Renouncer Working On Final Album
U.S. outfit Renouncer just checked in with the following update about the band's status and future plans:
"Renouncer is a Kansas City-based band that was formed in 2010. We've played a lot of shows with many bands we respect and have released an EP and a couple one off singles that ended up on Toxicbreed compilations. About a couple years ago the band announced that we would be on a long-term hiatus, but last year stated that this group would try to pick itself back up, work on a new EP and start playing shows again.
"As it were, I'm currently out on the road with Shai Hulud until the end of June. The plan right now is to start mapping out a full length rather than an EP; music that has been demoed out in previous years by me, and also a good handful of new music that I have churning inside my brain. I have a lot of resentment and hostility that needs a vehicle, and Renouncer now means to be just that. Unless some DIY label hits us up able wanting to release it on 12" vinyl, it will likely be available as a free digital download on our Bandcamp.
"Once this album has been released, Renouncer will be permanently defunct. I highly doubt that there will be any sort of last show unless there's some sort of demand for it to happen. But it's time for this thing to come to a close.
"There is no intention for this album to be a rush job. If it's the last thing this project ever does, it needs to be well defined, properly heavy, aggressive, fast, and pissed beyond belief. More news and things like that as it comes along, and definitely a new track for everyone to listen to before this gets completely released."
Immortal Announces New Album
Immortal has completed the writing of a ninth full-length studio album. The band issued this statement online:
"This will be our darkest and coldest album in a long time: pure Blashyrkh metal the way our fans know it, with massive majestic riffs, grim frostbitten vocals and tales from our mighty realm. Fast and furious tracks, epic tracks and longer playtime than any of our previous albums. Founding Immortal member, lyricist and guitarist Demonaz is now also handling the vocals.
"The massive fan support has been very inspiring and we will not let down the fans. The last year we have completed all the new songs and look forward to record our most passionate album in a long time. The songwriting process has been awesome and we are soon ready to start the recordings.
"In a time when true and origin Black Metal is nearly dead, the band is in ultimate spirit. After the last years incidents it was time to go back to the roots to what this band is really about musically, and also to take the integrity of the band back to where it belongs. Cold, grim uncompromising Blashyrkh metal with a true feeling is what we deliver. More...

Frost Posts "Numbers" Video
Frost* will release new album "Falling Satellites" this Friday and has now launched a brand new video for the track "Numbers." Produced by Crystal Spotlight, you can watch the video below.
Jem Godfrey had this to say about the video: "Us being us, we wanted to try something a bit different for the Numbers video that would make it more interesting visually than just 4 blokes in a room wobbling about so we shot everything using bit of software called DepthKit via a Kinect sensor.
"This enabled us to create 3D modelled versions of ourselves that could continue to freely be rotated, moved and manipulated even after filming was completed. The render times were horrendous, but Crystal Spotlight did an incredible job putting it all together. I think the end result is magnificently Frost*-ish and suits the song very well."
