Green Lung Unveils "Maxine (Witch Queen)" Video
Occult rock darlings Green Lung have released a new video for "Maxine (Witch Queen)," the second single from their hotly anticipated new record "This Heathen Land," which will be released on November 3rd via Nuclear Blast Records.
Vocalist Tom Templar comments: "We've celebrated British witchcraft in our lyrics since our first EP, and with this new single we wanted to celebrate the most iconic witch of the modern era - Maxine Sanders. The High Priestess at the heart of Alexandrian Witchcraft, Maxine is an unsung national treasure, and one of the first people to connect genuine witchcraft with rock 'n roll back in the early Seventies. 'Maxine (Witch Queen)' is a love song to Maxine from the perspective of a member of her coven, and melds pounding riffage with psyched-out combo organs and stacked, multi-layered vocal harmonies. We were honoured to have several members of Maxine's real life coven appear in the music video, and advise on the ritual elements. Ultimately, the song is intended as a celebration of Maxine Sanders, which we hope will introduce new initiates to her life’s work, and help her legend to live on." More...
The Hirsch Effekt Debuts "Granica" Video
German prog metal trio The Hirsch Effekt have revealed their new single "Granica" - the fourth and final single from "Urian," the new album due 29th September via Long Branch Records. You can check out the music video below.
Corona infection-related isolation forced Nils (guitar, vocals) and Ilja (bass, vocals) to carry out their planned songwriting session in two different places. When recovered from Covid, their songwriting time was nearly at an end. "Granica" is the virtue born of need, because the band had no more time to allow for another epic, technical prog song. In hindsight, a happy circumstance for the album, since it allows for a circular track, a shoegaze-like post-rock breathing point. And with it, a slice of colour you rarely see in The Hirsch Effekt universe.
The lyrics describe the protagonist's consternation that he "woke up in another world" on February 24th, 2022, with Russia's invasion of Ukraine. This is made clear by his act of helplessness, hastily offering his driving services and The Hirsch Effekt's own trailer to an aid convoy to the Polish-Ukrainian border at short notice. Plagued by strong doubts during the journey as to whether this is really an effective way to get involved and help, it becomes clear at the first service area behind the German-Polish border: “we are by no means the only ones here who have the feeling 'You have to help'" and needed an outlet for their own actions. A formative journey, at the end of which there lies the following certainty: "Forget it now! Nothing, really nothing, will ever be the same.” More...

I have told you that every song reveals a piece of the concept of the album, therefore it triggers different moods and emotions. This one as the title suggests takes your soul DOWN and DEEP into the ABYSS. Where hope goes to die. Where the Grand Plan is set in motion. Doom, gloom and darkness!

The Convalescence Announces US Tour Dates
Blending black metal/horror theatrics with intense death metal style blast beats and shredding guitar along with brutal slamming breakdowns and catchy melodies, Toledo, OH symphonic deathcore band The Convalescence announces they will be hitting the road in support of their new album titled "Harvesters Of Flesh And Bone", which will be released this coming November via Cleopatra Records. "This new album is basically like one big horror movie, song by song each one tells a story. Each one is brutal in its own way," adds vocalist Keith Wampler
The Convalescence expects "Harvesters Of Flesh And Bone" will be received well by the fans, as they do their very best to step things up on each record. They worked with producer Jason Suecof on this one at Audiohammer Studios in Florida who has worked with most of their favorite bands (The Black Dahlia Murder, Carnifex, Deicide, Job For A Cowboy) and they were beyond stoked he was down to do the recording with them. Gama Bomb To Release New Album In November
Irish thrash metal legends Gama Bomb have today announced details of their upcoming eighth studio album "Bats," to be released 10th November via Prosthetic Records.

Of the new album, Gama Bomb vocalist Philly Byrne comments: "'Bats' is the weirdest album we’ve ever made. It has a guest spot by hip hop legend The Egyptian Lover, a surprise sax solo, a futuristic prologue, and a crossover song with lyrics by Percy Bysshe Shelley - we finally felt confident enough to take the brakes off and had a lot of fun with the writing. Weird is good!"
Regarding "Speed Funeral," he adds: "There are songs on our new album that diverge from the ‘Gama Bomb formula’ a lot, so we wanted to lead with 'Speed Funeral' because it’s a fun, catchy, classic GB mosher. We’re breaking you in gently with this one!
"The lyrics are about something I’ve always dreamed of - when I die, I want to be strapped to a rocket and blasted off into space as my family and friends watch. We’re middle-aged men now, so maybe death is on our minds a bit more." More...
