Pyrrhon has checked in with the following announcement about departing Relapse Records and gearing up to release an EP:
"The bad news is that Relapse Records have terminated their contract with Pyrrhon and will not be working on our next LP.
"The given reason for their decision was that 'The Mother of Virtues' has not proven commercially successful, which will surely come as a major shock to anyone who’s heard it. Our split with Relapse will not affect our upcoming European tour plans next month.
"The good news: we will release 'Growth Without End,' a new EP, on June 2nd, 2015. That’s the cover art you’re looking at. Written and recorded in the aftermath of the TMoV sessions, and handled by the same team (Ryan Jones on tracking/mixing; Colin Marston on mastering; Caroline Harrison on art/layout), it is our fastest, scabbiest material to date. 'Growth Without End' will come out on vinyl & digital via Handshake Inc., whom you may know through their great work with the likes of Gridlink, Rwake, Sulaco, and Couch Slut.
"We will be joining another Handshake band for a limited number of out-of-town live appearances in support of the EP before commencing work on our next batch of material. Dates & details TBA."
The EP's track listing is:
1. Cancer Mantra
2. Forget Yourself
3. The Mass

Guitarist Stefan Weinerhall comments: "Re-releasing our debut album in a remastered version is a great kind of interlude while we do our last gigs as a live band. On top of that we offer our fans to finally hear the demo we did back in 1999, something very few people have heard. We also decided to re-record 3 songs from the debut in acoustic, very scaled down versions. It really got the songs to shine in a new kind of way. Closing a two-year gap since its debut album, Columbia, South Carolina's Burnt Books has hooked up with independent label Retro Futurist, founded by members of Kylesa, for the release of recently completed second full-length, "Where There's Smoke There's Fire."
Burnt Books formed in October 2011, its members hailing from a variety of local bands. Matt Thompson and Troy Thames of Guyana Punch Line and Thank God joined Joey Parker and Chuck Sligh of Tunguska to create the blended driving force of Burnt Books, and the addition of Zoe Lollis brought beautiful yet brutal vocals to the fold.
After touring on a self-titled debut album which rocketed forth through At A Loss Recordings in January 2013, the band started writing with a more refined vision and focus. Burnt Books once again enlisted Phillip Cope (Kylesa, Baroness, Lazer/Wulf) to produce the release at The Jam Room Recording Studio in the band's hometown.
An advance taste of the album is now online - check out "Stupid Game" below, courtesy of CVLT Nation. Due out March 20th, the track listing is as follows:

For Agnostic Front singer Roger Miret “The American Dream Died” is the result of built up frustration of seeing greed and corruption go by unchecked. The album, Agnostic Front’s 11th full-length, serves as a vehicle for Miret to voice his opinion on current events like “Police Violence,” which the group compiled videos of police horrifically beating citizens. Other things that upset him include the housing crisis, war profiteering and corporations leaving America for a cheaper labor force. There is just so much anger building inside of this man that he got mad as hell and wouldn’t take it anymore. “The American Dream Died” is his outlet. It’s an outlet not only for his self, it's also gives a voice to the oppressed.
I called Roger at his home in Arizona to discuss these topics he feels so strongly about. We also talked about the legendary NYC hardcore band’s making of the album—the production and recording. Read further on to learn more about “The American Dream Died” available April 7 through Nuclear Blast Records. More...
Old Wounds has completed work on upcoming second full-length album, "The Suffering Spirit," due out later this year via Good Fight Music.
The New Jersey band recorded with producer Andreas Magnusson at Planet Red Studios in Richmond, Virginia. Old Wounds drummer Brandon Gallagher gives this report:
"We just completed the recording of 'The Suffering Spirit,' our second LP. I think this release accurately expresses our growth as a band both musically and emotionally. We've been on the road almost nonstop since the release of our first LP, 'From Where We Came Is Where We'll Rest,' and in between tours we worked on writing better songs that were released on the Trenchfoot split and the 'Death Projection' EP.
"Once it was time to sit down and really start focusing on this new album we knew exactly what we wanted and we went for it. Going into the studio with Andreas was a big help too. He knows his craft extremely well and I think he brought out the best in us." More...

No Clean Singing just hurled forth a lyric video for "Burnt Concrete" from Seattle death grind division, Theories. Check it out below.
The scathing hymn comes by way of the band's forthcoming new full-length, "Regression," set for final descent in less than two weeks via Metal Blade Records. Theories also comments on the "Burnt Concrete" track:
"Lyrically this song represents the theme of the record very well, the current, very fast decline and beginning to the end of society, civilization and our all-around existence. Our world has been going downhill for a long time now but as of recent, the downward spiral has been regressing at a hyperspeed rate.
"To sum it up, we're all fucked and there's no fixing anything now. Musically, this song represents the feel of the record as well: technical death grind. Instead of going in depth describing what it sounds like and coming up with catchy 'sub genre' phrases, just give it a listen and let the music speak for itself." More...
