Cnoc An Tursa Recruits New Bassist
Scotland's Cnoc An Tursa - which was nominated as one of the best metal newcomers of 2013 - just issued the following announcement about recruiting a new bassist:
"We would like to take this opportunity to announce our new full time bass player, Tony Dunn to the band.
"Tony's first gig with us will be at North Of The Wall festival on March 28th in Glasgow @ Classic Grand.
"He has been a friend of the band for many years and was an obvious choice for bass duties. He is very talented musician and we hope you will give him a warm welcome!"
Amongst The Dead Things Posts Demo Track
Perth, Australia's Amongst The Dead Things just released a first demo track titled "The Ultimate Sacrifice," which can be streamed below. "The Ultimate Sacrifice" was recorded at The House Of Slaugh in February / March of 2015.
Pirosaint Streaming New Track
New York band Pirosaint just uploaded the new track "House Of Hardcore," written exclusively for the Tommy Dreamer’s House Of Hardcore wrestling academy located in Poughkeepsie, NY.
"House Of Hardcore" features Ignacio Figueroa of the band Naioth on vocals. The track was recorded at Oily Sound Studios by Ignacio Orellana in New Windsor, NY and mixed / mastered at Ignacio Figueroa’s Studios in Valparaiso, Chile.
Pirosaint drummer Ignacio Orellana commented: "We are currently still looking for a capable and steady local singer but in the meantime we have been doing tons of other stuff… like this theme song, that we hope will bring more interest to our good friends at the local wrestling academy. We’ve already worked on some other things related to this so, we hope they will be made public soon enough. The band Pirosaint has material already recorded for an album but we haven’t found the right person to work with us as a singer... so we are still looking for the right person…" More...

Demiurgon Signs With Ungodly Ruins
Italian newborn death metal act Demiurgon (featuring members from brutal death metal act Unbirth and blacksters Darkend) just signed a record deal with Ungodly Ruins Productions for the release of debut album "Above the Unworthy," due out on May 31st, 2015.
The album was mixed and mastered by Stefano Morabito at 16th Cellar studios and features artwork by Par Oloffson. A lyric video for the track "Rex Mundi" can also be seen below. More...
Entropy O.A.C. Releasing New EP
Entropy O.A.C. comes from the land of decrepit barns and more miles of tree lines than anyone cares to see, but this sometimes melodic, sometimes metal band calls Northern Wisconsin it's home. This middle of nowhere group consists of singer Ben Poulin, guitarist Austin Wagner, drummer Brandon Hall, and Bassist Josh Aalto.
Entropy O.A.C. has one full-length record already out, "Smiles For Stab Wounds," which the band self-financed and recorded at Pachyderm Studios. In 2011, the band returned with the "What Nightmares Are Made Of" EP, which eventually led to a developmental record deal with Pavement Entertainment.
Entropy O.A.C's newest and most engaging material, "Dark Clouds and Clarity," will drop on April 21st release via Pavement Entertainment. The track listing is:

Sunday Old School: Salem
Last year, Sunday Old School columns looked at a variety of bands from countries the column hadn’t featured before. From Rotting Christ in Greece to Aria in Russia, from Pentagram in Chile to Mezarkabul in Turkey, a lot of ground was covered. Now, we’ll be once again heading to uncharted territory, as for the first time, Sunday Old School covers a band from Israel, who are represented well in the history books of extreme metal by a group from Giv’ atayim by the name of Salem.
The band was formed in 1985, just over four kilometres from Tel Aviv, originally under the name, Axe Metal and became one of the first groups outside of Europe to perform the extreme brand of music which would become known as black metal. They built up a fan base at the Penguin Club, where numerous other alternative Israeli artists made their name and where they recorded a live demo, "Destruction Till Death," which was preceded in 1986 by a self-titled rehearsal demo. Another live demo, "Millions Slaughtered" was released in 1990 and was able to spread throughout the underground metal scene. More...

Anthrax is streaming a new song titled "Soror Irrumator" which is the band's contribution to the second installment of "Catch The Throne: The Mixtape" for HBO's Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning series "Game Of Thrones".
