises Godflesh's music as a temporary relief from his diagnosed autism and PTSD. It's the next stage in a journey he has been on since he began creating music, feeling alone and like an outsider in any scene or group, from childhood through to adulthood.
The music of Godflesh gives Broadrick the means to express a lifetime of feeling misunderstood and overwhelmed by hyper-sensitivity. The band is the vehicle to provide some sense of catharsis and transcendence; a way of communicating overload, as well as the constant disenchantment at the human condition, and man's abuse of power and the systems that chain us.
"Purge" references the cycle of horror that man always has and always will put us through; those in positions of power revel in the infliction of pain and horror upon individuals - in the name of their religion, their power, their money, their flags... More...

Unearthing the Metal Underground: The Evil
Brazil boasts a rich history of extreme, dark metal. To name but a few, Brazil has given birth to Sepultura, Volcano and Sarcofago, the latter of whom was led by Wagner Antichrist. (He also briefly fronted Sepultura in the early eighties, but I digress…) Nowadays, the storied metal veteran spends time as a university economics professor. But he hasn’t hung up his bullet belt entirely. He is the guitarist for the occult-focused doom metal/occult rock band The Evil. More...
