Kommandant has revealed new album "The Architects Of Extermination" is due out on April 27th via ATMF. The following press release was also issued about the album:
"It’s a quantic challenge anytime Kommandant are ready to perform their new metal aggression to the scene. 'The Architects Of Extermination' doesn’t make any exception and it’s representing a milestone in the growth of the band and the evolution of the black metal experience.
"The hardest matter in talking about the Kommandant musical form is not by discussing about the patterns but to try to analyse the methods in forging an atmosphere that has a strong ability to surround the listener with a familiar but at the same time so pristine feeling.
"The industrial and martial mood is in fact so deeply merged in to the chords of the metal riffs that it sounds reactive and inappropriate to evoke the term of the industrial music. We’re mostly talking about an industrial black metal attitude with a threatening martial atmosphere.
"The guitar riffs have a strong heavy impact, a large manifestation of the tones, but the incredible personal feeling shows on the guise and terminal shape of the Architects’ monument. Strength, unity and enthralling magnitude is the outcome of this new powerful creature. The song 'Killing Word' will be a bonus track exclusively available on the 600 copies Digipak first edition."
1. Let our Vengeance Rise
2. The Architects of Extermination
4. Aquisition of Power
5. Killing Word
6. And Nation Shall Rise Against Nation
7. Rise and Fall of Empire

Miami's hallucinatory metal collective Orbweaver is pleased to welcome Nick Augusto (ex-Trivium/Maruta) to the drum stool.
Currently immersed in the pre-production stages for a next album at Shadowlit Studios, Augusto's authoritative drum style and sense of musical adventure adds a new creative dimension to Orbweaver's already eclectic brand of pummeling.
Comments Augusto of uniting with band: "I'm happy to have been asked to be a part Orbweaver. We have all played shows with each other's bands in the past and have been friends in this scene for quite some time now. I've jammed with [guitarist/vocalist] Randy [Piro] before, so the timing was right when we got a hold of each other to join forces and write new material. Looking forward to what this new CD and the future holds for Orbweaver!"
"Hexagram 23" is the working title of Orbweaver's forthcoming full-length. The record follows debut EP, "Strange Transmissions From The Neuralnomicon." See the band live on these dates:

So Leaves' Eyes for us is the 'total package' and we are delighted and proud to be their new label home."
Nils Wasko (AFM Creative Director) adds: "I can only agree here: it's a pleasure to have Leaves' Eyes on board now. Liv is an icon of the gothic & symphonic metal scene and has led both Theatre Of Tragedy and later Leaves' Eyes to international fame. We are really looking forward to this new collaboration."

"Propelled by the stunning guitar heroics of brothers Pete and Jake Adams, Virginia's Valkyrie return with their third full length Shadows, one of the year's best guitar-driven, heavy rock records.

