Former Hecate Enthroned Vocalist Passes Away

Cradle Of Filth frontman Dani Filth has shared the news that his former bandmate Jon Kennedy, also the original vocalist of symphonic black metal band Hecate Enthroned, has passed away at the age of 46. A message from Dani Filth reads as follows:

"It is with much sadness that we hear about the untimely passing of our former bassist Jon Kennedy.

"He was a great bassist and singer who filled in for Cradle at a time of such magical import, mayhem and mischief.

"I distinctly remember having a wickedly wonderful week staying just outside Wrexham in Wales at Jon’s Mum’s house in 1995.

"We picked our own magic mushrooms from a local football pitch and then watched Emperor synch up with the newly-released Disney Aladdin on VHS, heading out to undertake black metal shenanigans thereafter. We were always pulling pranks and playfully winding each other up back in those days. He will be missed!"

Kennedy was the vocalist and bassist of Hecate Enthroned from its inception in 1993 to 1994, before rejoining in 1995 and staying with the unit until 1998. He featured on the band's first two albums, "The Slaughter of Innocence, A Requiem For The Mighty" and "Dark Requiems... And Unsilent Massacre." During his first stint away from the band, he would spend a year with Cradle Of Filth, playing bass on the original version of "Dusk And Her Embrace," which would later be released in 2016 as "Dusk And Her Embrace - The Original Sin." Omnium Gatherum Posts New Video Online

Omnium Gatherum releases their newest visual offering for the song “Lovelorn”. This anthem can be seen below. The video (produced once again by Janne Tamminen -xarena.tv/music) was made with game-engine software Unreal Engine 5.

Jukka Pelkonen (vocals) comments: "With Lovelorn one tale ends and another one begins. Despite we the fact that we will be touring to bring you guys music we love to be experienced live, our brains and spirits are summoning fresh meat from the highs and depths of the OG realm. New musical adventures await us all and we will be taking all of you on a high-speed ride to the streets fierce and unknown!"

Markus Vanhala (guitars and clean vocals) adds: "'Lovelorn' is Gothic flirtatious death metal ballad, which closes the Slasher EP cycle being the last nail in this releases coffin before the autumnal burials. By an accident and giving a bit more emotional or atmospheric side of OG, it's a great pathway to the soon starting European tour where we are heading together with Paradise Lost, Primordial and Harakiri For The Sky - festival tour called 'Ultima Ratio', which we of course are looking forward to see all of you our great people. The video is filmed, edited, and visualized by our friend Janne Tamminen / Xarena from California. This time the project was quite special, as all band members weren't even on the same continent, let alone nobody played at the same time. Back to the future and back indeed with Mr. Tamminen with his tricks and traps!" More...
