Perturbator Posts New Music Video Online

Dark electronic master Perturbator, aka James Kent, has released a stunning and thought-provoking new video for "God Says" featuring Hangman's Chair, taken from new album Lustful Sacraments, out now via Blood Music.

Directed by Metastasis, watch the video below.

James Kent commented on the single:"'God Says' is a song about completely giving yourself up to hedonism. It is perhaps the darkest song on the album and that is in great part thanks to Hangman's Chair's haunting contribution to it."

On the video, Metastasis commented: "Directing this music video has been quite a ride. A six months long ride, day and night, 38,257 frames rendered, a lot of challenges, but definitely, by far my best memory in terms of video directing."

"I wanted a journey in a monochrome, neo-gothic, over-identified Metropolis dipped in a wet and never-ending night, enlightened by thousands of flickering bleak neon-lights, painting vice and decadence. I wanted a collision between Fritz Lang, Orson Welles, Blade Runner, old Batman, Dick Tracy and even Roger Rabbit."

On the collaboration, Hangman's Chair commented: "Our first meeting with James was back in 2017 at the Sainte Marthe during the recording sessions of Banlieue Triste and our collaboration on the song 'Tired Eyes'. There was mutual respect at first and we discovered we had a lot in common.

"Immediately, we felt it was a good match and the connection between us was going to grow bigger and stronger. And since then we even started to see each other besides the musical context.

"So when he asked us to participate on the track 'God Says' that closes his new album, it was an honour to return the favour." More...

Ohm Signs With M-Theory Audio

The power trio – whose lineup in 2022 consists of guitarist Chris Poland (ex-Megadeth), bassist Robertino “Pag” Pagliari (Uli Jon Roth, Frank Gambale) and new drummer Carlos Cruz (Warbringer, Machine Head, Power Trip) – will enter the studio this summer to record their as-yet-untitled new album. Says Poland, "OHM is ecstatic to announce our signing with M-Theory Audio! It’s been a very long time since the release of our last album and with the passing of our previous drummers, David Eagle and Nick Menza, I’m truly grateful to share our new sound alongside bassist, Robert “Pag” Pagliari and drummer, Carlos Cruz. We’re excited for all to hear the new dynamics of our Instrumental/Fusion, especially the heavier elements brought in by Menza and continued by Cruz! Thank you to everyone involved for having us enter a new year with a new label team and to all who continue to support OHM!" More...

Monuments Shares "False Providence" Video

Transatlantic progressive metal outfit Monuments are releasing "False Providence," another track and video taken from their anticipated fourth album, "In Stasis," that is set for a release April 15th, 2022. While the song is out on all digital platforms the matching video, that was directed and produced by Zak Pinchin, will be available at 7PM GMT (2PM EST.) You can check it out below.

Says the band about the song and video: "When you dedicate your life to believing in something, then realising it was all for nothing. Despite your unflinching loyalty, the void within persists. – ‘As gods speak through us, suicidal sights remain.'"

The band about "In Stasis": "We approached this album without the intention of a specific concept. However - three songs in, what was being written ended up sharing a common theme.

"This feeling of being stuck in the middle, a feeling we experience throughout our lives - within friendships and relationships, love to hate, life to death, belief or non-belief, being in power to total defeat, isolation to freedom. Over the past 2 years, we have been faced with many of these trials, and these struggles can be heard throughout the record.

"This record is a culmination of our greatest triumphs and our deepest struggles. We hope it resonates with you, and brings you closer to equilibrium.

"We'd like to thank guests Neema Askari (Form Subtract, ex Fellsilent, ex-Monuments), Spencer Sotelo (Periphery, King Mothership), and Mick Gordon (Doom, Prey, Killer Instinct) for enhancing the record with their unique perspectives." More...

Casket Feeder To Release Debut Album In May

Casket Feeder have revealed details of their debut album, "Servants Of Violence," which is set for release on May 20th. First single "Vulture Culture" has dropped along with a video providing a taste of things to come, check it out below.

