Eths Streams Full New Album Online

French metal band Eths is now streaming relentless forthcoming new album "Ankaa" online in full. Listen in below. Regarding the new album, Eths guitarist Staif Bihl comments:

"Here we are, the entire album! I'm really glad to finally share it with everybody. Each song has its own universe and I have built 'Ankaa' as a walk through these different atmospheres, like a passage from the oppressive darkness to soothing clarity. I tried to keep the essence of the band but, in the same time, to bring it in places where we've never been.

"I injected a big part of myself in this opus and I hope you'll like it as much as we do! We want to warmly thank all those who participated in this album, a part of each of us is in here! Faustine Berardo, Sarah Layssac, Jon Howard & Björn Strid for all the additional vocals, Dirk Verbeuren for the drumming, Guillaume Dupré for the percussion, Nelson Leeroy for the mixing, Mobo (Conkrete Studio) for the mastering & Nicolas Senegas for the artwork. This album is dedicated to our friend Isilion."

Light Of The Morning Star Announces Debut EP

Iron Bonehead Productions has set June 24th as the international release date for the debut mini-album of London outfit Light of the Morning Star, titled "Cemetery Glow."

The work of one mysterious O-A, Light of the Morning Star is one of the most unique entities to be released on Iron Bonehead. Across the three songs here, elements of hypnotic deathrock, molten doom, and atmospheric black metal are intertwined to such an extent that easy categorization is nigh impossible.

The label comments: "Light of the Morning Star is an unending prayer to the darkness of the world. It is the glow of graves at midnight. It is the voidshadows that shiver and move between crumbling tombs. It is the fangs in the tree of life.

"Light of the Morning Star is a ritualistic summoning of gloom, unholy radiance, and the ghosts of darker times. Light of the Morning Star is vampirism, necromancy, and Devil worship." More...

Gridfailure Posts "Apparitions Revenge"

Gridfailure is the unforeseen, disharmonic outcome of an experiment that rapidly spiraled out of control in very recent weeks. Barely two months old, the solo outfit has completed a full-length album set for release in May via The Compound Recs, and today sheds the track "Apparitions Revenge" from the demoralizing effort.

The genesis of Gridfailure unexpectedly took place in February of 2016 when solitary member David Brenner (Theologian, ex-Heidnik, Vise Massacre, etc.) began to conduct disturbing Frankensteinian experimentation on material collected from various solo recording sessions over several months prior.

With no forethought as to what these sessions were to become, while layering these disturbing and off-kilter recordings, the mutated pieces began cannibalizing each other in an uncontrollable downfall; instead of ending the experiment under acres of hard earth immediately, the confused creator dove headlong into the abyss. Defeated Sanity Releasing New Album

Germany’s Defeated Sanity returns to the fold with new full-length experimental release “Disposal Of The Dead/Dharmata.” Defying convention, the album is comprised of two separate EPs, and is essentially a split release with itself.

"Disposal Of The Dead" is Defeated Sanity in the band's most primal form. A caveman-esque display of audio barbarity, that is stripped down, raw, and unrelenting. "Dharmata" is an homage to old school progressive death metal, recruiting vocalist Max Phelps (Exist, Cynic, Death To All), and venturing into more avant-garde territory.

Bass player Jacob Schmidt comments: "With this new release, we present Defeated Sanity in an unusual, unexpected way. See it as a concept... an irregularity in our discography. Enjoy listening to us playing outside of our known style!” More...

Black Absinthe Streams "Winter" Track

Toronto's Black Absinthe just released another track from "Early Signs Of Denial," produced by Dave Baksh (Cross Dog, The Mahones) plus mixed and mastered by Frank Gryne.

Set for release on May 13th, 2016, the album is the band's first professional recording to follow three self-recorded EPs "Live At Coalition" (2014), "Noise Complaint" (2014), and "Augusta" (2012).

Check out the new track "Winter" below. Vocalist / guitarist Jack Cerre comments: “‘Winter’ is one of our favourite tracks to play live, and the experimentation during production surprised us! The song is about a family crossing the frozen St. Lawrence River during the settlement of Canada.

"There are French and English lyrics about a struggle against time and nature. While recording, the song exploded with harmony. (Producer) Dave Baksh and I worked out a lot of interesting guitar work, really just ear candy for true metal fans. It’s an epic, so let the wind wash over you and take you to a cold dark place.” More...

Visigoth And Night Demon Enthrall Austin

Visigoth made their furthest trip east as they played only their second show, ever, in Texas. The Salt Lake City group came into Austin on tour supporting NHOBHM revivalists Night Demon. Although having a show on a Tuesday night didn’t produce a full house, the overall concert, including local tribute Thin Lizzy tribute band, Think Lizzy, was one of the best shows to ever embrace Beerland’s dark confines.

Never have I seen a local opener produce as much anticipation as Think Lizzy. Before taking the stage, members of Visigoth told the band before the show started how much they wanted to see them, and their members plus the Night Demon guys were up front supporting the tribute act. Led by a real Irish man, Steve O’Brien, who donned an afro wig to look just like fallen singer/bassist, Phil Lynott, the group played a full set of Lizzy tunes.

The crowd sang along to a full set of Lizzy classics while playing air guitar to some of the best guitar harmonies ever produced (air guitar was ever-present from the crowd). The group even brought up special guests like Night Demon’s newest guitarist Armand John Anthony and former Eternal Champion bassist Sean Weingartner. Weingartner took over the bass and mic to perform a non-Lizzy song, “The Ace of Spades.” Armand joined the group in a Maiden-esque three-way of melodious guitars for arguably the band’s most metal song “Emerald.” More...

Vocalist M. Chvasta commented: "The lyrics for this song are fairly face-value. They explore the sentiment of being literally close to someone but hopelessly distant.
