Ronnie Romero To Release New Album In September

Ronnie Romero has announced the upcoming release of his third solo album, "Too Many Lies, Too Many Masters," on September 15, 2023.

"Too Many Lies, Too Many Masters" sees Romero delivering a powerful musical statement on the first solo album of his to feature all-new original material.

Written by Romero with drummer Andy C. and guitarist Jose Rubio, "Too Many Lies, Too Many Masters" marks the first time that Romero has been involved with 100% of the songwriting on an album he sings on. Romero also co-produced the album with Andy C., marking another first for Romero. While these 'firsts” certainly add to the excitement for the album, it is the songs that truly take center stage. Romero's voice is completely at home on this diverse, hard rockin' set which is certainly going to please any fan of his vocal style and his work with his other bands.

Romero's voice and prolific musical activity have brought him to the forefront of the hard rock/metal scene where he can be seen/heard with Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, The Michael Schenker Group, Lords of Black, The Ferrymen, Sunstorm, and the recently launched Elegant Weapons with Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner. With an impressive discography already under his belt, "Too Many Lies, Too Many Masters" is arguably the crown jewel of Romero's recorded output thus far. More...

Triskelyon Debuts "Tektyranny" Lyric Video

Canada’s new power thrash metal gods Triskelyon will be unleashing their sophomore album, "Artificial Insanity" (mixed and mastered by Michael Small (Winterhearth, Triskelyon, Artach)) on September 8th via Moribund Records.

Today, the band is unveiling their next single "TekTyranny" featuring guest vocals from Infrared's Armin Kamal with a lyric video that can be seen below.

Guitarist Geoff Waye adds about the single:

"The album's opening track, this one is a thrasher of a song that kind of came out a little like Megadeth with a mixture of some tremolo picking almost black metal-esque guitar parts. It features Armin Kamal from the Canadian thrash band Infared. Their first run was back in the mid to late 80s, then they went on a long hiatus until they came back in 2014. Armin is another person who I didn't know personally, but I admired what he was doing with his band. So in keeping with the theme of looking for Canadian vocalists to help out with the vocals, I reached out to him to see if he'd be interested in singing a song on the album and luckily he was! I sent a rough mix of the song and my lyrics and let him do his thing. Armin does some amazing vocals on here. Listen for the high screams in the chorus, especially at the end of the song, which enters into the realms of Rob Halford and King Diamond. The mixture of that and his more gruff thrash vocals really stand out." More...

Display Of Decay Posts New Lyric Video Online

Display of Decay has been a cornerstone of the underground Canadian death metal scene for over a decade, having released five recordings (two eps and 3 albums) in that time, touring extensively, and making appearances at several festivals in Canada and the US. They have once again returned to the studio, to dish out another hefty serving of fast riffs, groovy bass lines, and thunderous gutturals as their fourth full-length "Vitriol" (Mixed & Mastered by Christian Donaldson of Cryptopsy) to be released in October of this year. While fans wait to sink their teeth into what promises to be a juicy offering of death metal, they can whet their appetites with the single "The Butcher." The band shares their thoughts on the song and its nerdy ties:

"'The Butcher' is the most dynamic song on the record. Its tempo fluctuates so much throughout to build up with the story behind the song. Initially, it started out as someone who was taken hostage and held against their will, soon to be burned alive, but we couldn’t help but draw reference to Diablo’s notorious Butcher who’s been featured in several of their games. The sheer heaviness of that intro and the catchiness of the chorus is guaranteed to turn heads and blow minds."

Line up for slaughter, "The Butcher" lyric video is out now, and "Vitriol" will arrive on October 20th via Gore House Productions. More...

Blind Channel Releases "Deadzone" Music Video

Finnish chart-topping Nu-Metal stars Blind Channel have released their newest single, "Deadzone," along with an accompanying music video. The band’s latest track further realises their ‘violent pop’ ambitions – showcasing catchy hooks, an anthemic chorus, and the melding of metal instrumentals with electronic/DJ effects. The new song is undeniably modern and infectious, while also cementing itself in the hard-hitting, irreverent sensibilities of heavy music from past decades. The backstory behind the wild, adrenaline-pumping music video traces back to the origins of the band’s formation.

On the new single, Blind Channel shares:
"'Deadzone' is one of our favourite songs we’ve ever written. It’s a song about reaching the point of no return. You gotta make a choice, to give up or keep going. 'DEADZONE' is the moment of absolute uncertainty. We’ve been there. Maybe you’ve been there as well."

Addressing the musical chemistry of the song, the band adds:
"We wrote this song in Los Angeles with the rock-writer-legend Johnny Andrews, who’s written hits for Three Days Grace and Apocalyptica. During those sessions we managed to combine our musical DNA from the early 2000s rock music with everything we love in mainstream music today. The music video was inspired by the true story about the formation of Blind Channel ten years ago."

"Deadzone" was co-written by Johnny Andrews, whose works includes credits with Three Days Grace and Apocalyptica, mixed by Grammy-nominated engineer Zakk Cervini (Blink-182, Machine Gun Kelly, Yungblud), and produced by the band. More...
