Behemoth At Thalia Hall 4/29/2016
Behemoth always kick ass live. Always have, always will. “The Satanist” is Behemoth's best album, period. So when I heard that Behemoth were playing it in their entirety live, I simply had to go.
Of course, the venue was in an unfamiliar part of town where I had to take a bus that I'd never taken before after arriving at Union Station. A random guy on the street complimented my Fear Factory shirt while I got lost wandering around a four block radius looking for just the right street corner which was nice. It would have been nicer if I could actually figure out the right street address since the directions on Google Maps were kind of confusing since it couldn't pinpoint my location.
I reached the #60 bus stop right while I had a red light across the street from the bus. It was an eight minute wait if I didn't board ASAP despite knowing that I'd never be able to make it to the door in time without being run over. I made a run for it right as I got a green light and knocked on the door as the bus began to move. The driver asked if I was crazy. I relied with, “yeah, a little.” Being crazy may be dangerous but I can't complain since crazy gets me results. More...

Marking the first new material from the band’s current recording session, a rough, unedited version of “The Clemency Guise” can be heard below.
Lane gave insight into the track’s significance, stating “'The Clemency Guise' is about a transformation by tragedy that brings a realization that our quest for happiness is misguided by comfort and security. With a new understanding, we can bring others to enlightenment through torture using torment as a gateway.”

"'Laugh of the Tsar' was written eight years ago and on Lineage we FINALLY give life to this surreal whirlwind of a symphonic metal track. From beginning to end, the song charges ahead with a fast-tempo onslaught of melodic death metal against an orchestral backdrop with only a brief respite in the middle to showcase Scythia's ability to weave beautiful slavic-style folk music into a crushing metal track."
Although the band primarily self-produced the album, "Lineage" features engineering from Nino Laurenne (Firewind, Finntroll, Wintersun, Ensiferum) and Lasse Lammert (Alestorm, Gloryhammer, Powerwolf), and mastering from Svante Forsback (Rammstein, Volbeat, Firewind, Apocalyptica). Nino Laurenne is also responsible for mixing duties on the album. "Lineage" was recorded at LSD Studios in Lubeck, Germany and Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki, Finland. More...

Satyricon Re-Issuing "Nemesis Divina"
"There are, at most, a handful of albums and a handful of songs that really define modern day black metal. 'Nemesis Divina' is definitely one of those records, and ‘Mother North‘ is definitely one of those songs,” Satyr boldly claims.
When Satyricon released a third album in 1996, the band's status as one of the most significant and creatively vital bands in Norwegian black metal was already beyond dispute, but "Nemesis Divina: was no ordinary record or just another step along the road to infamy.
To herald the 20th anniversary of this most illustrious piece of dark art, "Nemesis Divina" will be re-released on May 20th via Napalm Records, newly remastered by Satyr himself, and boasts upgraded and revamped packaging.
Satyricon will then embark on a series of exclusive one-off shows, performing the record in full for the first and only time.
“It’s not what we do and it won’t happen again!” avows frontman and creative mastermind Satyr. “This band, as you know, is definitely not retrospective. But we started playing live in 1996. Our most groundbreaking milestone record came out in 1996. It’s the only one that we still play several songs from in our set to this day… so if we're ever going to do a reissue, do anniversary shows, and make it a big deal, it’s gonna be 'Nemesis Divina', and it has to be now.” More...
Integrity Releasing Split With Power Trip
Magic Bullet Records presents a split release between Integrity and Power Trip, due out June 17th, 2016.
The release is semi-dual-reissue in nature, as Integrity's contribution is a retooled, remixed rendering of the 2010 Magic Bullet Records 7" "VVe Are the End." The Power Trip material culls the two original tracks from a self-titled 7" on Lockin' Out Records, originally released in 2011.
Previously unheard or released prior, Integrity also contributes "Her Eyes is Filled with ?tars," a unique cover of the bizarre song that Howdy (Crispin Glover) serenades Stephanie (Jenny Wright) with in the 1989 film Twister. The cover song is exclusive to this split across all formats.
Brand new artwork and layouts by Integrity's Dwid Hellion draws further cohesion between the bands on this one, as both physical formats feature a "co-headliner" visual presentation and a foldout poster containing all lyrics, credits, and additional original artwork. For vinyl fans, the first pressing is being issued on three color ways: black, clear, and red. Both sides are spun at 45rpm for maximum fidelity. The record will also see CD and full digital release.
1. VVe Are the End (Integrity)
2. Beneath Black Flames VVe Ride (Integrity)
3. Her Eyes is Filled with Stars (Integrity)
4. Divine Apprehension (Power Trip)
5. Suffer No Fool (Power Trip) More...

