Los Angeles melodic death/thrash group Murashita, the solo project of singer/guitarist Masaki Murashita (ex-Hemoptysis), has announced a duo of debut U.S. shows starting in the southwest after successful Japanese tour last September.

Murashita comments: "I am super stoked to be playing in the U.S. again with great talents and people. There are good vibes and amazing energy in the band, and I'm beyond happy to finally have a band that is the powerful, unified unit that I've wanted for years. Svart Records has set May 13th as the international release date for Lost Boots' debut album, "Come Cold, Come Wind." Lost Boots consists of a trio of musicians previously performing as Sweatmaster, plus extra guitarist Tomi Helomaa.
"After Sweatmaster, we tried playing a bit of everything, even Finnish language prog rock, but nothing seemed to click. It was only after Tomi [Helomaa, guitar] came along that we really had a band together," says guitarist/vocalist Sasu Mykkänen.
The band defines Lost Boots as being a more manly, slower-playing, and a tad more melodic unit than the sweat-covered predecessor. There is an electric "live" feel to the music, with edges not too heavily polished.
Check out new track "Outdated" below. The full "Come Cold, Come Wind" track listing will be as follows:
1. Another Brick In The Wind
2. Come Cold

The Southern California metal titans from Winds Of Plague today signed a record deal with Entertainment One Music (eOne) / Good Fight Music. The band is also announcing a first headlining tour in two and a half years, with Rings Of Saturn as direct support.
Vocalist Johnny Cooke comments: "Over two years ago Winds Of Plague played a show at Chain reaction in Anaheim with Bleeding Through on their farewell tour. While I was walking off that stage I was certain that would have been the final show for us as well. We had an amazing 10 year run, played some wild shows, met a lot of great people and now it was time to focus on ourselves as individuals and let the band fade into the background.
"However, I was wrong. Now, in 2016 we find ourselves grounded and in a place to return to the stage. After playing a handful of SoCal shows, the fire and passion is raging harder than ever and we are very excited to announce our first run of headlining shows in years. The run of shows takes us to Texas and back accompanied by hard hitters Rings Of Saturn and Enterprise Earth. More...
French extreme metal quartet Backdawn just released new album "I Shall Burn Your Empire," which is also now online for streaming in full. Listen in below or pick up your own copy at Bandcamp here.
"I Shall Burn Your Empire" is a darker and more mature offering than that of the band's 2013 debut "Through Extermination." Vocalist and lead guitarist Chris Snaeder elaborates: "'I Shall Burn Your Empire' is a complete hate bible that I wrote to spit all my anger out... I'm deeply concerned about people around me and about our society, and a lot of events hit me hard, so I put all my negative emotion into the lyrics.
"There are double meanings in all my texts, I decided to be imperative and direct in the lyrics. I sometimes speak directly to someone I know, sometimes to a group of people, even to God. Everyone can refer to something in this album and I hope that it will help people rise above these problems."
The album was recorded and mixed by Clement Decrock of Boss Hog Studio France and mastered by Annihilator’s Jeff Waters at his Watersound Studio, Canada. "We wanted to have a loud, aggressive, high-gain and modern sound," states Chris. "We worked in minute detail on every sound on this album, each guitar has been recorded using two different amps, we used a different bass than usual, we took a lot of time to design the drum sound as well. We wanted to produce something with a lot of personality..." More...

