Polish outfit Hate, which just released the "Crusade:Zero" album (reviewed here), has issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band's guitarist:
"Hate has parted ways with guitarist Destoyer after 9 years due to different priorities between him and the rest of the band.
"We would like to thank him for his contribution through out all those years and wish him all the best in his future endeavours. For live shows he will be replaced by Dominik 'Domin' Prykiel (in the photo), who is already taking part in the European tour within the band's ranks." More...
With its second MLP/MCD entitled "Self Reversed" (due out May 1st), the enigmatic entity known as Sect Pig continues in the same depraved vein that it initially tapped with "Slave Destroyed," the band's first MLP, also released by Nuclear War Now Productions in 2013. The label comments:
"In the same way that the band had previously established itself on its first recording, 'Self Reversed' might best be characterized musically as a manic descent into hypnotic psychosis. Although the song structures and rhythmic patterns hint strongly at the early VON demos as a primary inspiration, Sect Pig's compositions involve more layered textures, atmospheres, and variety of effects, and thus they are more complex than what VON undertook with its brand of minimalist black metal.
"Additionally, Sect Pig once again skillfully employs the use of spoken-word monologue samples to frame the most primal of themes that the music explores. Among these samples are references to self-mutilation and the detached indifference to one's own life or death, the confessed motivations of a serial killer bent on the destruction of sexual icons, and an academically-rendered profile of such a serial killer. Furthermore, and as a continuance of what is likely to be considered Sect Pig's most easily identifiable trait, the presence of bestial, effect-laden vocals, reminiscent of a human/swine hybrid, might be justifiably interpreted as a reflection on a dehumanized society and the thinly-veiled boundary that one might easily cross into animalistic depravity." David Sanchez from Havok has checked in with the following health update after breaking his wrist:
"As many of you know, I broke my left wrist a few months ago and we had to cancel a week of shows on our tour with Crowbar.
"Well, here's some GOOD news... It has been about a month since my wrist surgery, so I figured I would update everyone on my status. The surgery went well and I have been working hard to rehabilitate myself quickly. The doctors have even told me that I am healing much faster than average!
"That means that once this thing is fully healed, I will be back to playing guitar like normal and we will wrap up the writing on the new HAVOK album. We plan to record the new album later this year. You guys are gonna love what we've got cookin'... Prepare for massively heavy, evil riffage!
(We will make up those cancelled dates as soon as possible.)
"Thanks so much for your continued support of the band. I love and appreciate you all!"

We Butter The Bread With Butter will release the follow-up to "Goldkinder" (reviewed here), titled "Wieder Geil!," on May 22nd via AFM Records. The label comments:
"A supersonic boom, they'll crack your speakers, and you'll bang your head instantly. The release 'Wieder Geil!' is WBTBWB's fourth album, which proves that they're know what metal is about!
"So what did you expect to read now? We Butter The Bread With Butter are chasing after trends?
No! The innocent audacity is gone.
"What once grew with a child-like mind quickly got dead serious. The monster from the closet turned into a premature child of gold (Goldkind) that had to learn quickly up there is a ceiling made of concrete. Scratching at it is only fun as long as you`re patient enough to play with the big boys.
"It was youthful recklessness that led to the wrong impression a fatal journey through the depths of major label industry would add to the band construct. Now thoughtfulness and focusing on art itself gives the Berlin-based act the strength again to show modern metal from its most intriguing side. So sit down and relax. More...

Magic Bullet is pleased to unveil two brand new and exclusive tracks from Los Angeles, California's Black Mare and Mesa, Arizona's Lycia.
Black Mare is the dark ambient solo project of Ides Of Gemini front woman, Sera Timms. On "Low Crimes," bandmates from Ides Of Gemini and Mustard Gas & Roses (MGR) contribute to the sonic journey; an aurally lush, yet glacially-paced cruise through Timms' frozen world wherein she encourages the mind's eye to notice relics like the feathers of fallen angels scattered about the snow.
Lycia initially came to prominence back in the late '80s and '90s with groundbreaking darkwave and ethereal wave styles featuring heavily reverbed guitars, dark/ethereal keyboard tones, and ominous programmed drums that pushed the gothic scene forward.
The title goes immediately out of print after Record Store Day (April 18th). Exclusive cover art and insert art by the bands themselves round out this frostbitten slab of wax. More...

