“We wanted to find a balance between continuity and progression. We never wanted to change our sound, but achieving that and also creating something new isn’t an easy task! We feel we hit the nail on the head with this album,” says band frontman and founder Ahren Gray. “We couldn’t have dreamt of what this album has become. So many hours have gone into writing, rewriting and collaborating on these songs and I’m truly proud of what we’ve produced. Scorpion Child Posts New Lyric Video
Austin, Texas based hard rock band Scorpion Child will release new LP "Acid Roulette" on June 10th via Nuclear Blast Entertainment.
Recorded with Grammy-nominated producer Chris “Frenchie” Smith (Datsuns, Jet, The Dandy Warhols) and mixed by Dave Schiffman (Jane's Addiction, System of a Down), the conceptual album chronicles "the life trials of a traveling man wrongly imprisoned for a murderous crime."
Check out a lyric video for the dynamic new Scorpion hild track "My Woman in Black" below. Fresh off a sold-out Monster Magnet / Scorpion Child European tour, Ayrn Jonathan Black comments:
"The protagonist character portrayed in 'Acid Roulette' was forced into confessing to a murder that he did not commit by his wife and her wealthy lover, so that they could live out their romance without him in the picture. Once sentenced to a life's term, he goes through extreme emotions, dealing with fact that the only woman he'd ever loved has taken everything he'd known as 'real' away from him.
"He has to create and redefine his own reality and experiences many different psychological changes throughout the years, but is able to 'escape' via the use of hallucinogens and daily songwriting. The focus is mainly on the seasons in a year, for each song represents a month. These songs become his 'diary of a madman'. 'Acid Roulette' wires us into these extremes." More...

Honky Releasing "Corduroy"
When you think of Texas, what comes to mind? Big skies? Big trucks? Hot women with big... hair? Everything, as they say, is bigger in Texas... And that what ain't bigger is more bizarre. After all, in a state that refers to itself as a republic, things can get pretty skewed.
Enter Honky, which proudly carries the torch held by the likes of Bloodrock, Pantera, ZZ Top and the red-headed stranger himself, Mr. Willie Nelson. This Austin superboogie trio was founded in 1996 by long time Butthole Surfer/part time Melvins bassist JD Pinkus, Bobby Ed Landgraf (Down, Skrew) on guitar, and Trinidad Leal (Dixie Witch) on them skins.
Honky's newest release (and eighth overall) entitled "Corduroy" is another feast of down and dirty rock, rollin' across the finish line on May 27th via on Philip Anselmo's Housecore Records. The track listing is as follows:
1. Corduroy

Denner / Shermann Releasing "Masters Of Evil"
Twin guitar legends of Mercyful Fate Michael Denner & Hank Shermann have completed the mixing and mastering of their new Denner / Shermann full-length album, "Masters Of Evil," due to be released by Metal Blade Records on June 24th.
The album cover was painted by Swedish artist Thomas Holm, who also created the "Satan's Tomb" artwork. The mixing was once again handled by Arnold Lindberg at Sound Industry Studio in Gothenburg, Sweden, who engineered the "Satan's Tomb" EP. Mastering was done once again by Maor Appelbaum in Los Angeles, California.
"After 'Satan's Tomb', we continued aggressively writing and recording ideas, except for the short break we took to do all the press for the release of the debut. We are very excited with the outcome, and the full-length album is ready to be unleashed this summer," says guitarist Hank Shermann.
Vocalist Sean Peck comments, "This record really has it all I think. Working with Hank and Michael and the guys creating this record, was the ultimate metal thrill ride for me! I can't wait to hear the fan reaction to this sinister sonic salvo of savagery!"
Michael Denner also adds, "This new record really shows how the five of us have grown as a band and bonded as songwriters. It contains the kind of compositions I believe our fans would expect from us. I think this release will serve as kind of a tribute to our incredible fans worldwide, as we recognize and acknowledge their die hard loyalty over the years." More...
Hatebreed Posts Track-By-Track Video
After discussing positive mental attitudes, Hatebreed's Jamey Jasta has released a new track-by-track video discussing upcoming album "The Concrete Confessional" (due out May 13th through Nuclear Blast worldwide. Check out the clip below.
According to Jasta, "'A.D.' was the track from the get, what we knew was strong, it was fast, it was brutal, it had that quality that you want for the opening track on a album."
With the song "Looking Down the Barrel of Today," Jasta explains, "The day is either going to control you or you are going to control it. You're either holding the barrel or you're getting it pointed at you. I thougt it was a great second track just to keep that flow. Really heavy, really fast, right out of the gate."
The album's third song, "Seven Enemies," is a take on the seven deadly sins. "A lot of those things lead to destructive lifestyle patters," Jasta says. "People gravitate toward their vices and sins and it dooms them... and then that starts affecting the people around them It's a short, heavy song, and we know that the pit will erupt when we get it into the set."
With "In The Walls," Jasta channels his personal experiences with night paralysis and night terrors, and the fear that one might be losing one's mind. "It's something different for us, but it's also really a fast, heavy, hardcore track, that reminds me of old-school Hatebreed." More...

