You may recall for a while there we were running a regular column about video games with heavy metal soundtracks, and it probably shouldn't come as much of a surprise that several of us here at Metalunderground are avid gamers or involved in the games industry.

For those who like the two worlds to collide - have you seen the new Doom launch trailer or picked the game up yet? It's like every heavy metal album cover ever, all rolled up into one gory package. We're stoked to see the return of relentless, fast-paced action in Doom again, as it was meant to be!

Ancient Ascendant To Record Album

U.K. metal band Ancient Ascendant is about to record the follow-up to 2014's "Echoes and Cinder." The group issued this statement online:

"We will be entering the studio in 1 weeks time to record album number 3, which we are very proud to announce will be released via Spinefarm Records later this year.

"The album will be recorded and engineered at Ritual Sound - Recording Studio by the wonderful Sam Turbitt, and we'll be returning to the dream team of Dan Swanö and Rotten Fantom for the mix/master and artwork respectively.

"We can't wait to unleash this new material on you all, it is the absolute epitome of what this band have been trying to achieve since its inception. Be prepared for the most Ancient Ascendant album you can imagine!

Node Posts "Death Redeems" Footage

Node released sixth studio effort “Cowards Empire” on April 26th via Punishment 18 Records. In support of that release, the Italian band performed on Friday, May 13th, at Rock In Park 2016.
