Dragonforce Signs With Napalm Records

Napalm Records is proud to announce the signing of the world’s fastest band – Grammy-nominated power metal legends DragonForce. Formed in 1999, the London, UK based unit has captivated audiences worldwide with their highly successful records and iconic singles, including the platinum-selling anthem "Through the Fire and Flames." Renowned for their epic compositions, DragonForce's signature lies in their masterful and lightning-fast guitar solos, brilliantly crafted by the virtuosic duo of Herman Li and Sam Totman. Comprising vocalist Marc Hudson, bassist Alicia Vigil, and drummer Gee Anzalone, the five-piece ensemble draw inspiration from a myriad of heavy metal styles, fantasy realms, and video games, blending 80’s rock influences with infectious sing-along choruses and uplifting melodies.

Together with today’s signing announcement, and with their most ambitious album on the horizon, DragonForce are excited to announce the North American headline leg of a colossal world tour that promises to be their most exhilarating to date. Featuring special guests Amaranthe with additional support from Napalm Records labelmates Nanowar of Steel, as well as Edge of Paradise, the tour will begin on 20th October 2023 in Mesa, AZ. After visiting many major cities across the US and Canada, the tour will culminate in a grand finale in Los Angeles, CA on 19th November. DragonForce promise to take their unique stage production to new heights, presenting a fresh setlist that includes new tracks, songs not played for a long time and beloved classics.

DragonForce guitarist Herman Li on the signing: “We are absolutely thrilled to join forces with Napalm Records, a true powerhouse in the metal music universe! This marks the beginning of an epic new chapter for DragonForce, and we're eager to see what our collaboration will bring to our fans around the world!”

Napalm Records Managing Director Thomas Caser adds: “It’s an absolute honor to team up with the mighty DragonForce and announce this signing today. Their speed, sound and hooks are undeniably legendary along with their captivating and unique concepts! We look forward to getting their new music out to the world!”

KK's Priest Replaces Helloween At Bloodstock 2023

German power metal legends Helloween has announced that they will no longer be performing at this year's edition of the Bloodstock Open Air festival. The band stated:

"The heavy storms in Slovenia (our thoughts are with the flood victims) and cloudbursts in Wacken couldn’t harm us - we played all our scheduled shows and celebrated together with our loyal fans. Much more difficult for us is now to inform you that we have to cancel the upcoming festival gigs at the Hellsinki Metal Festival in Finland and Bloodstock Open Air in the UK due to an acute laryngitis our singer Michael Kiske is suffering of. We did make this decision with a lot of consideration and with heavy hearts but Michael’s condition unfortunately does not leave us any other choice. Thanks for your understanding."

Stepping in to replace them will be KK's Priest, the band led by former Judas Priest guitarist KK Downing and fronted by Tim "Ripper" Owens, who will release their sophomore album, "The Sinner Rides Again" on September 29th.

"KK and the band are extremely delighted to be able to add Bloodstock to our summer 2023 European festival run and we consider it a real bonus to play in front of our English fans. We're certain it's going to be a great evening of metal. We're very much looking forward to it and we'll see everybody there ready to rock!" —KK's Priest

Cannibal Corpse Debuts New Music Video

Legendary death metallers Cannibal Corpse today unleash their latest single and accompanying video for "Summoned For Sacrifice." The pulverizing new hymn comes by way of the band‘s sixteenth studio album, "Chaos Horrific," set for release on September 22nd via Metal Blade Records.

Since their 1988 inception, Cannibal Corpse has remained at the forefront of death metal, shaping and defining the genre. In 2021, they raised the bar again with their "Violence Unimagined" offering. And in celebration of their thirty-fifth anniversary, this year‘s monolithic "Chaos Horrific" full-length, written shortly after the conclusion of the "Violence Unimagined" sessions, continues the trajectory.

While the band is notorious for technicality and complex songwriting, that doesn‘t define where the writing process takes them. With "Chaos Horrific," Cannibal Corpse had no master strategy, approaching each track with an open mind, intent on simply composing the best songs possible. Produced again by guitarist Erik Rutan, who has now produced six of the band‘s albums, starting with 2006‘s "Kill," (Chaos Horrific marks Rutan‘s second release as a full-fledged member, since officially joining the band in 2020), the record is, without question a full-on, Cannibal-style death metal outing, straight down to the themes, which include zombie warfare, resetting the human race through mass mutilations, and the violent revenge of victims of human trafficking, and its cover art by longtime collaborator Vince Locke

Of the band‘s second single, "Summoned For Sacrifice," themed around the selection of an individual to be dismembered, drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz elaborates, "One person is randomly selected to die. Thirteen people are randomly selected to kill this person by violently removing pieces of his body until he breathes no more." More...
