Torn The Fuck Apart Debuts New Single

Since the formation of Kansas City, USA’s Torn The Fuck Apart in 2006, the band has been busy ripping people's faces off with a relentless onslaught of brutal death metal and gory horror themes. To date, they have released five studio recordings (an EP and four albums), with the sixth "Kill.Bury.Repeat." on the verge of climbing out of the mire to devour everyone later this year. Produced with esteemed music engineer Robert Rebeck (Origin), TTFA unleashes the first glimpse of the savagery to come in the single "Stuck In The Trunk," which the band comments on:

"'Stuck In The Trunk' is an infectious toe-tapper. A song that all fans of metal can enjoy. Nothing too complicated, just right-to-the-point death metal. A song about the horrors of being kidnapped, bound and gagged, and tossed in a car trunk by a demented menace, only to feel the momentary weightless terror as the car rolls off some cliff.”

Guitarist/vocalist Michael Langner, bassist/vocalist Brandon Mitchell, and drummer/vocalist Dylan Watt are all stoked to bring fans "Kill.Bury.Repeat.," which is a collection of horror stories spawned from either their own imaginations or inspired by true events. They believe this album represents the next level of brutality that they have worked to achieve over the years not only musically, but also lyrically, something that any fan of metal can enjoy.

TTFA started writing music for this album back before the Covid pandemic, and during the course of developing songs, they wanted to shoot for quality over quantity. They used this mindset to utilize what they had put together to formulate this collection of songs. They are excited to step into a new era of TTFA as a three-piece, and they strive to provide an entertaining live experience with studio-quality performance.

Brutal, gory, fast, and technical, "Kill. Bury. Repeat." is due out on October 6th, 2023 via Gore House Productions and is recommended for fans of Dying Fetus, Deicide, and Suffocation. More...

Cabrakaän To Release New Album In November

Cabrakaän was formed in 2011 by drummer Marko Cipäktli and vocalist Pat Cuikani who are both from Toluca, Mexico, and are currently based in Canada. They work with indigenous Mexican artists to incorporate authentic pre-Hispanic instruments like ocarinas, flutes, percussion instruments, and more in their dramatic, melodic music. They are ready to release their third album, "Aztlán" this year along with a documentary to share their culture in a metal format. The first single off this release "Mictlán" (pronounced mickt-lahn), details the nine levels of the underworld in Aztec mythology through which the dead must overcome a series of challenges before reaching their final resting place. The band explains more:

"Through haunting melodies and thunderous rhythms, 'Mictlán' delves into the depths of Mictlán, painting a sonic landscape that takes listeners on a journey through the nine levels of the Aztec underworld. With its powerful and energetic sound, the song captures the essence of Mictlán, enveloping the audience in an otherworldly experience. Mictlán is a concept that is still relevant today in understanding the meaning of our lives. The song contains the musical elements that make Cabrakaän who they are: a fusion of folkloric themes, orchestral arrangements, and, of course: heavy metal."

"Aztlán" is due out on November 17, 2023, and available for pre-order here More...

O.R.k. Debuts "Deadly Bite" Music Video

Controlled chaotic powerhouse, O.R.k. will be appearing at 2Days Prog + 1 Festival in Novara Italy and ahead of their performance the band reveal a new video for "Deadly Bite."

"Deadly Bite" has become a firm live favourite during the band’s recent shows, resonating strongly with the audience. The subject matter deals with the role of the subconscious and its function as a store of dreams and memories, and considering how it can shape everyday, waking life.

The lyrics touch on the subject of ‘waking life dream theory’, whilst also musing on the divide between fate and destiny.

In order for live performances and tours to happen, O.R.k. have previously juggled logistics, conflicting schedules and geographical distances between all four band members. However, this time, due to commitments with TU-NER, Pat Mastelotto, is unable to take his usual place with the band.

O.R.k. are instead very fortunate to be able to confirm that the highly talented Michaela Naydenova, (Nervosa) who appears in the video, will be filling in for the show on September 1st.

The band comments:
“Anyone who has seen Micheala play will know she is a fantastic drummer and we’re looking forward to her stepping into the O.R.k. live energy vortex. By way of introduction, we’d like to share this new video for Deadly Bite from our latest album Screamnasium.”

Regarding the single, Colin Edwin had the following to say:
"Deadly Bite" is easily the most ambiguous song on "Screamnasium" and invites multiple interpretations, and the accompanying video is rich with symbolism: a black car arriving from the unknown, mysterious bite marks as omens, the shock of awakening.... This is a song for anyone who has ever been bitten by a dream or unfulfilled desire, which I'd wager includes most of us” More...

Go Ahead And Die Reveals New Album Details

Arizona death-crusters Go Ahead And Die will deliver their caustic sophomore album "Unhealthy Mechanisms" on October 20th via Nuclear Blast Records. A torrential whirlwind born from the livid minds of Igor Amadeus Cavalera (Healing Magic) and Max Cavalera (Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy). This new installment to the band's dystopian catalogue is a fresh dive into the madness of society and the pollution that ravages our minds.

The first taste of the album comes in the form of the single "Tumors." The headbang-inducing track is a call out to the backstabbers who are toxic and are the "tumors" of life that if left to spread can become cancer. Check out the animated video created by Romanian artist Costin Chioreanu below.

Max Cavalera comments:
"The new G.A.A.D. is on its way! More brutal, feral, extreme, and intense than ever before! The album goes in a deep dive into the mental health subject and it’s produced by Igor A! It’s by far the most anarchist record I’ve ever been a part of in my entire career!"

Igor Amadeus Cavalera states:
"I’m so excited to release this monster of a record! This album will take you through the darkened madness of declining mental health. It is definitely the heaviest record I’ve ever created, and I can’t wait to unleash it on the masses! G.A.A.D.!" More...

Myrkur To Release New Album "Spine" In October

Today, Myrkur unfolds the next chapter in her personal mythology of Amalie Bruun, setting a new course for the enigmatic composer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. Marked by the birth of her child, and a means of making sense of the storm of emotions in that wake, her forthcoming album "Spine" charts a new course for Bruun through the most turbulent period of her life to new territories beyond, free from genre constraints, and giving rise to a new range of emotional and sonic contours.

This time around, Myrkur reunited with producer Randall Dunn in Sigur Rós’s Icelandic Sundlaugin studio to negotiate the contrast between the deepest human connection of mother and child, and an increasingly disconnected, alienating world, from pandemic restrictions and isolation to the rise of Artificial Intelligence. But if the claustrophobia of lockdown made an impact on the album, musically it’s Myrkur’s most open yet - Bruun’s pristine clear vocals a hyper-sensitive barometer, finely tuned to states where bliss, anxiety, grief, intimacy and psychic wanderlust co-exist, weaving wide-ranging traces of her musical background into rapt and tantalizing new forms.

Spine’s lead single, "Like Humans," available today, is a blend of lush, airy textures and apprehension-inducing, pounding undertow, where Bruun’s voice floats over the top as if from another dimension. She reveals, "When I wrote 'Like Humans', I felt very disconnected and isolated from the human race. The lack of touch and being in the first few years of motherhood forced me to become human in a way I never thought I would. Going through all of these changes at once made me desperately want to feel a connection with the earth and humans. Writing and recording this album helped me heal and succeed with that dream."
