Tribe Undergoes A "Metamorphosis"
Los Angeles based progressive metal trio Tribe just released the single "Metamorphosis" from upcoming full-length album "Atlas." Give it a listen below.
"Metamorphosis" explores a wide range of dynamic shifts and mood changes, and the song can almost be described as bi-polar. Jamie Waite, singer and bassist, comments: "I think 'Metamorphosis' is a good representation of what people can expect for 'Atlas.' The song has quite a lot of unexpected turns which is a common thread throughout the album."
Tribe was formed in 2010 in Los Angele by Jamie Waite (vocals/bass), Denner Vieira (guitars) and Rick Pivetta (drums). In 2013, Tribe released the digital EP "Through The Veil," which marked the beginning of a partnership with Atlas co-producer Erik Reichers. "Atlas" will be available everywhere May 26th via Primitive records. More...
Nesseria Posts New Music Video
Orléans, France's grinding metallic hardcore outfit Nesseria has premiered a new video, "Des Rues Ordinaires," which can be seen below.
"Des Rues Ordinaires" appears on Nesseria's latest LP "Fractures," out now on Throatruiner Records and available for streaming at this location. The band comments:
"Here is our first video, illustrating 'The Ordinary Streets,' the opening track of our second album, 'Fractures.' These 'ordinary streets' we chose to show in this video are those where we grew up, and spent most of our adolescences. We came back to these places that don’t, in themselves, have anything unique.
"We did it precisely because they are, in that, exactly identical to many we can find throughout France. In the anonymity of these empty places, stuck in their past, a whole population lives and drifts in silence. We thank Jean-Baptiste, Manuela, Delphine and Jean-Michel who have embodied immobilism, depression, alcool abuse and isolation. Thanks again to Florian Belmonte for his work, and to all those who helped us out." More...

Sunday Old School: Broken Hope
The worst prompting to feature a band in the Sunday Old School column is when a member of the group dies. While the passing in question, that of drummer, Ryan Stanek, was over a week ago now, it is no less apt to feature one of death metals lesser known veterans, Broken Hope. The band was founded in 1988 in the state of Illinois by Stanek, along with vocalist, Joe Ptacek and guitarists Jeremy Wagner and Brian Griffin, with bassist, Ed Hughes joining later on.
They released two demos before signing with Grindcore International, who released their full length debut, "Swamped in Gore," the following year. Generally, it's garnered something of a mixed response from death metal fans, with some citing is as an excellent release of the time, while others appear to claim that the structure of the music can’t support the heaviness brought to the table.