Milwaukee-based Beer City Skateboards And Records has signed Deathwish for a three album deal, beginning with debut LP, "Out For Blood," which will be released on Record Store Day.
In addition, Deathwish has been confirmed to hit the road on tour with the likes of legendary acts MDC, Raw Power, Deviated Instinct, and more in the months ahead. The following press release was also issued about the band:
"Hailing from Northern Wisconsin, with members from Wartorn, Dresden, The Parish and more, Deathwish is a fierce, motorcharged quartet that annihilates everything in its path. Elements of punk, hardcore, and straight-up rock with an extremely rapid pace unite in the band's sound, making them prime for ragers and rockers who frequent Motörhead, GBH, Disfear, Zeke and Midnight LPs or can't get enough of the circle pit. Following successful tours and the lightning-fast depletion of their debut 7", the band hit the studio right away and now strike out with their debut LP, 'Out For Blood.'
"Delivering nine, relentless, guitar-driven, take-no-prisoners tracks that topple everything in earshot, Deathwish recorded 'Out For Blood' with Adam Tucker at Signaturetone Recording, after which the platter was mastered by Jack Control (Severed Head of State, World Burns to Death) at Enormous Door Mastering. Finalized with artwork by Marald, Randall Witte and Doomsday Graphics, the vinyl version of 'Out For Blood' will debut as an official Record Store Day release on Saturday, April 18th, limited to 1000 copies on translucent red vinyl, as well as digital release, and a very limited edition cassette version on OSD Press and Berzerker Records. Akhlys - the new band of Naas Alcameth from Nightbringer - is about to release first album "The Dreaming I." Debemur Morti Productions comments:
"Yes, we know, you are busy listening to the new Enslaved and Leviathan albums (great ones!) and the only thing in sight that matters to you is the new Arcturus opus - which we are also totally thrilled about - BUT, trust us, take a small break and dedicate a few (12!) minutes to discover this incredible new project!
"What we have on the menu for you today is the first excerpt from 'The Dreaming I,' an edited version of 'Consummation' is streaming at SoundCloud.
"Obviously, like every modern citizen on this doomed planet, you're on the internet, you're busy, you're stressed, and you have no time to spend on another new band. Guess what? The song is fucking long (although it is has been edited!) and you'll probably just hear the first few seconds... That would be a pity! Again, try take a small break and give this a chance because YOU will be rewarded as soon as it unveils its majesty!
"Since having a majestic album of sounds was not enough, as you can see below, we hired the talented David Herrerias to create the sumptuous cover art. Give your eyes as well as your ears a gift, yes, and enjoy all the details of this beauty."
The track listing for "The Dreaming I" will consist of the following hymns:
1. Breath And Levitation
2. Tides Of Oneiric Darkness
4. The Dreaming Eye

Apophys' "Prime Incursion" full-length release is slated to slay the masses via Metal Blade Records next month.
Mixed by vocalist Kevin Quilligan and mastered by Stefano Morabito at 16th Cellar Studio (Fleshgod Apocalypse, Hour Of Penance etc.), the record boasts nine vicious hymns of sci-fi-tinged death metal centered on themes ranging from transcendental travel, rapid evolutionary progression, global epidemics, and artificial intelligence in all-out war with their makers.
In celebration of its release, today brutality portal No Clean Singing is hosting second cut, "Miscreants," for public broadcast. Listen in below. Comments the band of the latest single:
"'Miscreants' tells a tale about experimental creation. The song develops itself around this story. First there is the experiment, lead on by a grooving start. Then there is the realization of failure; the experiment has gone horribly wrong. The last phase is the destruction of the experiment. Lead by a furious, blast beat-ridden climax to end." More...
Hirax are truly one of those old school thrash bands that define the term, "hidden gem." Beneath the big names of Anthrax and Slayer and the not quite as famous names such as Testament and Death Angel, there's some excellent groups to be found, and one of the first that I found in my search for more thrash, as well as one of my personal favourites, was Hirax. They were formed in Orange County, California in 1984 and were led by their charismatic singer, Katon W. De Pena, unique for not only being one of the few black musicians in the thrash scene, but for his one of a kind singing voice, with a cadence all of his own. They released two albums, "Raging Violence" and "Hate, Fear and Power,"before losing their record deal, independently releasing a demo entitled, "Blasted In Bangkok," before Katon left the group to start a new outfit called Phantasm with Gene Hoglan and original Metallica bass player Ron McGovney, while Hirax brought in former Exodus singer Paul Baloff for a brief period before disbanding altogether.
Over time, underground interest had built up and in 2000, Katon decided to bring the band back, convincing original members Scott Owen, Gary Monardo, and John Tabares to join in as well and release the "El Diablo Negro" EP later that year. Within time, there was a major lineup shift and Katon was left as the sole original member, putting together an all new lineup in time to record and release a new album, "The New Age Of Terror" in 2004. It was an excellent return for the band, cited by some critics as the best in their catalogue and featured some fantastic tracks such as, "Hostile Territory" and "Hell On Earth," but the song which stood out for me, was the closing, "Unleash the Dogs of War," which contains one of the catchiest chouruses in thrash metal history and a punishing intro. It also showcases Katon's voice perfectly and was a big part of what made "The New Age of Terror" not just a great album, but a great statement that the old thrash metal bands who had returned or were considering returning, could still rock out as hard as ever and teach the young guns a thing or two.
