Finland’s Hexvessel return on 22nd September (Svart Records) with their sixth album, "Polar Veil," a cold, metallic hymn to the Sub Arctic North. Today they have shared the glacial new single "A Cabin In Montana" which you can watch the video for below.
"A Cabin In Montana," the glacial third single from Hexvessel’s "Polar Veil" album, is a paean to radical environmental advocacy and unflinching nature worship. Speaking to a “deeper sense of belonging” in the wilderness, A Cabin In Montana draws from the eternal well of early nocturnal Black Metal, combined with hypnotic ritual chants and hypnotic synths and Hexvessel’s timeless themes of nature mysticism.

Cyhra Premieres "Ashlight" Music Video
Four years after the release of their previous studio album "No Halos in Hell," Cyhra proudly present their new album "The Vertigo Trigger." The Swedes' third full-length has been released today, and it perfectly reflects what the melodic metal band stands for: ear-splitting riffs, catchy choruses and plenty of melodies that make the band truly stand out.
The band based around singer Jake E (ex-Amaranthe) and guitarists Jesper Strömblad (The Halo Effect/ex-In Flames) Euge Valovirta (ex-Shining), drummer Alex Landenburg (Kamelot), and guitarist Marcus Sunesson (ex-The Crown / ex-Engle) demonstrate that they haven’t slowed down. With "The Vertigo Trigger," Cyhra have not only further developed their distinctive sound, but also proven how diverse they are. The best example for this is the latest single "Ashlight," which combines hard-hitting elements with a gentle attitude. And if that wasn't enough, the Swedes also deliver a new music video for the latest single to celebrate the album release.
Vocalist Jake E comments:
"It feels amazing to FINALLY have new music to release again! We put a lot of effort into finding out what the future of Cyhra's music was to be and I must say I am overwhelmed with the result. Both with the album and also the songwriting!. I think that we have made a fantastic follow-up to both of our first two albums, but also at the same time we’ve managed to modernise the songwriting. I can assure you that no Cyhra fan will be disappointed!" More...

The EP opens with "Beholden To Clan," a blazing slab of symphonic black metal. Guitarist Kody Keyworth comments, "Journeying high atop a sacred mountain, the song recalls the importance of the sacrificed king's cycle of rebirth through ancestral hallucinogenic rights of passage. It’s a wild trip. Hail Othila!" Elsewhere, “Twin Mouthed Spring” follows. This new track features vocals and acoustic guitar performed by founding Wolves In The Throne Room drummer Cedar Serpent who has recently returned to the live stage after a years long hiatus from live performance. He comments, "This song travels to a deep wellspring of passion and creativity. Themes from Celtic Mythology are pulled apart and remade."
Side B of the EP features a different side of the enigmatic band; "Initiates of the White Hart," an Atmospheric Industrial interpretation of "Spirit of Lightning," takes this live-set stalwart into deeper dark psychedelic waters while "Crown of Stone," a ritual dark ambient piece, connects thematically to "Mountain Magic" the lead track on 2021’s Primordial Arcana."

Orbit Culture Debuts "Descent" Music Video
Orbit Culture’s highly anticipated new album, "Descent," is released today, 18th August. This new effort is loaded with their unique blend of captivating song-writing with infectious hooks and crushing riffs. To celebrate the release, the band have unveiled a video for the album’s title-track. You can check it out below.
Niklas Karlsson (guitars/vocals) states: "With the video for ‘Descent,' you are fully engaged in the madness. It’s the pillar of feeling disgusted and chained by your own obsessive desires, whatever it may be. You are stuck in your own castle of self hate.
"We wanted this album to sound as big and aggressive as possible, while maintaining a pleasant listening experience. I took a lot of inspiration from the movie Dune, not because of the story or anything, but because the combination of imagery and music created this vast picture and we wanted to convey that epic feel with this new album.
"Spread over the whole album is of course, once again, a lot of metaphors. In reality, it’s just about being more closed up and defensive about the things you feel as you’re descending into madness. However, at the end of the album, being defensive was all along just being caring for your closest ones. It was better to walk alone and destroy yourself, rather than bring down anyone else trying to help you. It’s dark and it’s raw, but it’s only a perspective of me seeing the world at certain times of the year, and it helps to get it out there once in awhile." More...

Valkeat Releases "Thunderbird" Lyric Video
Valkeat continue the great tradition of epic Finnish metal epics, packed with sublime anthems and majestic songs, with jubilant choirs, primal melodies and pagan spirit. Within Temptation Announces New Album "Bleed Out"
Within Temptation, the renowned Dutch symphonic metal band, are set to captivate fans with their eighth studio album "Bleed Out" on October 20, 2023.
"Bleed Out" signifies a bold leap forward for the band. From contemporary, hard-hitting djenty riffs to soaring melodies displaying their symphonic roots, Within Temptation have created a sonic journey that fuses diverse musical styles and thought-provoking themes. This is an album that is as epic as it is unflinchingly outspoken, and now more than ever, this is a band who aren’t afraid to make a stand on issues they care about.
Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Within Temptation have shifted their focus from writing about personal emotions and societal subjects to tackling global injustices and reflecting the tumultuous state of the world in a way that other artists seem unable or unwilling to do.
Vocalist Sharon den Adel states, “The war in Ukraine has influenced us a lot. As artists we are inspired by the world, and we have this platform. We are storytellers, and I think as human beings, these are things we should be talking about.” More...

Unearthing the Metal Underground: Fulanno
Argentina’s Fulanno has been slugging away, at a dreary, doom pace, for years. Since its formation in 2010, the stoner doom outfit has released an EP, a couple of full-lengths, and a split with the new-is sludge outfit The Crooked Whispers last year. The Coronda, Santa Fe-based unit is set to release its third full-length on September 15 through Helter Skelter Productions/Regain Records. “Ruido Infernal” is tried-and-true stoner doom that balances that fine line between cocky swagger and that uncertain perception of what lies ahead in life.
