Yeti On Horseback Signs With Medusa Crush
London, Ontario-based doom band Yeti On Horseback is pleased to announce a signing with Medusa Crush Recordings. Full details on the album, which is titled "The Great Dying," will arrive shortly. Medusa Crush founder Mathieu Sankeralli commented:
"It is truly an absolute blast to have this local tour-de-force releasing their debut with Medusa Crush Recordings. They had my ear with obscure singles over the years and I wondered when their first full outing was due; well I guess that was due with us!
"The sheer doomsday crunch they pack is further intensified by the wall of sonic wail the vocals provide, and with the visuals of Jeremy Famir enveloping the release, things are all too abundantly and horribly clear. This is down-to-business heavy that people in the know will agree, should be spread like wildfire in the coming months to years ahead. Big things on the horizon for these lads, if they want it, I do believe they'll be taking it! Take heed... skies of black and red shall become the norm."
Vocalist/Guitarist Ryan Pelkey further commented: "We are happy to have partnered with a man who is part of a dying breed. A lifelong metalhead whose ears steer him towards only the most sincere in heavy music. Music should be created and produced with passion and with Medusa Crush Recordings we have that in spades. Our family grows… as we die." More...

Sarabante Posts New Song
Greek hardcore crew Sarabante has issued a track from incoming second LP, "Poisonous Legacy," which is set for release through Southern Lord in June. Check out the "Mass Grave" below. Southern Lord comments:
"The gripping, lamenting melodies of the guitars on 'Poisonous Legacy' define the album's sound, and speak volumes about Sarabante's world view. Eloquently miserable harmonies soar then hammer down on the listener, constantly seeking nervous and reverberating moments to amplify and meld into their modern crust motion, involving copious amounts of righteous d-beat and clarity amongst the crunch.
"Few have done it so well since the advent of Tragedy and His Hero Is Gone, and Sarabante is undoubtedly creating their own approach with impressive, aggressive songwriting, and forceful momentum. Their meticulous attention to mournful atmospheres is maintained across the twenty-six minutes, filling 'Poisonous Legacy' with rampaging passages and brooding breakdowns, and making the record a thrilling and powerful statement from Sarabante." Extrema Posts "Carcasses" Video
Classic Italian thrash metal band Extrema recently announced the upcoming release of new offering, "The Old School" EP, due out May 27th, 2016 via Punishment 18 Records.
The album features five tracks originally written during the band's heyday - primarily unheard as finished recordings until now. "The Old School" EP is available for pre-order now.
Today Extrema is pleased to release a brand new music video for the refreshed track "Carcasses," featuring Destrage's Ralph Salati. The "Carcasses" video was filmed, directed, and edited by Daniele Farina with additional filming from Jimmy Rey, Loris Marinoni and Nicole Alagna.
Guitarist Tommy Massara comments about the track and video: "'Carcasses' is the only track on the new EP that was never recorded before, even on a demo. I found the song on a rehearsal tape that was unheard and un-played since 1987. All we did was change up the lyrics for this EP.
"It was immediately clear to the whole band that this song was perfect for an in-your-face video. We contacted our close friend Daniele Farina to direct, film and edit the video, who also filmed and edited two of the videos from our 2013 album, The Seed of Foolishness. The place he suggested to film it is currently abandoned, a totally dangerous place for us to be and I don't think we were even supposed to be in there. But it was incredible for the video - such a cool place. The results came out amazing." More...

Cattle Decapitation Releases New Video
After recently completing a European tour with Suffocation and Abiotic, Cattle Decapitation has returned home to release a new video for "Clandestine Ways (Krokodil Rot)," taken from latest album, "The Anthropocene Extinction" (reviewed here).
Directed once again by Mitch Masse, who also directed the band's video for "Your Disposal," "Clandestine Ways (Krokodil Rot)" is another visual feat in the band's notorious filmography. The censored edition is available below. The un-censored version will be released soon; stay tuned for more details.
Travis Ryan (vocals) comments: "Mitch Massie once again hurls us into a nightmarish world of the eye for an eye table turning that Cattle Decapitation lyrics exude, but this time in a much more surreal manner. Here we see the circus has come to town and with it a grisly 'freaks' exhibit featuring the barbaric aftermath of what the protagonists (the 'Ringmaster' and a freed 'specimen') have done to the leading researchers at Cosmeugenics Laboratories - a place where Cosmetics testing is performed on earthen creatures all in the name of Human vanity - but this time by completely incorrectly administering the clandestine, flesh-eating drug 'krokodil.' I'll leave out the horrific details as you'll have to see that for yourself!" More...

Valient himself commented on the new album: "'Old Salt' wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for Eidan Thorr. He helmed this beast & put the wheels in motion. What is it about? If you ask me it's about stepping into the future as an artist while trying to anticipate what comes next using that old man logic that comes with age- that no one ever tells you about until it's time to say 'if I'd known then what I know now.' All the best old storytellers aren't just weaving you yarns. They are recounting from experiences. And believe me, we've had plenty of those in the last few years."