Blending the chainsaw fury of Swedish Death Metal with UK Hardcore's sledgehammer groove, Casket Feeder are a punishing trifecta of brutality, rage, and power.

"Servants Of Violence" is a musical progression from the critically acclaimed "Scalps" EP, with more diverse influences taken on board and with each member’s technical dexterity becoming more pronounced within the music, but without losing the band’s original sound of Scandinavian Death Metal mixed with UK Hardcore.

Produced by Stu McKay (Malevolence, Ingested) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Gatecreeper, Skeletonwitch), "Servants Of Violence" takes aim at the proliferation of cults in their various guises around the world, be they religious, political or media based, and how they are contributing to the demise of civilisation.

With artwork by Roberto Toderico (Pestilence, Vomitory) and 10 tracks of the band’s hardest hitting material to date, the debut album due for release this summer looks to be set as one of the strongest underground metal releases of 2022. More...

VRSTY Releases New Music Video

New York City-based collective VRSTY (pronounced "Varsity") - Joey Varela [vocals], Javy Dorrejo [bass], Chris Cody [drums], and Paul Gregory [guitar] - have shared a video for "Hush." The track is taken from the band's new album "Welcome Home," which was released in January via Spinefarm.

"'Hush' is definitely one of my favorite songs on the entire record," says Varela. "It's also one of the most different songs, simply because it's more uplifting and fun rather than dark and moody —my usual mood! Writing this song was incredibly therapeutic for me yet also super scary. Because it was so different, I wasn't sure if anybody was gonna like it. However when Welcome Home dropped, it ended up becoming a fan-favorite. I just hope it makes people feel the way it made me feel when I first wrote it." More...

Sigh Signs With Peaceville Records

As veterans of the black metal scene after more than 30 years of existence and eleven full-length studio albums, as well as being among the most eclectic metal bands with their effortless flirting between numerous musical genre influences over the years, it is a great pleasure to welcome Sigh to Peaceville for their next opus.

Sigh founder and main-man, Mirai Kawashima, shares a few words on the new signing: "I've been following Peaceville's history from the very beginning. I mean the albums by bands like Deviated Instinct, Electro Hippies, Doom, Axegrinder, Autopsy, Paradise Lost etc. were my go-to music in my youth. (and they still are!) When I visited London a few years ago, I met Paul (though we've known each other for around 20 years now) and talked about a possible re-release of 'Scorn Defeat' and, as you may know, it actually happened and went really well. So when Sigh needed a new home for the new album, Peaceville was an obvious choice. I am very happy to work with them and really cannot wait for the new album to come out through them later this year!"

Paul Groundwell, Peaceville’s label manager comments on the signing "At once intrigued and captivated by Sigh ever since the release of the timeless ‘Scorn Defeat’, with Eastern themes, the Celtic Frost-tinged riffing and also the effective integration of piano into an underground type sound, there was always a certain dark magic to the band which made them unique among much else in the early 90s scene. Certainly, Sigh went on to bigger things and much deserved success, exploring and embracing the weird and the wonderful without artistic compromise over the years. Venturing through the realms of the avantgarde and more traditional classic metal, the old school heart always remained. And so, with such an impressive body of work preceding them, we’re excited to witness this next chapter of the band’s legacy on Peaceville."

Stay tuned for more information on the release of the new Sigh album.

Trollfest Posts New Music Video Online

At the time of Trollfest’s last official transmission, we alerted you of their eccentric flamboyance and grooviness. This new alert is being dispatched to signal the arrival of a third, straight up pop single from Trollfest, no longer high-classified and officially out to entertain with good, positive vibes!

Singer Jostein "Trollmannen" Austvik about the "Piña Colada" music video:
"Friends are important, that is why we have made a video to remind everyone how horribly wrong things can go when you are alone. Also, don't be a picky fuzzmaker and pester your bartender!"