Canadian group Celestial Ruin will release new EP "Pandora" on May 20th, which follows the 2012 debut album "The Awakening."
Before it drops, the band has teamed up with PureGrainAudio.com for a free download of first single "Sense of Exile." Grab your copy right here.
Vocalist Larissa Dawn comments on the track: "The concept of 'Sense of Exile' is hopefully a relatable one, it's about making a life altering decision based on the needs and wants of others . Completely ignoring your own gut instinct and later recognizing that the choice you made has all kinds of negative repercussions.
"The sound and feel of this song may be high energy, but the lyrics and emotions behind it are that of anger, regret and despair. I'm sure many of us feel these mixed emotions frequently, so I am hoping the power behind the music allows people to just let out all their frustration and after think, 'I fell a lot better now.'" After unleashing new album "The Exile" this past March via Test Your Metal Records, North Carolina-based Rapheumets Well has a new music video to wow fans with a visual world from this sci-fi/ fantasy inspired concept story album.
The video for "Crucible of Titans" (available below) is just once piece of the story line as drummer Joshua Ward explains: "In our song ‘Crucible of Titans’, Darmak is confronted by an Okvier named Sen, an inter-dimensional being who offers help to Darmak as Sotath's plan was illusive even to the celestial counsel. Darmak is asked to spy on the traitor in hopes of revealing his agenda. Things go very wrong. Being ratted out by a family friend, Darmak is forced to look on as his family is executed.
"Darmak is sent to the realm between realms, away from the eyes of celestial order. The demonic servants of Sotath bind a rare artifact to his bones which will forbid him to die. They tear his skin from his bones only to have his organs regenerate and repeat. Having his flesh skin torn multiple times each day and left to ruminate on his families execution, he is cursed to walked the desert of the Nastar (lost realm) until his spirit literally fragments and he ceases to exist.
"This is the crucible of titans and why we chose to do this video. We actually shot and produced our own video due to budget constraints, but we worked extremely hard and we hope everyone enjoys the work and creativity of the story.”
After a debut at NAMM 2016 in January, Zakk Wylde’s own Wylde Audio is now open for business. Check out the website here.
"I'm very excited for the launch of Wylde Audio in 2016," Wylde states. "For me, it's the next logical step. You start as a player, manager, VP of team operations, then team owner. I've surrounded myself with super talented people to make this vision become a reality and having Schecter on board as our distributor is going to allow me to bring Wylde Audio's boutique quality of craftsmanship to the next level."
As previously reported Wylde Audio had struck a worldwide distribution deal with Schecter Guitar Research. Schecter will distribute Wylde Guitars via its distributor network covering over 70 countries, which also includes handling fulfillment of the guitars in the USA.
"We are extremely proud to be working with Zakk and Wylde Audio on this endeavor," states Schecter Guitar Research executive vice-president Marc LaCorte. "Zakk has been incredible in recognizing what he wanted in his own brand and bringing the best possible product to the market."
Be sure not to miss Zakk on tour now across North America as part of "The Generation Axe” tour. The trek finds Steve Vai, Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society), Yngwie Malmsteen, Nuno Bettencourt (Extreme) and Tosin Abasi (Animals As Leaders) all touring together. More...
North London is no stranger to heavy metal shows, with venues like the Underworld, the Koko and the Electric Ballroom (all in Camden) regularly hosting bands from the genre. The 02 Academy in Islington has really been spoiling fans of the genre this week however as only a day after Udo Dirkschneider and Anvil graced the stage (see review here,) two of Finland's most beloved bands docked in the capital to treat the Islington crowd to a grand but highly enjoyable night of pagan metal.
I arrived at the venue to find that Moonsorrow had just started, opening with the title track from their new album, "Jumalten Aika" and immediately capturing the attention of the crowd, who had packed this relatively small but still impressive concert hall. The band are a seriously impressive live act, in addition to their complex compositions, somehow creating images in the mind despite their striking stage presence. Just listening to songs like "Suden Tunti" and "Jotunheim," I could practically see the Viking vessels arriving on the shores of England (I'm glad they weren't really, the Vikings took all our hot women to Iceland last time they showed up.) Following a short slumber, Ides Of Gemini is back and ready to bring more otherworldly odes to the stage once again on a new run of live performances this weekend.
The short trek includes an appearance at Stump Fest in Portland, Oregon and will showcase not only some brand new psalms but also an updated lineup featuring drummer Scott Batiste of Saviours and bassist Adam Murray of Deth Crux alongside veteran Ides man, guitarist J. Bennett, and vocalist Sera Timms.
"These gentlemen are top-notch players and wicked handsome to boot," issues Bennett of the new cast. "We'll be breaking in the new lineup with a handful of West Coast shows with Saviours this month, during which we'll be debuting some new songs."
Additionally, the band will make an appearance at Psycho Vegas this August in Las Vegas, Nevada with more live rituals to be announced in the not so distant future. Stand by.

Sarcoptes has a new album titled "Songs and Dances of Death" coming tomorrow (April 22nd) via Cimmerian Shade Recordings, with an advance song available below. The label also comments:
"Cimmerian Shade Recordings has a knack of discovering the exceptional ones. After Solinaris, we have Sarcoptes, playing bombastic black metal from U.S. and aiming for something that isn't being done often.
"Now what they're doing different is that they're playing a form of atmospheric black/thrash metal that's both vicious and symphonic at the same time. It's what Immortal would sound like if they had adopted keyboards. Sarcoptes sound majestic and wicked, and have spent an incredible amount of time in the studio perfecting the mix so that it sounds the way it should, where every aspect of the music is complementing each other despite the apparent conflicting natures.
"There are hardly any bands that sound as forceful and convincing as this when the word atmospheric gets thrown about. And Sarcoptes are doing it with a ton of class. Unmatched in their scope, they're set to achieve great things, defying conventions, and moving ahead with the times." More...

Parisian post-metal duo Alcest will release a new album this fall via Prophecy Productions. The band -- vocalist / multi-instrumentalist Neige and drummer Winterhalter -- is currently putting the finishing touches on the record, which is described as "intense songs full of contrasts and dynamics."
The as-yet-untitled release follows the duo's celebrated 2014 LP, "Shelter," hailed as “capable of great feats of mood and beauty” by Pitchfork and “intoxicating” by Rolling Stone.
"For the past 3 months we have been recording our new album, and right now we are doing small adjustments on the mix," comments Neige. "It's coming to an end of a very long journey (the longest studio experience we've had so far) and we feel quite exhausted, but really happy. For each album we try to challenge ourselves, developing the songs in new directions. This time will be just as special, but also a return to the approach we had in our earlier albums; with intense songs full of contrasts and dynamics. Even if this album is quite 'alien' in character, we felt the need to come back to the origins of the project. The release date is planned for Autumn 2016 and then we will embark on a 37 date European co-headlining tour with the Japanese band Mono. We are very much looking forward to this tour and to show you the work of our last couple of years."
This summer, Alcest will join label mates Germ,, Secrets of the Moon, Les Discrets, Helrunar, Völur and more at the 2016 Prophecy Fest, set to take place July 29-30 inside Balver Höhle, "a natural cave from old stone age" in Balve, Germany. For full details, visit this location. More...
