Cognitive Signs With Metal Blade
“It is with immense pleasure that we announce our signing to Metal Blade Records!,” says Cognitive guitarist Rob Wharton. Formed in New Jersey in 2011, Cognitive‘s intent on creating bone-shattering death metal, devastating everything in its path with abstract dissonant melodies and time signatures, is the definitive metal statement needed for 2022.
After releasing an EP and full length, Cognitive signed to Unique Leader Records in 2016 and released their album "Deformity," which showed the bands dedication to their craft within a tale about their home states own legend about the Jersey Devil. Ramping up their tour schedule, the band continued to write and push themselves within the genre with technicality, speed, brutality, and songwriting, which came to shine through even more on the 2018 release "Matricide," which displayed more focused effort while increasing speed and technicality even more. The band wasted no time in their touring schedule and hit the road supporting Fit for an Autopsy, Rivers of Nihil, Through the Eyes of the Dead, Vulvodynia, Lorna shore and others, along with an appearance at Maryland Deathfest. Cognitive has become a touring machine with one goal in mind - always move forward.
Now with the release of their new album "Malevolent Thoughts of a Hastened Extinction," the band has displayed more diversity and song writing more than ever, and proves yet again they are never scared to explore new concepts musically and explore new territory.

Yes. it was theoretically a difficult album but we did not think this way while we recorded it. We just followed our emotions, jammed and rocked out with a strong gut feeling! This recording was like a therapy to me, we all know how difficult times are at the moment. So I’m super happy how everything turned out!"
Guitar shredder Damir adds: "It was a real honor for me to record this album. The studio work for Diabolical was very spontaneous and we had a lot of fun creating these dynamic, multifaceted and brutal but diverse songs. I loved every second of working on this record!" More...

Chains Over Razors Unveils New Album Information
Crossing paths in a recording studio talking about music, twin brothers Mikey V & Andy V along with vocalist, William Mullen, set to re-write the rules of heavy metal as a 3-piece by twisting arrangements, melodies, and grooves in ways thought to be impossible, creating and defining the sound of Chains Over Razors. This caught the attention of legendary rocker, Carmine Appice (Ozzy Osbourne, Vanilla Fudge, etc.), to executive produce the group’s latest self-titled album and guide their career to new heights. Edgy, twisted, and ruthless is how many describe the outfit. The album was mastered by Alan Douches (Mastodon, The Dillinger Escape Plan, etc…) at West West Side Music.
The band has just released the first single, "Behind These Eyes," and drummer Andy V had this to say about the meaning of the song, "Pure Rage and Self reflection. The song represents the best and worst of yourself." Deko Entertainment was excited to work with the band after Carmine Appice sent the label some of the bands material, President Bruce Pucciarello comments, "Chains Over Razors well represents a new generation of talented musicians, all devoted to expanding Metal boundaries. And if the Metal doesn’t bend, these guys just blow torch it. Explosive and exciting new music. COR is Deko rated AAA+ for chaos.," Mikey V continues, "We are excited to be part of the Deko Family, a company that will break and rewrite the rules of the music industry. Together, we have formed a lethal combination."

The full album drops on March 25 and features other stand out tracks like "Broken Home" and "The Narc." The band has already cultivated a loyal following and has made the press take notice of their no holds barred full throttle approach to their music. More...

Zero Hour Reveals New Album Details
Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the upcoming release of "Agenda 21," the new studio album by the recently reformed progressive metal band Zero Hour. Original members Jasun Tipton (guitars) and Erik Rosvold (vocals) have recruited bassist Andreas Blomqvist (Seventh Wonder) and drummer Roel van Helden to join them on this exciting new chapter for the group. The album is out on 13th May, with a first single from it entitled "Technocracy" available from today.
Originally formed in the Bay Area of San Francisco in 1993 by Tipton and his brother Troy (bass), their goal from the outset had been to create heavy, melodic, dark and intricate music stemming from a diverse set of influences that included the DIO-led years of Rainbow, Pat Metheny Group and Dream Theater. They released six studio albums, commencing with a self-titled 1998 debut, followed by "The Towers of Avarice" (2001), "Metamorphosis" (2003), "A Fragile Mind" (2005), "Specs of Pictures Burnt Beyond" (2006) and "Dark Deceiver" (2008).
The group dissolved following the release of "Dark Deceiver" when Troy Tipton suffered an arm injury that prevented him from playing bass. Jasun Tipton and Rosvold eventually reunited and recruited drummer Roel van Helden, who in turn was instrumental in bringing Blomqvist into the fold.
With travel restrictions in place, Tipton structured the music for ‘Agenda 21’ by tracking the guitars and keyboards, following which van Helden recorded drums and Blomqvist his bass parts. Rosvold wrote the song lyrics and he and Tipton then arranged his vocals as they were recorded. More...
