Siberian Meat Grinder Issues Statement On The War

Russian crossover thrash metal upstarts Siberian Meat Grinder, who are due to release a new album entitled, "Join The Bear Cult" on April 22nd, has posted a statement online calling for the war in Ukraine to end. Their message reads as follows:

"SMG stands for peace! For all these days we had and still have no words to describe what we feel about this horrible situation. We prepared lots of cool stuff to post in support of our upcoming album, but we don’t feel like posting it these days. Our thoughts are with all the innocent people who have suffered before and who suffer now. Stop all wars!"

Siberian Meat Grinder have clearly felt the need to choose their words carefully, as a law came into effect in Russia today, which would see critics of the government or the military imprisoned for up to fifteen years under the charge of "spreading false information."

Watain Pulls Out Of U.S. Tour With Mayhem

Swedish black metal veterans Watain has announced that they have been forced to pull out of the scheduled tour of the United States of America with Mayhem, owing to further investigations into their visas. A statement from the band reads as follows:

"We regret to inform you all that, due to reasons entirely beyond our control, we’re forced to cancel our participation in the upcoming US Tour with Mayhem and Midnight, for which we were due to leave tomorrow.

"We have just been informed that the US Embassy have decided to launch an additional, undisclosed 'administrative process' in relation to Watain's visa applications. We’ve been told that this investigation could go on for months and that we might not get a reply until the tour is over. Since we have not been given any additional information about why this is taking place, how long it’ll take, or if visas will eventually be approved, it leaves us with no choice but to pull out of the tour.

"The same embassy has previously approved our working visa applications for every US tour, each of the 8 times we have applied. Preparing for a tour like this takes an enormous amount of work by the band and our crew. The merch has been produced, ticket buyers have made plans, and the crew relies on the jobs that the tour provides. It is a devastating blow to any band, but to the authorities in charge it seems to hold no significance.

"To our loyal fans and followers; we had truly been looking forward to stand before you all again. We invested all we had for this one. We are working hard on setting things straight and our intention is to re-schedule the North American dates for early 2023. Refunds are available at point of purchase.

"Finally, we wish Mayhem and Midnight a killer tour regardless."

Tungsten Releases New Music Video

Swedish symphonic metal quartet Tungsten have released their new riff-heavy single "March Along," taken from their third album, "Bliss," due for release 17th June via Arising Empire. You can check it out below.

On the new single, drummer Anders Johansson comments: "This song is one of my personal favourites, even though I love them all. The groove in 'March Along' is really nice and creates an urge to headbang."

The quartet's third offering is their heaviest and darkest album to date, with the typical ingredients that define Tungsten's music also breaking new ground and exploring fresh territories. The hooklines are stronger and more dynamic, with lyrics taking a darker turn whilst still focusing on relatable themes.

Andersson continues: "It all came naturally. Creating and recording this album truly put us in touch with the feeling of bliss. Nick and Karl, who wrote the music, have really shown their skills and musical talents. Bliss explores new musical ideas but is still based in the genre that we established in the band from the beginning."

"Bliss" was recorded at Harm Studios, Trelleborg (Sweden). Nick Johansson once again took care of the mixing, mastering and production duties with the albums artwork taken care of by Andreas Marschall. More...

Famyne Uploads New Single

Garden-fresh trail-blazers from the UK, Famyne drag Doom kicking and screaming into the 21st century and today release their new single "Once More," taken from their upcoming album "The Ground Below" out May 13th 2022. Svart Records is proud to unleash the band’s next single which is now available to check out here.

The band comments on the track, "'Once More' is about a person's daily trials and the means by which they find escape; something of a 'Covid tune', it originally came from a simple melody played over a riff, spawning a freestyle jam in which almost the entire song was born spontaneously. It just spilled out of us. In the months afterwards, it then had to be finished remotely, due to all of England going into the first lockdown! The song is a departure for us in terms of style, but we truly enjoyed its process of creation."

For the first time ever, the band will perform not only fan favorites but also brand new songs from their upcoming album Wilde Kinder. Fans from all over the world will have the chance to join this unique online event.

The band commented: "A few weeks ago, we had to cancel our 25th-anniversary show due to the pandemic. Sadly, it’s still very difficult to play shows in closed rooms in Germany. But since our fans can’t come to us, we must find a way to go to them. For weeks we have been working on 'The March For Freedom' - a very special and absolutely unique Reiter show. We will of course be playing some of our classics, but also some songs from our new album Wilde Kinder, that have never been played live before. The show will start on Sunday, May 1st, and will be available online for one week. So, if you’re alone or have some friends around if you’re sitting on your couch or watching on your phone from somewhere else – we will come to you. We’re so excited already!"

Warpath Unveils New Music Video

German thrash metal outfit Warpath has posted a new music video online for the song, "Resurrection." You can check it out below. The song comes from the band's new album, "Disharmonic Revelations," which was released today through Massacre Records.