Trick Or Treat Details "Rabbit's Hill, Pt. 2"
Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the release of Trick Or Treat's new album "Rabbit's Hill Pt. 2" on July 8th!
2012 proved to be an important year for Trick Or Treat, firstly because singer Alessandro Conti was chosen to be the lead singer of Luca Turilli's Rhapsody and secondly, the band released their concept album "Rabbits' Hill, Pt.1," based on Richard Adams' novel "Watership Down."
Four years on, the second chapter, "Rabbit's Hill Pt. 2" is now finally finished and comes with the news of the band signing a worldwide, multi-album deal with Frontiers Music Srl. The recording sessions for the new album have been the longest the band has ever taken part in and the work with producer Simone Mularoni (DGM) captured all the intricate details of their take on power metal. For this album, the band added huge orchestrations and epic choirs mixed to their usual signature power metal sound, in order to sonically reflect all the epic adventures told through the lyrics. The musical vibes range from acoustic and melodic parts to darker, heavy metal anthems.
Once again on this new album, Trick Or Treat had the honor to work with great international guest musicians and friends like Tony Kakko from Sonata Arctica, Sara Squadrani from Ancient Bards and, in the role of the evil general Woundwort, Tim "Ripper" Owen (ex-Judas Priest ex-Yngwie Malmsteen).
Frontman Alessandro Conti on the new album and working with Frontiers Music SRL:
"After a long time spent on the production of the new album, we can finally confirm the official release date and the last guest singer. In addition to our friends Sara Squadrani and Tim Ripper Owens, we're so happy and proud to have our friend Tony Kakko on "Rabbit's Hill Pt. 2" is an incredible honor for us! These guests did an amazing job, helping us to capture the perfect atmosphere of the concept taken from Richard Adam's novel "Watership Down." More...

Flayed Signs To Kaotoxin Records, New EP This Fall
Kaotoxin Records is proud to announce the inking of a multi-album deal with French Hard Rock sextet Flayed.
Created in 2013 and having since released two full-length albums (“Symphony for the Flayed”, 2014 and “Monster Man”, 2015) and having played nearly 250 gigs in Europe and Canada, Flayed are reviving the 70’s Hard Rock feel (think AC/DC, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath…) adding more modern influences to the formula (Foo Fighters…), creating their very own approach of the style as demonstrated in the latest music video for the song “Monster Man," title track of their latest album (see below).
First step of the newly sealed pact will be the release of FLAYED’s brand new EP this fall, supported by a new tour in November. Until then, catch the frantic stage-crushing machine’s live performances at the following events and stay tuned for more info!

Zamboni Changes Name To Nuclear Hatred
NJ/NY crossover thrash act Zamboni has changed its name to Nuclear Hatred based on a notification from Frank J. Zamboni & Co, Inc. concerning trademark infringement. The band has repackaged the self-titled debut with the new name, which is now available for purchase and streaming over here.
The debut album features the bombastic bass and booming vocals of Chris Butera, and the Ramones-esque buzzsaw riffing guitars of Robert Orr. The album is also available from CD Baby at this location and will be coming to Spotify, Amazon, and iTunes in the very near future.
The band began recording their self-titled debut in 2014, with a myriad of issues and time constraints leading to drummer Robert Padilla's unofficial departure and a plethora of delays. Two years later, the album is finally complete and ready to cause riots in the streets. Due to the band's longstanding drummer dilemmas, Orr and Butera have decided to go the route of Agoraphobic Nosebleed and both record and play live with programmed drums - proving once and for all that no band is more awful than the dreaded Nuclear Hatred. The band is already recording new material for their next release!
Binary Code Issues Lyric Video For New Track
New Jersey progressive metal group Binary Code recently announced the May 24th release of the highly-anticipated metal opus "Moonsblood," the full-length follow-up to the buzzed-about 2009 release, "Suspension of Disbelief." With less than a month to go before release, the band has dropped a brand new lyric video for the title track "Moonsblood," which you can hear in the player below.
Guitarist Jesse Zuretti states, "On my end, the music was written during the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. We had no power for two weeks, the place I lived in was in total post-apocalyptic dismay. I wrote the song on acoustic guitar, oddly enough. I had just watched the movie 'Melancholia' by Lars Von Triers, which was about a planet colliding with Earth. I just tried to tie in a score of sorts to what I was surrounded by, coupled with the atmosphere of the movie. Oded's lyrics are certainly complimentary to the tone."
You can pre-order "Moonsblood" now via the band's Bandcamp page - the first 50 pre-orders will receive a special signed poster featuring the album art image below. More...