Jordison spoke with Sirius XM’s Liquid Metal host José Mangin about forming Vimic and the significance of the band’s forthcoming album. “I decided that I really wanted to start fresh. We went in and said, ‘let’s just go back to being in the studio, jamming as a band, getting together with our instruments… and just creating from the ground up. That was one of the coolest things about creating this record.’”

Dez Fafara comments on the new track: “[It's] about a negative person trying to literally ruin the night as heard by the line 'you've poisoned the wine and it's my night.' And instead turning it around on them, showing them a mirror of themselves as heard in the first line of the verse 'desperate in your sadness so wear black cloth.' Showing that person that it's indeed their own negative thoughts of themselves that are not only ruining the night but in fact their life ....SMACK!”
DevilDriver is currently crossing the U.S. on the "Trust No One" world tour, which will include dates with Hatebreed, The Devil you Know and Act of Defiance and performances at Rocklahoma and River City Rockfest. Dates are available after the track stream. More...

Ribspreader Reveals "Suicide Gate" Details
Swedish/U.S. death act Ribspreader - fronted by Rogga Johansson of Paganizer/Putrevore (amongst many) - has just revealed the cover artwork for the 6th album "Suicide Gate - A Bridge to Death" as well as an advance track, which you can hear below. The release date for the album is set for June 15th via Xtreem Music both on CD & 12"LP version.
The album's artwork was created by cult artist Juanjo Castellano. "Suicide Gate - A Bridge to Death" is a killer slab of true Swedish death metal that keeps the rawness of bands like Carnage or Grave, with the catchiness of Entombed and the great sense of melody of Edge of Sanity. With this album, Ribspreader find themselves in the best moment and the result is an awesome album.

Q5 To Launch "New World Order"
Frontiers Music Srl is excited to announce the release of the anticipated third album from Q5, entitled “New World Order” on July 8th. You can pre-order the album now on both Amazon.com: here and iTunes: here.
Q5 was formed in 1983, comprised of members of two popular Seattle bands: vocalist Jonathan K and guitarist (plus famous guitar tremolo inventor) Floyd Rose from The C.O.R.E. and Rick Pierce (guitar), Evan Sheeley (bass) and Gary Thompson (drums) from TKO. The band released its first album, "Steel The Light" (on Music for Nations) in 1984, receiving immediate worldwide critical acclaim, and landing them touring spots with Twisted Sister, Y&T and Lita Ford. The success of "Steel The Light" led them to eventually sign with Polygram/Squawk for their 1985 sophomore release, "When the Mirror Cracks". Due to personal differences, the original lineup dissolved shortly after this release.
In 2014, Q5 was asked to perform at Sweden Rock Festival, a performance that the band had agreed would be a "one off" show, but at the completion of the performance, it was obvious that this was not an ending, but merely a beginning. Upon returning to Seattle, The band secured drummer Jeffrey McCormack (former Heir Apparent, Fifth Angel) and guitarist Kendall Bechtel (former Fifth Angel) and began rehearsing formally as "Q5". The band's relaunch debuted at the ROCK You To HELL Festival in Athens, Greece followed by a headlining performance in Cyprus. The band then returned to Seattle to begin work on music for a new album. Kendall Bechtel, however, was unable to stay with the band due to personal reasons, so the band secured guitar virtuoso Dennis Turner to complete the lineup. More...