"Disharmonic Revelations" is a musical rollercoaster-ride in the best, yet harshest way possible. Songs like "Vision And Reality" or "MMXX" are hypnotic, slow pace stompers which are followed by crushing thrashers like "Parasite", "The Last One" or "Resurrection". Psychedelic, almost post-rock like moments unfold in "Decisions Fall" or "The Unpredictable Past", before neck-breaking, speedy blast beats disrupt the beauty of the moment... you never know what's lurking around the next corner.

Warpath 2022 is different, even heavier, meaner and darker than ever before! Brutal thrash metal meets death metal meets NY hardcore meets post-rock meets progressive meets noise/wave meets avantgarde. More...

Sabaton Posts New Music Video Online

Today, the eagerly awaited new studio album from Swedish war chroniclers Sabaton finally sees the day of the light: "The War To End All Wars" is out now. Highly praised by international media, the tenth masterpiece of the Swedish metal force is determined to shake the world in its foundations, introducing a new era in the band's remarkable career.

The band states:

"With our last album, 'The Great War,' we found that we had only scratched the surface in terms of the powerful stories of courage and bravery and also the horrors that took place during the first World War. Fans would contact us and tell us these amazing stories from World War One that none of us had ever heard of before. Incredible, human tales like the British and German soldiers who put down their weapons on Christmas Eve in 1914 to share a moment of peace and reconciliation, right there on the battlefield; or the brave soldiers who fought in the White War, some 12,000 feet up in the Alps, who froze to death and whose bodies remain under the snow to this day. These are magnificent stories about everyday people who were willing to give their lives for something that was bigger than themselves. Marrying these true tales to loud, bruising, bone tingling heavy metal? Adding a second chapter to one the most frightening and liberating times in history? Why wouldn’t we make this album?"

To celebrate the release, Sabaton releases a video for their fourth single "Race To The Sea." 'Race To The Sea' is a song about the decision from Albert of Belgium during WW1 to flood the last part of Belgium and with the help of water prevent all of Belgium to fall into German hands. More...

Inhuman Condition To Release New Album In July

Florida death metal juggernauts Inhuman Condition have revealed plans to release their eagerly awaited sophomore album, "Fearsick," on July 15th via Listenable Insanity Records. The veteran all-star trio, which features vocalist/drummer Jeramie Kling (Venom Inc., Ex-Deo, The Absence), guitarist Taylor Nordberg (Deicide, The Absence) and bassist Terry Butler (Obituary, Death, Massacre, Six Feet Under), makes their return following their critically praised 2021 debut, "Rat°God," and multiple supporting tours.

Kling comments on the impending music:

"With the power of 10 diesel trucks, this machine is on a warpath! Get ready for the next death metal assault."

Also unveiled today is the album's mind-blowing, grotesque artwork created by artist Dan "Babe Ruth" Goldsworthy (Corpsegrinder, Accept, Cradle Of Filth).

Goldsworthy comments on the cover art:

"The basic concept for the "Fearsick" cover was brought to me by Jeramie, and evolved as we worked on it. It picks up from where the last album left off, and shows the main character's further decay and descent to pure evil. He's further along in his process of constructing his domain of bodies with a glimpse of the Rat°God setting through the archway. Once again, the aim was to create a cover that evokes the spirit of the classic death metal albums of the late 80s and early 90s." More...

Septicflesh Reveals New Album Details

Symphonic death metal architects Septicflesh have announced details of their upcoming eleventh studio album "Modern Primitive". To coincide with the announcement, the band have revealed the conceptual new video for the album's first single "Hierophant". You can watch the video below. The album is scheduled to be released through Nuclear Blast on May 20th.

"Hierophant" tells the first part of story written by guitarist and clean vocalist Sotiris Anunnaki V titled "Salvation". It depicts the experience of a high priest, acting as a human conduit between Heaven and Earth. Having never heard a single word from the mouth of god, he grows tired of preaching the preordained words of the clergy. He turns to performing primitive and powerful rituals that have been long forbidden, as he seeks the guidance of a chaotic elemental consciousness. The second part of the tale will be revealed with the track "Self-Eater".

Vocalist and bassist Seth Siro Anton comments "Hierophant is the result of an experiment with ideas that have been haunting our minds for quite a long time. Eventually they matured, leading us to create one of our darkest compositions ever. It is a rhythmical song with profane heavy riffing, layered with melodies that bring to mind chants from mystical ancient civilizations like the Egyptians."

Guitarist and orchestrator Christos Antoniou states "We found it appropriate to add an imposing ritualistic element to the song. So, from the first second until the end, the orchestration is focused 100% on its grim task, to create an awe-inspiring atmosphere and put the listener at the center of this forbidden ceremony."

Tracklisting:

1. The Collector
2. Hierophant
3. Self-Eater
4. Neuromancer
5. Coming Storm
6. A Desert Throne
7. Modern Primitives
8. Psychohistory
9. A Dreadful Muse More...
