Hollow Bones Posts New Video

Empire State melodic metalcore quintet Hollow Bones has a new music video out now for "The November Diaries," taken from the band's upcoming debut album "Lionheart."

"'The November Diaries' was one of the first songs to be written for the album, and is by far one of the most aggressive," Hollow Bones vocalist Patrick Anthony told Lambgoat.com "The song deals a lot with guilt, frustration, and anger about one's own self. It is a very personal song, and because of that, it had to be honest in order to be effective. We hope that the raw feelings we put into the song come across as intended."

Hollow Bones will self-release "Lionheart" on May 27th. The album can be pre-ordered now at this location. The group comments:

"We are incredibly proud to present our debut album 'Lionheart.' It took us over a year to get everything we wanted, and although it was a long wait, we couldn't be happier with the final product. We hope that the passion we put into making this album rings true with people who are looking to find solace in music.

"We hope that people hear the words we are saying and are inspired to take action, or are relieved in knowing they are not alone and that others have felt the way they do and that there is reprieve. Our mission from the beginning has always been, and will always be, to find people who are as passionate about music as we are about creating it. Promote what you love, and use music to heal." Wolf Hoffmann Releasing New Album

Accept’s guitar powerhouse Wolf Hoffmann is getting ready to release his 2nd solo album entitled "Headbangers Symphony."

New full-length album "Headbangers Symphony" will be released on July 1st, 2016 by Nuclear Blast. The label comments:

"Wolf Hoffmann has a passion. His life-long love and dedication to heavy metal music is documented in dozens of albums spanning four decades with his long time heavy metal band Accept. But beyond heavy metal, Wolf has an incessant craving for the classics, yes, the ones written decades and centuries ago.

"Classical music has always been an influence - albeit limited - on Accept's Teutonic approach to rock and heavy metal. However, it wasn't until 1997 during an extended hiatus from Accept, that Wolf Hoffmann finally had the chance to fully explore and fulfil this interest by recording his first astounding solo album ‘Classical’, a record filled with his rock guitar driven interpretations of some of classical music’s most loved compositions."

Hoffmann comments: "I have always incorporated classical music in my song writing with Accept, especially with ‘Metal Heart,’ but I constantly felt there was so much more that I could do and I did not want to overload Accept or force it in any way. I always knew I could make a whole record of it and that’s how the first record ‘Classical’ was born. Even today, fans tell me that they are still listening to it, that's why it is so fantastic now to do another one." More...

Omen Reveals "Hammer Damage" Details

Omen's "Hammer Damage" album is set to arrive on CD format via Pure Steel Records on May 27th, 2016. The first edition comes with a special colored grey tray and the pre-order phase will start on May 13th. Pure Steel comments:

"With the signing of U.S. metal legend Omen an old dream of ours has come true. For us, at Pure Steel Records, classic albums like 'Battle Cry' and 'Warning of Danger' are historical contributions to the metal world. With a striking release entitled 'Hammer Damage,' the first studio album since 'Eternal Black Dawn' (2003), Omen is back in the saddle and means serious business. The new album was mixed by Kenny Powell and mastered by QuSound Studio/Michael Kusch.

"When listening to epic and catchy power hymns such as 'Hammer Damage' (the incisive title track) or the hard pounding 'Cry Havoc' or the masculine pathos 'Hellas,' fans of the Californian quartet will completely go crazy. Already active in Omen between 1998 and 2009, Kevin Goocher (also Phantom X), with his raspy voice, will often remind you of the late J.D. Kimball, while guitarist Kenny Powell, also part of the 2016 lineup, has obviously not lost any of the striking guitar skills he displayed during Omen’s glorious early days.

"With 'Hammer Damage,' Omen clearly show that they are ready to reclaim their throne as masters of unadulterated U.S. metal." More...

Ominous Eclipse Posts Lyric Video

Forging death metal with elements of thrash, groove, black, and melodic tones, Ottawa's hybrid force Ominous Eclipse has posted a lyric video for the title track from latest album "End of Days."

The band opened for Kalmah and Vesperia earlier this month and has just been announced once again as local support for Aegaeon and Depths of Hatred for a tour stop in Ottawa on May 28th.

Vocalist / guitarist Graham Murphy comments on the new lyric video: "'End Of Days,' the title speaks for itself. We took an 'end of the world' concept and used a 'balance of light and darkness' theme with a biblical topic. The idea is 'Death,' symbolized as darkness, shadowing over the world to consume all life. Humanity turns to 'God,' symbolized as light, in hope for salvation.

"God is the one who sent Death seeing us as being undeserving of the gift of life. Although the song may come off as trying to preach morals from a religious sense, we are really just portraying an apocalypse themed song where both light and darkness are our enemy." More...

Ayreon Signs With Mascot

Mascot Label Group is proud to announce the signing of Ayreon, the highly acclaimed project from singer / songwriter / multi-instrumentalist / record producer Arjen Lucassen. The Ayreon catalog, comprising seven studio albums, will be re-released on various digital platforms on April 22nd. Mascto also issued this press release:

"Ayreon is in a class of its own. You might call Lucassen’s Ayreon studio albums rock operas. Or, to be more precise, you may prefer a description like, 'ambitious studio projects combining progressive rock, metal, and folk over intricate storylines, brought to life by countless famous guest singers from all over the world.'

"But no matter how you categorize it, the Ayreon album collection offers highly creative rock music with a quality in composition and production rarely heard in the last twenty years. 'The Final Experiment' was Ayreon’s first album, released in the Netherlands in 1995 by start-up label Transmission Records. It set the tone for the project, with intricate sci-fi/fantasy storytelling and timeless progressive rock featuring a line-up of world class vocalists and musicians, including Barry Hay (Golden Earring), Jan-Chris de Koeijer (Gorefest), and Kingdom Come’s Lenny Wolf. Fear Factory At the Concord Music Hall 4/19/2016

Booking this show was an absolute nightmare and almost entirely my fault. I say almost because it it was only 0.01% other people's fault and 99.99% mine thanks to my bad habit of procrastination. I saw that Darren (Rex_84 to you readers) had already interviewed Dino a week ago and thought that I missed my shot at covering Fear Factory but already put in a request to Fear Factory's management instead of Soilwork's which led to discussion with Darren about what type of content was in his now published interview and led to me originally only getting a photo pass from Liz at Earplit PR. Of course by the time Darren, Doug, Ty and I all took the time to discuss whether or not to do a second Fear Factory interview and came to the conclusion that since Darren and Dino only discussed the history of the band through “Demanufacture,” it would be a good idea to get Burt's take on Fear Factory starting with “Obsolete.” Which we only discussed after I bought up the possibility days after I should have. Liz naturally took a vacation for from Friday through Monday and only confirmed the possibility of an interview on the day of the show and sent an e-mail to me stating that an interview was off the table after I'd already contacted the band's tour manager to confirm an interview... which was just a huge clusterfuck made worse by the tour manager being late to send the guest list to the box office when I was worried that I wouldn't even get in.

Of course after getting in, I stop at the merch table, buy a shirt and then look at the audience around me. One guy was still wearing those mallgoth JNCO raver pants that Hot Topic sold circa 2001 who I'm guessing spent the last 15 years in cryogenic suspension. Amazingly a lot of people in Star Wars shirts who frequently had chin straps that grew into full on neckbeards with one guy even wearing a full-on pleather trenchcoat. Part of me wanted to bring a college-aged Ani DeFranco fan with me just to see how fast she'd get triggered only to run into the arms of the security guy who happened to be a white dude with dreadlocks... Which might give her a full-on mental breakdown. More...
