Infection Code Announces 15th Anniversary EP

Infection Code has checked in with the following announcement about an upcoming 15th anniversary release:

“This year we celebrate 15 years of activity, creating noise. 15 intense years, rich rewards, some disappointments, a lot of sacrifices, several people met, known, become friends or fleeting faces disappeared. Same thing for the bands. Hundreds of different sounds encountered on our way. Many of these remained, many vanished.

"We are still here with five albums, a MCD, a split album, and more than two hundred concerts. To celebrate this period, fundamental to our growth as artists and humans, we decided to go out with an EP containing four songs. It will be a compendium of some pieces that are part of our history, played, arranged and recorded with the current physical strength, mental, emotional and creative. And also featuring one song never released before.

"The work will be titled '00 - 15: l’avanguardia industriale' and will be released in the Fall of 2015 by Argonauta Records. Also with a video track with live images and footage from the recording studio and created by director Ivan Ferrera. We will record at the Archensiel Studios Asti owned by our guitarist Paolo that will take care of all the recording process supported by our sound engineer Carmine Leone.

"The album will be mixed and produced by Oktopus at the Uptown Mixers in Harlem, New York. Oktopus is the musician tied to Dalek and has produced, in addition to all his records, even bands like Starkweather, Burnt by the sun, Candiria. In addition to producing the album he will participate with his visionary electronics parts in one song with Rennie Resmini, Starkweather singer. The artwork will be once again created by Marco Castagnetto (zenpunkart.com), author of the beautiful cover of La Dittatura del Rumore."

Switchblade Jesus Signs With Ripple Music

Ripple Music is thrilled to announce the addition of Texan band Switchblade Jesus to its roster, along with the official re-release of the band's self-titled debut this May. Ripple comments:

"Formed in 2010 in the land of oil and tar, the Corpus Christi outfit consisting of Peter Quarnstrom (vocals), Eric Calvert (lead guitar/vocals), Billy Guerra (guitar), Jason Beers (bass) and Jon Elizondo (drums) may be hard drinking operators of heavy rock and roll, but they are also well versed in the ways of the desert.

"Switchblade Jesus, the band’s devastating right hook of a debut was originally released on Kozmik Artifactz and instantly found listeners hearing notable nods to Kyuss, Orange Goblin and Clutch deep amid from the record’s weighty grooves and vintage stoner vibes. A crushing, loose and alcohol-fuelled fistfight between heavy fuzz and wild peyote hallucinations, tracks like ‘Bastard Son’ and ‘Renegade Riders’ showcase the band’s raw and unruly power... and then some."

The band also take to the road this month to play a number of dates across its home state of Texas with Arizonan three-piece Fuzz Evil:

22nd April – Low Brow Palace – El Paso, TX
23rd April – The Mix – San Antonio, TX
24th April – The Lost Well – Austin, TX
25th April – Club Dada – Dallas, TX More...

Sig:Ar:Tyr Announces "Northen" Release

Canadian blackened heavy metal act Sig:Ar:Tyr is proud to announce the release of new album "Northen" this Fall.

While Sig:Ar:Tyr has in the past been known as atmospheric blackened folk, "Northen" shifts into more traditional metal territory, while maintaining the dark sounds of earlier material. The band's mastermind (and sole permanent member) Daemonskald had the following to say about the album:

"The album deals with the end of the Viking age, and the adventures of the Norse in our own country, Canada. Unlike the permanent settlements in Greenland, their stay here was short-lived, and we are still discovering the extent of their travels, the artifacts from their small settlements, and unfolding the tales of their interaction with the native cultures here at the time.

"'Northen' is a tale of tribute to this small group of adventurers, who with a dynamic, and individualistic spirit, were still willing to throw stability and comfort aside to explore mysterious new places like Helluland, Markland, and Vinland, and try to be their own master in a changing world." Thornesbreed Releasing New Album

Art of Propaganda is proud to present Thornesbreed's second album, "GTRD," set for international release on June 29th. The label had this to say about the impending release:

"Long-awaited to say the very least, 'GTRD' is Thornesbreed's first full-length in 12 years, and first new release since 2011 as well as their first for Art of Propaganda. However, during that time, the German quintet have been in a quiet 'n' clandestine state of transition. Formed in 1997 as a death metal band, Thornesbreed released three demos before signing a deal with Animate Records, who released the band's debut album, 'The Splendour of the Repellent,' in 2003 to good critical response across Europe.

"Following the album's release, the band played over 100 concerts across Europe and some select festivals in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. That time spent on the stage, as well as burning desire to dive deeper into blacker realms, has resulted in Thornesbreed's crowning statement of their new era, 'GTRD.' More...

Featuring over 70-minutes of Billy Club Sandwich mayhem - professionally recorded live footage of classic songs, rare, behind-the-scenes lost tour footage, music videos, bonus footage and more - "Japan Suspects Tour" is a snapshot one of hardcore's most diverse bands in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Billy Club Sandwich drummer, Glen Lorieo, commented: "It was always a dream of ours to play Japan, and when we finally did we were lucky enough to have it documented. The footage that is captured truly shows BCS at its finest. This is some truly amazing video of BCS on tour, and along with the bonus footage, this DVD is a great historical release for our band."

"This tour was an amazing experience and proved to us once again that hardcore really is a worldwide family," BCS bassist, Gary Muttley, recalled. A Distant Calm Parting With Guitarist

Guitarist Alex Rieth from Arizona outfit A Distant Calm has issued the following statement online about parting ways with the group:

"Hey, guys! Alex here. I have a public service announcement for you all! I have thought very long and deeply on this decision, but I regret\am happy to inform you that I have decided to resign from the band.

"I regret it in the way that I will no longer be a part of this amazing thing that I helped create over five years ago. Leaving the music, the fans and above all my brothers is a very painful thing to do. BUT, I am happy about it because I will be moving on with my life in many exciting ways, and the band will do likewise.

"Among the myriad of reasons for this decision, my health is the biggest. I cannot perform in this band the way that the band needs me too, and it is getting increasingly harder to maintain the energy we've established at our live shows due to certain health issues. Bummer.

"But with all of that being said, on a more personal note to you, the fans that are reading this now: Thank you. As sincere as a person can be, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the support, love, excitement and joy we've all shared together. Ever since I was a child, this has always been my dream. And up until now, I have achieved every goal I set for myself. And I could never have done it without each and every one of you. So again, I say thank you, for allowing me to live my dream.

"One last note to add: With all that mushiness said, I will not be departing JUST yet. We have a show June 5th at Pub Rock with some of my absolute favorite local bands that I would love all you to attend and one more, much BIGGER announcement that I can't quite spill the beans on yet, that I will be partaking in. SO, seeing as how you guys have come this far with me, why not send me off with a bang? We'll be selling tickets soon...let's get rowdy." More...