Despotz Records just inked a deal with Swedish retro rock act, Casablanca, which will release "Miskatonic Graffiti" later this Summer.
Today the band has teamed up with PopMatters.com to stream the upcoming album's first single, "My Shadow out of Time." Give it a listen below.
The band commented: "First single from the Casablanca concept album 'Miskatonic Graffiti,' 'My Shadow out of Time' is about memories of loss on a cosmic scale - of those left on the other side, gone forever? It's about things left in the run, like shadows lost in time. Don't we all lose a few shadows, while making our way through life?"
"We are incredibly excited to present this new signing to the Despotz Family," said Carl-Marcus Gidlöf of Despotz Records. "We welcome Casablanca and look forward to a very fruitful cooperation.
"In the current climate in the industry, this concept album feels just right. This album offers a combination of sharp singles embedded with long intro and outro songs, and a story and sound that captivates the listener like a favorite TV series that you just don't want to end. Combining this with a huge passion and a great team, we see no limits on where we can take this."
The upcoming "Miskatonic Graffiti" is a concept album, broken into three sections, and based on the stories and events that take place in the small fictional town called "The Mountains." The band describes the concept as if "Ziggy Stardust met H. P. Lovecraft in Twin Peaks." More...
In "Krampus: The Devil Returns," Snowdog Studio brings Krampus back to continue punishing children who've made the naughty list for Christmas.

Snowdog Studio has launched a crowd funding campaign to release this sequel, which you can contribute to at this location. The studio comments:
"Why are we doing this campaign? It's easy. After our first 'Krampus' movie, we realized what an amazing group of fans we have and we want you to be a bigger part of the whole process from start to finish this time around. We want you to become part of the production. We need you to be part of the production. The big studios won't financially back the movie we want to make and the movie you want us to make. That's where you come in." More...

U.K. power thrash act Risen Prophecy announced that the sophomore release "Into the Valley of Hinnom" will be issued via Metal on Metal Records on April 24th. The cover art (shown below) was painted by Metal on Metal owner, Jowita Kaminska-Peruzzi (Exodus, Manilla Road, Attacker, Witchburner, Forsaken, Deceased, Meliah Rage, Nomad Son, Arkham Witch, Metal Law...).
"Into the Valley of Hinnom" is a conceptual release centered around the Biblical, rabbinical and ancient Roman and Greek tales about the (Hinnom) Gehenna valley, where people were worshiping Moloch, sacrificing their children "passing" them through the fire into the statue of Moloch.
The label commented: "These young British lads have impressive technical chops and brilliant sense of song crafting, which has resulted in a really mature album with highly developed, epic compositions. And to top it off, they have a charismatic singer with really powerful pipes and quite a theatrical delivery of both clean and more brutal, snarl-like vocals, as well as ear-splitting screams. Old school thrash mixed with power metal (of the US kind), reminiscent of bands like Iced Earth, Unearthed, Testament, Sabbat, Sindrome, Defiance, Artillery, Hellhound, Maelstrom (NY), Judas Priest or Forbidden, is what's on offer here."
A two minute promo clip for the album can be viewed/heard below. The clip features a snippet of the epic title track, and scenes from the "Cabiria" movie from 1914.
The track list is:
1. The Descension
2. Brood of Vipers
3. Knowing Nothing
4. To the Wolves
5. Into the Valley of Hinnom
6. The Ascension More...
Legendary Italian epic/progressive act Dark Quarterer announced details of the upcoming new album "Ithaca," the sixth full-length album which will be issued via Metal on Metal Records on April 24th.
"Ithaca" is a concept album inspired by the 1911 poem of the same title by a Greek poet, Konstantinos P. Kavafis (Constantine P. Cavafy), which utilized Odysseus's travel from the Trojan Wars back to his home island as a metaphor for the journey of life, where the goal is not important, but the journey itself. Stylistically, it's a mix of '80s epic heavy metal with '70s progressive rock, and some elements of doom.
The album's artwork (shown below) was created by Alice Bertoncini, who also contributed vocals. According to the label, "Dark Quarterer's music is very warm, full of various emotions and moods, much thanks to the impressive vocals, ranging from mystical and fragile, through more eccentric singing and falsettos, to full-on powerful metal delivery. Overall, it's the most versatile album of this band that has developed and maintained their unique recognizable style, which should appeal to fans of Adramelch, Manilla Road, Thunder Rider, Slough Feg, Hammers of Misfortune, Vavel, Cirith Ungol, as well as Italian prog rock bands like The Trip, Goblin, Museo Rosenbach or Biglietto Per L'Inferno."
The track listing is:
1. The Path of Life
2. Night Song
3. Mind Torture
6. Rage of Gods
7. Last Fight More...

Commented the label: "Like on their 2013 debut "Prologus Magicus", the band keeps on following in the genre's forefathers' footsteps, delivering pure, old school and quite straightforward doom metal in the vein of Black Sabbath, Krux, Candlemass, Pentagram, Spiritus Mortis, Iron Man, Saint Vitus, Spiritus Mortis, and the like. The vocals are particularly noteworthy here, ranging from raspy to clean and somberly bewitching mid-range, to high pitched wails and screams."
