Tesseract Unveils "The Grey" Single
Following their earth-shattering return with an announcement of a world tour, new single and epic 11-minute cinematic video for title track "War Of Being," UK prog-metal luminaries Tesseract continue their journey into The Strangeland in the form of new single "The Grey." You can check out the visualizer video below.
"The Grey" builds on signature grooves that undulate in Tesseract’s sound, flanked by polyrhythmic rhythms tied together by the band’s iconic melodies. It’s yet another example of the multi-faceted appeal of their sound and proves that they can craft immediate and affecting tracks just as masterfully as their epic 11-minute opuses.
Regarding the track, Amos Williams had the following to say:
"'The Grey' explores the story and character within The Strangeland of the same name. A character who has suppressed their own voice to the point that they have blended into the shadows, their story lost amongst the white noise of the world. Through the song we experience their journey as they wrestle with their frustration and sorrow at how they have ended up this way.
"It's a powerful, energetic piece that pushes each member of Tesseract to a next level of musicianship and expression. And continues to shine a light upon the diversity that can be expected from 'War Of Being.'"
Alongside the release of the single is a fully functional, immersive video game titled War Of Being. Launched on 11th August, the user can enter the world of the album bridging the gap between listening and experience to create a living, breathing concept that brings you closer to the world of Tesseract than ever before. Primordial To Release New Album In September
Long-running, Dublin, Ireland-based Pagan metallers Primordial will release their tenth full-length, "How It Ends," on September 29th via Metal Blade Records.
Primordial has nothing to prove. Having lasted thirty-two years and now returning with their devastating new studio offering, the Irish band has made it clear they are a primal force who consistently lay it all on the line. The follow-up to 2018’s critically lauded "Exile Amongst The Ruins," "How It Ends" sees them delivering more of their seminal blend of Celtic and black metal, with an extra added urgency, and staring down the apocalypse.
"The title is a question - is this how it ends? How it all goes down: culture, language, history, society - humanity - who knows?," says vocalist A. A. Nemtheanga. "Regardless of who you are or were, you get one chance at all of this, and it’s asking is this the end of your town, state, nation? Myths, traditions, relationships, and I suppose it asks the question, who reacts, who rebels - how does it end now for them?"
Working alongside founding members Pól MacAmlaigh (bass) and Ciáran MacUilliam (guitar) and longtime drummer Simon O’Laoghaire, the band started writing in earnest in the Fall of 2022, having lit a fire under themselves to work hastily and productively. Primordial never plans out a record beforehand, letting them come together naturally, though Nemtheanga knew he wanted something with a bigger, more open sound, and something more aggressive, which is exactly what they achieved. "'How It Ends' is a very angry, defiant, visceral, and rebellious album, and as we worked it all began to take more shape and form itself. It may be the note we go out on but it will be a note of resistance, in musical terms. I think it’s also more metal! And more epic!" More...

Evile Posts "Monolith" Lyric Video Online
UK metal frontrunners Evile have released a lyric video for their heavy-as-hell single "Monolith," taken from their new album "The Unknown," out now via Napalm Records. You can check it out below.
"Our 4th single from 'The Unknown' is the juggernaut called 'Monolith,'" Evile frontman OL Drake comments. "This song started after Adam sent over the main riff and we got to work on building on it. Our aim was for something menacing and dark, and this might be a contender for my favourite track on the album. The song itself is based on a recurring nightmare I used to have when I was young. I had it for months on end and it always featured this monolith presence with eyes at its base. I would be terrified to go to sleep in case I have it again. Enjoy the chug!" More...

Incantation Shares "Invocation" Music Video
American death metal stalwarts Incantation has released a new music video for the song, "Invocation (Chthonic Merge) X." You can check it out below. The song comes from the band's forthcoming new album, "Unholy Deification," which is scheduled to be released through Relapse Records on August 25th.
Edified over three-plus decades of experience, "Unholy Deification" is Incantation’s thirteenth full-length album. Validated by peers seasoned and new, Incantation is more vital than ever. The lineup, featuring founding guitarist/vocalist John McEntee, drummer Kyle Severn, bassist Chuck Sherwood, and guitarist Luke Shively, displays death metal know-how and the power of determination.
Lyrically, "Unholy Deification" originates with Sherwood. An avid reader and occult logician, the Incantation bassist wanted to capture a fully realized concept of evolution through enlightenment. Expect thought-provoking, historically derived intellection. The mortal-to-deity narrative interacts with the merciless musical conflagration of hard-hitting tracks such as "Concordat (The Pact) I," "Homunculus (Spirit Made Flesh) IX," and "Invocation (Chthonic Merge) X." Make no mistake - the ferocious new album, featuring guests Jeff Beccera (Possessed), Henry Veggian (ex-Revenant), and Dan Vadim Von (Morbid Angel), is pure death metal. More...
Hawxx Announces Debut Album Release Date

We dedicate this song to our amazing friends and fans (our kettle of metal)."

Thy Art Is Murder Debuts "Blood Throne" Video
Australia's extreme metal titans, Thy Art Is Murder, have revealed turbulent new single, "Blood Throne," taken from the band's forthcoming album, "Godlike," out September 15 via Human Warfare. You can check it out below.
"AND SO THEY ROT!!" growls a menacing CJ McMahon as he ushers in "Blood Throne" with a maniacal glint in his eye. From here, Thy Art Is Murder blast open the ninth circle of hell with a potent mix of mayhem and force designed to galvanize us into overthrowing the evil that reigns on the Blood Throne.
Guitarist Andy Marsh offers, "As we started work on 'Blood Throne,' we aimed to harness the same visceral energy that drove 'Death Squad Anthem' while pushing our boundaries to craft something unique. Kicking things off with a break beat groove, we wanted to set the tone with a jolt to the system preparing everyone for the chaos ahead. 'Blood Throne' embodies our attempt at creative anthemic power and groove spiraling into a reflection of oppressive organizations and regimes that profit and thrive on the toil and pain of the marginalized. Throughout our career, we have confronted these themes head on with the aim of igniting a fire within each listener and inspiring the collective strength to challenge the dominion of those who perpetuate suffering."
